Rumors said Lester was adopted, and Benjamin had heard them too.

But Benjamin never paid much attention.

Lester's family had plenty of shady businesses. Benjamin wanted nothing to do with it.

The rivalry between them so far hadn't involved their respective powerful families.

Amelia listened quietly.

After hearing him out, she didn't say anything more.

Benjamin didn't want any unnecessary ties to Lester. Once they finished their business here, they should go home. After that, they really wouldn't have any reason to interact with Lester.

While the adults talked on the balcony, Nina and Nelson played with Drew in the backyard for a while before giving up.

Drew didn't want to play with Nina anymore. It used to like her, but Nina was too little and played too rough.

Drew felt like it was losing too much fur. To avoid being plucked further, Drew took the initiative, grabbed its leash, and handed it to Edward, wanting him to take it for a walk.

Edward and Drew made a hasty retreat. With no dog to play with, Nina wasn't discouraged. She plopped down on the grass and called Lester.

"Hello!" Nina chirped happily once it connected. "Get Nina? Nina out! To your house."

Nina hadn't said goodbye when she left earlier. Now, she wasn't about to say goodbye either. She wanted to go visit Lester's place.

Lester raised an eyebrow at the little guest's declaration. "You really want to come over?"

Nina's response was a vigorous nod. "Nina play!"

She was incredibly enthusiastic about visiting, agreeing without a second's hesitation.

Lester, watching Nina's eagerness, slowed his tone, teasing her, "I wish I could pick you up. But your daddy won't allow it.

"So, Nina, I'm sorry. I can't come get you."

He had asked if she wanted to visit, only to tell her she couldn't after she agreed. This rollercoaster had Nina bursting into tears on the spot.

"Nina go! You come! Waaah, hug me!"

Nina cried, asking Lester to come hold her.

Seeing her get so upset that she started crying, Lester stopped teasing.

"Alright, don't cry. Dry your tears," he said, his voice gentle and soothing. "I'll figure out a way to get you here."

As Lester promised to find a way, Nina sniffled and raised a hand to pat her own head.

She was mimicking a cartoon character thinking. In the show, the character would pat its head, then jump, and a good idea would pop up.

Nina scrambled up from the grass and did the same motion.

"Nina think!" she said seriously, scrunching up her chubby face, determined to figure out how to get to Lester herself.

Lester and Nina were both trying to come up with a plan. Before Nina could think of anything, her good friend Tina arrived for a visit, bringing Anya along.

Tina had to put in a lot of effort to bring Anya out.

Elizabeth was getting a bit wary of Nina. She was genuinely worried Nina still wanted her Anya.

So, Tina had begged Elizabeth for a long time at home before finally getting permission to take Anya out.

The nanny accompanying the two girls this time was the one Elizabeth trusted most. Elizabeth had stressed when the children left: keep a close eye on them.

Elizabeth's worries were a bit unnecessary. Even though Nina liked Anya a lot, she really didn't want her anymore.

Amelia and Benjamin said if Anya stayed, Amelia would have to hold and rock her all the time, and she would sleep with Amelia.

The two got along well and played happily. Nina, the little chatterbox, shared all sorts of things with Tina.

She even mentioned wanting to visit Lester but not knowing how to get there. Benjamin wouldn't let her.

Tina, true to being the partner-in-crime who helped steal a baby with Nina, had a clever little mind. While Nina was pondering a solution, Tina offered a crucial suggestion.

"Be a package!" Tina declared. "Nina, you can be a package. Like a present! My cousin came that way."

Tina's words were a bit jumbled, but her meaning was clear. Her cousin had once hidden inside a delivery box, pretending to be a package, and had appeared in front of her as a gift.
