Miracle Cutie Chapter 182: The Scar on Her Thigh
Amelia wasn't fond of blow-drying her hair.
She was lazy—she preferred letting it air-dry.
She said it was fine, but Benjamin still didn't let go of her wrist.
"You'll catch a cold," he insisted.
It was like a program had been triggered; he wouldn't leave until he saw her hair properly dried.
Seeing how insistent he was, Amelia obediently went to blow-dry it.
The hairdryer buzzed to life.
Benjamin watched her and suddenly asked, "There's a scar on your leg. Do you know how it got there?"
Amelia's hands froze; a blank look crossed her face.
Seeing she wasn't answering, Benjamin prompted again. "It's on your right thigh—a small scar."
Amelia's brain completely crashed.
Yes, I have a scar on my thigh. But... but how could Benjamin still remember that?!
In one second, not only did her mind short-circuit, but her face turned so red it looked ready to explode.
Because that night, Benjamin had kissed that scar countless times!
He had held her leg while she trembled and cried for him to stop.
Yet he had been wicked and overbearing and refused to let go.
"Amelia, are you listening?" Benjamin asked.
Seeing she couldn't get a word out, Benjamin looked at her calmly, as if he had only asked the most ordinary question.
He was far too serious. His seriousness made Amelia—who was losing her mind—feel like she was the one overreacting.
"Y-yes, I'm listening."
Her face burning, Amelia didn't dare look at him.
She kept blow-drying, but her hand shook so much she could barely hold the dryer steady.
Her words came out all jumbled. "Y-yeah, there is a scar. I've had it since I was little. I don't even know how it happened."
She was still explaining when Benjamin suddenly stepped forward and took the dryer from her hand.
He was tall. When he came close, Amelia had to tilt her head back to see him.
"I'll do it." His voice was low. "You look tired holding it."
Amelia was still dazed. Benjamin was already gently running his long, beautiful fingers through her hair, drying it for her.
Her hair was soft and thick.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke.
Time seemed to freeze, but something warm and unspoken quietly filled the air.
Only when the dryer finally clicked off did the silence break.
Benjamin didn't put the dryer away right away.
With his free hand, he reached out and touched her forehead.
He said, "Amelia, your face is really red."
The temperature check made her cheeks burn even hotter.
With Benjamin here today, her face simply refused to cool down!
She couldn't take it anymore. She reached out and pushed at him.
She stammered, "Benjamin, d-don't you have stuff to do? Go take a nap. I'm going to catch Nina and put her down, too. I'm exhausted."
When Amelia got flustered, she started talking like Nina—sentences tumbling over each other.
She finished in a rush and fled the room.
Benjamin watched her hurriedly back, his eyes darkening slightly.
Amelia had escaped, but her heart was still racing.
She lifted both hands and scrubbed her burning cheeks.
"What on earth is Benjamin doing..." she muttered, rubbing her face.
She really couldn't figure him out anymore.
His expression was always so calm.
He was always composed and serious. Yet so many times she had faintly felt... something wasn't quite right.
While Amelia puzzled over it, in the living room, Nina had already started causing chaos.
The nannies wouldn't turn on the TV, so she went looking for the power strip to plug it in herself.
The nannies blocked her in horror.
Nina clutched the strip angrily and refused to let go.
She even started shoving tiny toy pieces into the sockets.
The nannies nearly had heart attacks.
The moment Amelia walked in, they handed the little troublemaker over like she was their savior.
One second Amelia had been thinking about Benjamin's strange behavior; the next, Nina's actions made her eyelids twitch wildly.
"Nina, what are you doing?!" she said through gritted teeth.
"Mommy, turn on TV!"
Nina saw Amelia arrive and still didn't behave.
Dressed in her dinosaur onesie, she really had the courage of a T-Rex!
Amelia had once bought a little shocking toy online just to cure her of playing with electricity.
It had worked back then. Now that she was back with the Grahams, she was clearly getting bold again.
Amelia forced her racing heart to calm and asked as evenly as possible, "If you want the TV on, why not come find Mommy? Why are you messing with the power strip?"
