Miracle Cutie Chapter 487: Lester Knew That

Nina was really getting more and more stubborn these days.

It was like she'd grown smarter and had her own little opinions now.

She asked Amelia to put on a cartoon for her. Amelia opened the video app, but the show required a membership to watch.

Amelia had to sign up for the membership first.

She picked up her phone to buy the subscription and told Nina to wait a minute.

But Nina couldn't wait at all.

She mumbled that she didn't want to wait and demanded to watch it right away.

Amelia got tired of her constant nagging. She pushed away Nina's chubby hands that kept grabbing at the phone and turned her back to set up the membership in peace.

But Nina just leaned in again and kept pestering her once she saw Amelia turn away.

Amelia was completely worn out by her fussing.

She finally bought the membership and turned on the cartoon.

Nina watched for a minute or two, then decided she didn't want it anymore.

She wanted to watch the dinosaur cartoon.

Amelia took a deep breath and switched the show for her.

Nina was getting pickier and pickier about her cartoons.

After switching them several times, Amelia's smile faded, and she looked helpless.

Still, Nina wasn't happy.

She was in a really bad mood that night.

When Amelia saw how upset she was, she tried turning the cartoon off to comfort her.

But as soon as the screen went dark, Nina burst into tears.

Amelia quickly turned it back on.

Nina stayed angry anyway.

Amelia sighed again, at her wits' end.

She'd been calming Nina down for so long that she finally lost her patience.

She put on a stern face and told Nina firmly to stop acting out. "What do you want? Tell me nicely. You can't carry on like this."

Amelia tried reasoning with her, but it was of no use.

Nina wouldn't listen to logic right then.

She cried and reached for the phone, which wasn't doing what she wanted, trying to throw it.

Amelia snapped, "No, Nina."

She grabbed the phone and tapped Nina's little hand.

Nina froze for a second, then cried even louder.

Amelia didn't comfort her this time.

But Daniel, walking past the door, knocked hurriedly in panic.

He called out, "What's wrong with Nina? Can I come in?"

Amelia replied, "She's just throwing a fit. Leave her be."

Even so, she didn't stop Daniel from entering.

Nina was already cleaned up for bed, but Amelia hadn't showered yet.

When Daniel came in and picked Nina up, Amelia let him take her.

She told him, "Take her to Benjamin in the study, please."

After giving Daniel the instruction, Amelia watched him carry Nina away and went to take a shower.

Meanwhile, Nina lay in Daniel's arms, still sobbing her heart out.

Daniel gave her a tiny toy pistol and kept cooing at her gently.

Nina's cries softened a little.

Daniel never got annoyed when calming her down. "Nina, why are you mad at your mommy again? Did she spank you?"

Nina held up her little hand and cried, "Mommy hit."

Daniel held her hand and kissed it twice, then teased her, "She hit your little hand? Should we not want her anymore?"

Nina nodded through her tears and said, "Okay."

Daniel laughed quietly when she actually agreed. He asked her again to be sure.

Nina said okay once more.

Daniel found it amusing.

A little while later, Nina—who had almost stopped crying—suddenly held up the toy pistol and started wailing again.

Nina sobbed, "Un-coo Dan'el, Nina wuv Mommy."

Daniel burst out laughing.

He was totally amused by Nina's little antics.

He repeated his question, "Should we still not want your mommy?"

This time, Nina shook her head firmly.

She whimpered with teary eyes, "No."

She still wanted Amelia.

Daniel knew she would react like this.

Even though Amelia scolded and tapped her sometimes, everyone in the family knew Nina loved her most of all.

Nina said, "Un-coo Dan'el, go Mommy?"

She didn't want to play with Daniel anymore; she wanted to go back to Amelia.

But instead of taking her back to Amelia's room, Daniel took Nina to Benjamin in the study.

Benjamin was on a video call with Lester.

The two were talking about work.

As soon as Nina arrived, she climbed onto Benjamin's lap.

She saw Lester on the screen. "Un-coo Sam!"

She asked him, "Go Nina house?"

When Lester saw chubby Nina in her little strawberry pajamas, a warm smile spread across his face.

He replied, "Yes, I'll come to your house real soon."

It was part of Lester's plan to return home for a visit.

He still hadn't revealed his identity as the Graham family's eldest son to the public. But he had to come back to the Graham Residence eventually.

This was his home, after all.

Benjamin didn't say it out loud, but he wanted Lester to come back, too.

Lester knew that.

Nina asked right after, "You here now?"

Nina had no sense of time at all.

Lester smiled and answered, "I'll be there in a few days."

He chatted with Nina for a long time while Benjamin watched quietly without interrupting.

After their conversation, Benjamin told Nina to say goodbye to Lester.

It was time for Nina to go to bed.

When Benjamin brought Nina back to the bedroom, Amelia had finished showering.

She was blow-drying her hair.

As soon as Nina saw Amelia, she ran over on her chubby legs and hugged her leg tight.
