The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 104

The time seemed to fly by and now there are only three days left before the full blood moon. Everyone is making preparations and going over last-minute battle plans. All of us have been on edge the past few days, so we decided when we are done going over the plans one final time, that everyone should go and do something to relax. I’ve been stressed so much lately that the girls decided they wanted to have a girl's night with me. Now I know what they said their reasons are for having this girl’s night, but I know the real reason is because I’m alone and they all have their mates here. I appreciate their offer, but I tell them to go and be with their loved ones and that I just wanted to be alone. I’d have Alex back after the blood moon no matter the outcome and that in itself has me stressed.

“Moon Goddess, I don’t know why you’re allowing things to be this way, but I am sure you have your reasons. Please let Alex come back and be alright after all of this craziness. I know he won’t be the same but help me to be able to help him. You told me that I would have to choose whether to stay with him or not and I am choosing to stay with him no matter what, but just give me the strength to endure it all.” I pray to the Moon Goddess before taking a shower and climbing into my bed with a book. Sitting in bed reading makes me think about all the times I’d done this while Alex was next to me finishing some paperwork. Every now and then he would lean over and kiss me on the forehead and go back to his work. When he was done, he’d lay with his head in my lap until I was done reading. Sometimes he would get impatient and take my book from my hands and toss it on the nightstand before ridding me of my clothes and we’d make love before going to sleep. Those were nights that he’d usually had a not so good day.

When I awoke the next morning I went for a run, then I went for training, and had lunch before going to the other packs to visit our pack members and to make sure everyone that was fighting was ready. They were all just as stressed as we were, but I made sure they knew that fighting was optional. Alex and I had a great army and over 90% had stayed loyal to us during this trying time. Once we were done checking on everyone it was almost dinner time. My parents took all of us out to eat for dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant. We all laughed and talked about when Nick, Renee, Zach, and I were kids and the things we got into. Shaniece, David, Ethan, and even Michelle was in tears laughing at the things we did as children. Being raised in the palace they didn’t have the freedoms that we had so they were amazed at all that we did. Like the time we all skipped school to go swimming and ended up getting attacked by an alligator.

After dinner I went to my room to shower and change before once again picking up a book and reading. I needed to relax because the next two days would be over before we knew it and no matter what happened our lives would be changed. We were confident that we could win the fight, but we weren’t confident at what cost. This battle would be both physically and mentally draining on all of us, but it will be nothing compared to what Alex will be going through when he is no longer trapped. I’m still not even understanding why this whole situation even happened. I get Tobias and Bellevue’s actions, but this dark side of Alex has me totally confused.

As I predicted, the next two days passed in a blur and tonight is the night of the full blood moon. My nerves are shot and I think it is safe to say that the others are feeling the same. Most of them chose to stay with their families for as long as they could. Yesterday all the members of our army gathered here and I’m glad we were able to accommodate them all. Alex was not exaggerating when he said his army consisted of millions. How does one amass such an army? I don’t know if they have been there since the first king or if these are Lycans and wolves only loyal to Alex. Whatever the case, I am grateful to have them on our side. Tabitha helped us as much as she could, but it would be so much better if she could fight with us. She did manage to help Shayla control her powers better, but she still isn’t ready to help us yet. We are going to have her protect the elderly and children in the bunker.

I’m standing in the middle of the courtyard watching everyone gather and praying that nobody loses their life tonight. All I can think about is how much pain it caused Alex when we lost all of those people the last time, especially David. If he came back to that devastation, I don’t think he’ll make it. I can’t bring back that many people by myself like he can and even he needed a boost every now and then. I mimic his powers, but I’m basically a battery for him to recharge. My powers aren’t meant to be used for long periods of time. This battle will be draining but I’ll do whatever it takes to make us victorious and more importantly to get my mate back.

Tabitha’s POV

I refused to tell him who marked me and instead just told him that I took care of the situation. He looked at me as though he didn’t believe me but I didn’t care. Helping the others and Shayla was becoming very difficult, so I made one last trip and then ended all communication. I hate that I am hurting my daughter, but it has to be this way. She and my mate have lived their lives this long without me and will continue to do so without me. I’ve taught her the basics and left her my book of shadows so that she can practice more and grow. That is the least that I can do for her. Sticking around is not an option. The full blood moon is fast approaching, and my death is imminent. There is no turning back now no matter what I’m feeling for her or him.

Every time that I visited that pack Dylan tried to talk to me and I blew him off every time until he cornered me in the conference room. He wanted me to give him and us a chance, but I stood my ground. There is no way that I was going to succumb to another mate bond. Nobody was going to convince me otherwise that giving it a chance was a good thing for me to do. When I tried to walk past him, he grabbed my arm and pulled me against his chest. I squirmed to get free, and he held me tighter before smashing his lips against mine and kissing me with so much passion that I was breathless when we pulled apart. Once I caught my breath and regained my senses he was smiling, and I slapped him in the face. Shock was on his face as well as mine because I have no idea why I slapped him. Instead of dwelling on it I decided to transport out of the room. He opened his mouth to say something, and I quickly ported away.

That seems so long ago, and I haven’t been back there since that day. On top of everything that happened there, Alex was getting more suspicious of my private time away from him and the palace. I told him that it is necessary for a witch, but he just gives me a look that tells me he doesn’t think I’m telling him the truth. He thinks I’m running off to be with my mate and I got upset with his accusation and yelled at him that if I wanted to be with my mate then that is my business and not his. I know that I am tempting his anger but at this point I know longer care because my end is near anyway. That day I made the decision to never go back to the pack again and I called and talked with Freya telling her that a package would be coming for my daughter and to tell her I’m sorry that I can’t come back. I told her what was going on with Alex and that me leaving was getting dangerous. She said that she understood and thought that Shayla would as well. When she asked me about Dylan I ended the call.
