Even Edward thought his mother was beyond reason.

"Mom, who told you it was some small company? It's the biggest entertainment firm in the country. Why would you pick a fight with them?"

Claire suddenly pointed at Teresa.

"It was her! That idiot made me go! She wanted the invitation, couldn't get it herself, so she sent me to make a fool of me!

"Figures she's not my blood. That stray from outside has a rotten heart! She set me up on purpose to make me look like a fool!"

Teresa immediately dropped to her knees.

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault. Blame me. I only asked Mom to get the invitation from Sherry. With it, our company could launch successfully.

"Dad will keep the largest share. Our old business isn't profitable anymore. It was only a matter of time. He's kept it going this long—no one else could have."

The flattery worked perfectly.

Joseph was already tired of struggling to keep the failing business alive.

"Fine. Do as you say."

The largest shares were technically Edward's. He would have to give them up to Joseph.

He'd run the company for years, built it up—how could he just hand it over?

But Teresa was the one who pulled this entertainment company together, so he couldn't say much.

And Joseph would never let go of power.

Joseph signed all the Campbell family shares over to Teresa right away, already dreaming of being the boss of an entertainment company.

Claire's face twisted from rage to greedy disbelief.

Who cared about shares? She only cared about cold, hard cash—three times more than before.

Even Dale took a stake. This was his industry, after all, so he signed himself to their new label.

As for Bryan?

No one cared about him.

Now that the entertainment company would make bank, they'd just pay him a monthly allowance to keep him quiet.

Dale patted Teresa's shoulder. "You've been through a lot. Mom's just like that."

Claire huffed, "I'm the one who suffered! She owes me these shares after I raised her all these years."

Claire didn't look the slightest bit grateful. She hid the contract away like a treasure.

Teresa smiled and took Dale's hand. "Dale, we're family. What's mine is yours."

The whole group surrounded her, praising her like a hero.

"But what about everything online?" someone asked.

That was the real problem.

"We'll make a statement: the Campbell family is declaring bankruptcy. We'll give Sherry what she wants. We beg her to spare us."

Let the public think they'd gone bankrupt just to apologize to Sherry.

A whole family going bankrupt—that sounded way worse than anything Sherry had endured.

People would pity them.
