After Samuel had disappeared, he had been taken by Philip and had not lived an easy life.

Little Benjamin, who had lost Samuel, had almost not survived either.

He had a stubborn temper. After just one day without seeing Samuel, he had started demanding him from William.

William had also been heartbroken and had not been able to produce Samuel. He had told Benjamin he was looking for him.

William had had many people search the sea, but they had never found him.

Little Benjamin had known that Samuel had disappeared into the sea. He had jumped in several times.

He had not known how to swim; he had just jumped straight in. Luckily, someone had always been watching him. Each time he had jumped, they had fished him out in time.

After he had jumped in repeatedly, William had taken Benjamin back home.

Once home, Benjamin had thrown a massive tantrum. He had been furious.

He had started refusing food. But this time, there had been no Samuel to coax him.

He had been taken to the hospital and put on an IV for nutrients. He had raged for a very, very long time.

In the end, someone had told him Samuel was dead.

He had lunged at them and started throwing punches.

In the end, he had not been hurt or even lost the fight. But he had thrown his head back and wailed, crying his heart out.

After Samuel was gone, Benjamin stopped caring about Christmas.

He no longer cared about Christmas money.

Now, when Lester brought up giving him Christmas money, his handsome face tightened, his voice stiff. "I don't need it," he said flatly. "You always give the Christmas money and then act poor, making me pay you back."

Lester laughed at that. "I'm your big brother. You're supposed to help me out a little, aren't you? Alright, don't just stand there. Come sit."

Lester could hear the hoarseness in Benjamin's voice. He could see the emotions Benjamin was fighting back, the tightly clenched fists.

He pretended not to notice any of it. He opened his tablet, changing the subject.

"Take a look at these manufacturers for me. They've been teaming up lately, trying to give me a hard time," he said. "I'm thinking of picking one first to teach a lesson."

Lester spoke as if everything was normal, pointing at the list on the tablet for Benjamin to see.

Benjamin looked down at the names. After a few seconds, he spoke up, "I told them to do it. To give you trouble on purpose."

Lester paused. In the end, he just clicked his tongue. "Fine," he said. "I won't deal with them. Tell them to behave from now on."

They talked business. Discussing these matters slowly drew Benjamin's focus away, and his mood improved noticeably.

Seeing his expression ease, Lester told him to pour a glass of water. Benjamin was surprisingly agreeable this time and brought him one.

If this had been when he was a kid, getting Benjamin to bring him a glass of water would have ended with Benjamin throwing the cup.

"You should have some water too," Lester said.

Lester took the cup and drank about half of it in one go.

After drinking, he handed the cup back to Benjamin. Benjamin set it on the table for him.

Lester kept ordering Benjamin to do these little tasks. He was starting to enjoy it.

As kids, Benjamin had been impossible to boss around. Now that he was an adult, Lester could actually get him to do things. It felt refreshing.

Lester didn't get to order Benjamin around for long before the door was suddenly shoved open. Daniel, who had been eavesdropping by the door, stumbled in.

Seeing him fall in, Benjamin frowned. "What are you doing?"

"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to come in and see," Daniel said, getting up and moving to stand close to Benjamin.

He lowered his voice. "Benjamin," he whispered. "Are you sure? Is he really Samuel?"

Daniel had never met Samuel. He was a complete stranger to Daniel, so his sudden return felt utterly unreal.

Looking at Daniel, who clearly wasn't eager to accept this brother, Benjamin's tone was cold and final. "It's him. There's no mistake. He's your biological brother too. From now on, if you have nothing else to do, stay here."

Benjamin left Daniel there, telling him to take care of Lester alongside him.

Daniel still listened to Benjamin. The three brothers stayed in the same hospital room. It didn't take long for Daniel to realize he couldn't handle the atmosphere.

"Benjamin, maybe I should go check on Nina? Where is Nina?" he asked. "How come she didn't come to the hospital with you today?"

Daniel didn't know how to interact with Lester. To avoid it, he wanted to go find Nina.

Seeing that Daniel couldn't stay put, Benjamin didn't force him. "Nina's with Amelia. If you want to find her, ask Amelia."

The moment Benjamin finished speaking, Daniel didn't wait a second longer. He left eagerly.

Watching Daniel leave, Benjamin turned back to Lester. His handsome face was serious as he spoke, his tone half explanation, half casual remark.

"Daniel's never met you. He has no memory of you. Later on, he'll accept you as his brother."

Even though Benjamin often beat up Daniel, it wasn't like he didn't care about Daniel at all.
