Miracle Cutie Chapter 356: Let's Stay One Night

Trevor's phone was playing music.

Nina clutched it tightly, singing along with her little mouth.

Her chubby body swayed happily to the rhythm.

She giggled with pure delight, though Trevor's face showed absolutely no trace of enjoyment.

Amelia watched the scene and felt utterly embarrassed.

Trevor looked like he'd been thoroughly worn down by Nina.

"Nina, Mommy's here." Amelia hurried over and opened her arms. "Come to Mommy for a hug."

Her voice rang out. Nina, still wiggling to the music, flashed a big grin at her.

"Mommy!" Nina shouted happily.

She held Trevor's phone in both hands but obediently let Amelia lift her up.

Amelia cradled her close and asked gently, "Nina, did you miss Mommy?"

Nina's voice was sweet as honey. "Miss Mommy!"

Amelia kissed her cheek and continued softly, "Mommy missed you so much, too. Do you want to go home with Mommy now?"

Nina shook her head firmly. "No." For some reason, even Amelia couldn't convince her to leave.

She was determined to stay and play.

Amelia tried every gentle and firm approach she could think of. In the end, Nina burst into loud sobs again.

Nelson had watched Nina cry multiple times already that evening. Propping himself up on his small crutch, he hobbled over to Amelia.

"We have lots of rooms here. Can you stay tonight?"

Nelson extended the invitation to Amelia.

Amelia paused, instinctively glancing at Benjamin.

Benjamin's gaze rested on Nina, whose eyelids were puffy from crying. His brows had been furrowed for a long while.

He knew exactly how stubborn Nina could be when she dug in her heels.

He and Amelia could force her to leave, but it would only lead to another round of tears.

Looking at Nina sweating from crying so hard—her forehead damp and baby hairs plastered to her skin—Benjamin took her from Amelia's arms and spoke quietly, "Let's stay one night. We'll leave tomorrow."

Nina was only excited because it was new. Once the novelty wore off tomorrow, she wouldn't insist on staying anymore.

Amelia let out a small sigh.

She felt it was too much of an imposition, but Nina really was impossible to handle right now.

She didn't immediately agree with Benjamin. Instead, she looked toward Trevor.

He was the master of the house. If they were going to stay, they needed his permission.

Meeting Amelia's questioning gaze, Trevor replied coldly, "Pick any guest room on the second floor.

"Don't come to my room. I'm in the farthest east wing." With that, he turned to leave.

But when he saw Nelson still leaning on his crutch, Trevor paused. After a few seconds, he bent down and lifted Nelson into his arms, carrying him away.

The moment Nina saw Nelson being taken, she panicked. "Where you go!"

Before Nelson could answer, Trevor replied flatly, "He's going to take a bath."

Since Trevor had agreed to bathe Nelson, he wouldn't go back on his word.

He carried Nelson off to bathe, and Nina immediately wanted to follow.

This time, Benjamin stopped her.

"Nelson is taking a bath. You need one too."

Benjamin carried Nina and chose a random guest room.

The room had a bathtub. He filled it with warm water and let Amelia bathe her.

Meanwhile, he went back to fetch clean clothes for himself and Amelia.

With the tub full, Nina finally settled down once she was in the water.

She loved playing in water more than anything.

"Mommy, where my ducky?"

Nina had once had a whole set of floating rubber ducks that Amelia bought for bath time.

But Nina scattered her toys everywhere. The ducks had long since disappeared.

Amelia had no idea where they were now.

Still, she soothed her gently. "We'll buy new little duckies after your bath. For now, play with your little car."

Nina always needed toys during baths.

She had quite a few bath toys.

While Nina played, Amelia washed her body and then shampooed her hair.

"Mommy, no hair!"

Nina loved baths but hated having her hair washed.

Amelia always poured water straight over her head.

The water blinded her, and she'd scream and thrash, trying to escape.

Amelia was used to it. In no time at all, she had Nina clean and slippery again.

After the bath, Nina wanted to soak a little longer.

While she sat happily in the water, Amelia turned to grab a towel.

It only took a few seconds.

When she turned back, Nina wasn't playing with her toys anymore. Instead, she had scooped up a handful of bathwater and taken a sip.

Amelia jumped in right away. "No! This water isn't clean, don't drink it! Drink this, and Mommy will spank your mouth!"
