Miracle Cutie Chapter 508: No Longer Pestering Barry
Amelia glanced where Nina had been looking and instantly understood why she'd suddenly turned sweet.
The corner of her mouth twitched.
She was truly impressed by how scheming Nina could be.
Nina hugged Amelia's leg and begged, "Mommy, hug Nina."
Amelia really didn't feel like picking her up. "Go ask Daddy to hold you."
Nina replied, "Yes."
She trotted over on her short legs, happily asking Benjamin for a hug.
Even though Benjamin had locked her outside that morning, he still lifted her when she came over.
Nina hadn't even settled properly on his arm before she wrapped her arms around his neck and tilted her head. "Daddy, go play?"
Benjamin said, "No."
Nina froze, ready to throw a fit.
Benjamin said calmly, "We're going to Jane's house."
Nina said, "Yeah!"
She was thrilled again.
Overjoyed, she pouted and kissed Benjamin.
Nina babbled, "Daddy, Nina wuw you."
Benjamin sighed inwardly.
He didn't believe her for a second.
The three of them were soon ready to go.
They picked up the prepared gifts and headed for Wilson Villa.
Nina chattered nonstop in the car.
She asked, "Mommy, no Grandpa?"
Amelia replied, "Grandpa's not coming. He's busy today."
Nina said, "Mommy, red!"
Amelia said, "Right. Red means stop, green means go. We stop at red lights."
Nina asked, "Why stop?"
Amelia explained, "So cars from other directions can go. If we don't stop, we'll crash."
Nina asked, "Cwash Nina?"
Amelia said, "Yes."
Nina asked again, "Why cwash Nina?"
Amelia sighed, "Because Nina didn't stop at the red light."
Nina asked once again, "Why stop?"
Amelia sighed and tugged Benjamin's arm, asking him to handle Nina's endless questions.
Seeing Amelia was at her wits' end, Benjamin pulled Nina onto his lap and started answering.
Nina had been asking "why" about everything lately.
Benjamin had mentioned it to Lester, who'd immediately called him out.
Lester had said, "You were exactly the same as a kid. You had way more questions than she did. Don't act like your daughter's the only one."
Benjamin, who was always being exposed by Lester, ignored him for an entire day after that lecture.
The car sped along, and just before Benjamin also grew tired of answering, they reached their destination.
Nina said, "Daddy, we here!"
Benjamin smiled, "Yep. Let's get out."
Nina sat between Benjamin and Amelia, too impatient to wait for them to exit first—she tried to climb out alone.
Outside, Barry had been waiting for Nina, knowing she was coming.
Barry called, "Nina!"
He was just as eager, calling her name over and over.
Nina, already in a rush, grew even more frantic at the sound of his voice.
She said, "Mommy, hurry!"
Amelia sighed, "Alright, alright, I'm hurrying. Don't worry—Barry will wait for you."
She lifted Nina down from the car.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, Nina threw herself into Barry's arms.
Nina said, "Nina miss Barry."
Barry said happily, "I missed you, too!"
He held her chubby little body tight and snuggled close.
After only a few seconds, Nina tilted her face up and asked, "Barry, hug Nina?"
She wanted Barry to pick her up and carry her.
Barry hesitated. He couldn't lift her.
Even before he got sick, he could barely get her feet off the ground.
Now, still recovering from his illness, he didn't have the strength.
Amelia, carrying the gifts from the car, reminded Nina, "Nina, walk by yourself. Barry's still sick. Don't tire him out."
Nina blinked and finally behaved, no longer pestering Barry.
The two little ones held hands and ran off to play, with Barry showing Nina his new toys.
With the kids gone, the grown-ups could chat peacefully.
Sarah, Russell, and Tanner were also there.
The whole house was lively. Tanner had been sitting quietly with everyone, listening even though he didn't say much.
But his peace didn't last—Nina spotted him.
She grew very affectionate toward him the second she saw him.
Nina called sweetly, "Un-coo Tanner!"
She even climbed onto his lap and sat down.
Tanner was quite fond of this friendly, pretty little girl.
He looked down and asked, "Are you tired from running?"
He'd seen her dashing around nonstop.
Nina's cheeks were pink from running, but she shook her head and said she wasn't tired.
She grabbed Tanner's hand, begging him to play with her and Barry.
