Sherry almost laughed out loud. How dare he claim she'd lived well with Gilbert?

Henry's eyes widened in disbelief. "What are you saying? You were sick and didn't go to your husband's hospital? Who would believe that?"

"Most of the time, it was just a cold. I went to neighborhood clinics for pills or shots."

Henry blinked, stunned. He never imagined the high-and-mighty Mrs. Bode would go to small local clinics when she was ill.

It had never even crossed his mind. He'd had no idea Sherry had ever caught a cold.
