Nina looked so pitiful talking about her tears that Amelia's heart ached. She leaned in and kissed her softly, deciding she would spend more time on the drive tomorrow, coaxing her gently.

Time passed steadily.

The sky soon grew completely dark. Nina clung to the adults more than usual tonight.

She made her rounds, sticking to everyone. Finally, she ended up in Benjamin's arms. "Daddy... hurt?"

Nina still remembered Benjamin's wound.

Benjamin held her with one hand and replied, "It doesn't hurt anymore."

They were hugging closely when Benjamin's phone suddenly rang.

He couldn't free a hand to answer and tried to set Nina down first.

But Nina's chubby little hands were quick.

The caller ID showed Chloe.

"It's your Aunt Chloe's call." Benjamin saw the display too. He told Nina, "Nina, say hello."

Little social butterfly Nina didn't feel shy at all. She opened her mouth and called out, "Auntie Chloe!"

She finished calling, but the other side didn't respond right away.

There was an "uh" sound, then an uncertain question. "Excuse me, is Benjamin there?"

The voice wasn't a woman's. It was a man's.

Nina heard the voice and tilted her little head. She kept chatting on her own. "I good baby! I go to school!"

Nina wanted to talk more. Benjamin sensed something was wrong and took the phone from her plump hand.

"This is Chloe's brother, Benjamin," he said.

The man on the line realized it was Benjamin and said urgently, "Chloe could be in trouble. I found the gear she always carries. She had agreed on a time to come out with me, but I haven't seen her.

"I'm only able to call you using her phone now."

The report darkened Benjamin's expression instantly.

"I understand. Send me the address. I'm heading there now."

Benjamin got the man's contact details.

After adding each other, the man sent a location.

Benjamin booked a ticket right away and informed William and Daniel that he had to leave.
