Julia flinched, then masked that flash of shock with a smirk. "What could I possibly do to him? I don't kiss dead men.

"Lucas is fully awake.

"He kissed me back. You heard everything through that wall, didn't you? Lucas noticed me years ago. My beauty was seared into his memory back then."

She leaned in, whispering, "He was super passionate just now. Want me to describe everywhere he touched?"

Sherry snapped.

She pinched Julia hard and grabbed at her mouth, nearly tearing it off. "You lying bitch. Lucas would never touch you. He'd never kiss something as filthy as you!"

He did kiss her—and he was smooth, almost took her apart piece by piece and swallowed her whole. If Sherry hadn't barged in, the two of them would've been one by now.

She knew few women could rival her skills at seduction—and Lucas wasn't immune.

But she couldn't say any of that. Sherry was practically tearing her lips off.

Then the beating began.

Everyone in the hallway sobered up fast. That voice—it was definitely Sherry.
