After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 33
At this moment, George had no idea what was happening at home.
Today was the day he and Caden had planned to sign the contract.
He had everything ready, but Caden was nowhere to be seen.
He looked at Vivian, puzzled. "Are you sure your brother said eight in the morning?"
Vivian gave him a sweet smile and clung to his arm, pouting. "Okay, fine, I admit it. Caden actually said ten. I just wanted to see you earlier. You won't be mad at me, right?"
"You little rascal!" George playfully tapped her forehead.
She leaned into his chest, acting all cute. "I knew you wouldn't be mad at me. So, for this next hour, you have to focus on me and no one else, okay?"
"Deal!" George couldn't resist her clingy charm and agreed without a second thought.
So when the property management called, Vivian took his phone and didn't let him answer. He didn't mind at all.
He had no clue what kind of torment Louisa was going through at home.
...
When Julian arrived at the Capulet Villa, he saw thick smoke billowing from a second-floor window.
The atmosphere in the car instantly turned icy.
With a cold, determined look, he got out of the car without a word.
The property management team arrived at the same time and rushed in with him.
The living room was relatively clear, with only a bit of smoke.
Julian headed straight upstairs and found the locked bedroom door.
He banged on the door forcefully. "Louisa! Are you in there? Are you okay?"
Inside, Louisa was about to jump out the window when she heard his voice. She stopped and tried to respond.
But as soon as she opened her mouth, the thick smoke made her cough uncontrollably, and she couldn't get a word out.
Julian made a quick decision and ordered the property staff, "Break the door down!"
Even though they didn't know him, his commanding presence left them no choice but to grab tools and start breaking the door.
The door was finally broken down.
A wave of thick white smoke rushed out. The two people who opened the door couldn't see a thing and started coughing. "We can't get in! It's too smoky, we can't see anything. The fire's too big. We should call the fire department."
While the property staff were still discussing, Julian strode right in.
"Mr. Tudor!" Teddy was shocked and called out.
But Julian didn't stop, not even for a second, and walked straight into the flames.
Then he saw Louisa crouched on the windowsill.
Her hair was a mess, and her face and clothes were dirty, like a little abandoned puppy. But her eyes still held a stubborn glimmer.
The moment she saw him, her eyes started to well up.
Seeing this, Julian felt a sharp pain in his heart. He crossed the burning room and walked towards her.
This scene seemed to awaken the deepest grievances in Louisa's heart. Her eyes grew redder, and as he reached her, tears silently fell.
He lifted her face with one hand and wiped away her tears, his voice deep and gentle. "Why are you crying?"
Louisa felt a surge of indescribable emotion and rasped out, "Mr. Tudor—"
"I'm here."
He wrapped one arm around her legs and the other around her waist, lifting her off the windowsill.
Years later, Louisa would vividly remember this moment, his words, and how he walked through the flames towards her.
Only then did she understand the depth and power of those words.
...
Julian carried her out of the burning room and took her to the hospital.
She had inhaled a lot of smoke and needed to be kept under observation.
Julian asked Teddy to handle the admission paperwork.
Louisa sat on the hospital bed, watching Julian bustle around for her, feeling a wave of gratitude.
She wanted to thank him, but a sharp pain in her stomach left her speechless.
Julian noticed her discomfort and frowned slightly. He took out his phone and made a call. "Bob, get someone to make something easy on the stomach and send it to Harmony Health Center. I'll text you the room number."
Louisa felt embarrassed. They had only met a few times and weren't close, yet he kept helping her.
She quickly said, "You don't have to go through the trouble, I can just order take—"
A glance from him silenced her. She lowered her head, avioding his gaze.
Teddy returned after handling the paperwork.
Julian helped her settle into the hospital room, making sure everything was in order.
Teddy said, "Mr. Tudor, I booked the next flight. We need to leave in two hours."
Julian nodded and looked at Louisa. "I'll get a nurse to take care of you."
"No, no, that's not necessary." Louisa waved her hands. "I can take care of myself. You should go, you've already spent too much time here."
Julian looked at her without saying anything.
Just then, there was a commotion outside the door. "Louisa! Louisa!"
It was Sadie and Flora.
They had rushed over as soon as they got Teddy's call.
They entered the room and were shocked to see Louisa's pale face and disheveled state.
They hurried over, checking her all over. "Louisa, what happened? Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, don't worry." Louisa tried to reassure them.
But Flora wasn't convinced and reached to lift her shirt to check.
Louisa was startled by her actions. Though they were used to goofing around, there were still two men in the room. Instinctively, she stole a glance at Julian, afraid he'd see something.
