She charged toward the crowd, but Cathy grabbed her arm.

"Miss Harrison, don't waste your breath on them. They're nobodies. And if anyone sees you like this..."

Heather had no choice but to swallow her rage.

The two stumbled through the mocking stares until they found a business belonging to the Harrison Group.

Heather marched inside with as much dignity as she could muster.

"Get your manager. Tell him I'm a Harrison. I need a hundred grand now and a new set of clothes."

"A Harrison?" The receptionist paled and immediately called the manager.

Heather finally felt in control again—until she saw Juan staring at her.

Juan had just walked in, and their eyes locked.

"What are you looking at? I'm a Harrison! Keep staring and I'll have you fired!"

The manager arrived at that exact moment.

Heather lifted her chin and crossed her legs.

Instead, the manager walked straight to Juan and said quietly, "This is Heather."

Of all places, she just had to show up here.

Juan waved the manager away.

"You know who I am and you still dare speak to me like that? I'll make sure you never work for the Harrisons again!"

Heather stared at Juan in disbelief.

Cathy recognized Juan as one of Sherry's friends and stepped forward aggressively.

"You're Sherry's friend! You're doing this on purpose to humiliate Miss Harrison! The Harrisons will ruin you for crossing them.

"Let's be real—Sherry is garbage. And you? Hanging out with her makes you just as low. You're both groveling down there. Be our lapdog, and we might just give you a decent job.

"Then you can fetch water and pour coffee, just like her."

In their minds, Sherry only deserved cleaning jobs. The Bode family had once made her clean toilets just to save money on a janitor.

Pouring coffee was a promotion. They'd fight over it.
