The next morning everyone went off and conducted the duties that were given to them. Nobody seemed to have a problem working together and that was a relief because Goddess knows we didn’t need any more problems. Lunchtime seemed to come and go quickly because before I knew it, the time had come to help Alex with reviving the soldiers. I was surprised to find out that the night before he was actually able to revive over 1,000 alone without the power boost. Today we are hoping to do more. There were nearly 9,000 that perished and more than that were injured, but they are being treated in the hospital.

Weeks passed and we were able to save almost all of the dead warriors. The process took a toll on myself as well as Alex. He slept for three days after the last set of warriors and that had me and the others worried. When he finally woke up, he had some much food that I am surprised he doesn’t weigh 600lbs. now, but he is still as sexy as ever. He actually looks like he has more muscles. Once he recovered, he threw himself into helping with the rebuilding and then left for a while to check on the places his Lycan and wolf ran through. If there was any damage, he helped get them fixed and even compensated some of the rogue families. Everything was going great and then the unthinkable happened.

Alex came home and he was absolutely livid when he was given the news.

“All I want to know; is how in the hell did he escape and also manage to take Tabitha’s body with him? Someone better give me an answer...NOW!”

“Baby, try to stay calm. We’ll figure this out.”

“Stay calm? You want me to stay calm when the reason for the hell everyone has gone through is because of Bellevue and Tabitha! Now they are on the loose and we don’t know where they are or how he escaped.”

I gently rub his back and try to calm him down so he doesn’t start destroying things. He visibly started to relax until someone came running in to bring more bad news.

“Your majesty, we found the witches, and some of them had their necks slit in their sleep. The surviving witches are on their way here to talk to you.”

His body tensed up at the news and I kept rubbing circles into his back. I can’t wait until things finally get back to normal. There hasn’t been a moment of peace since I found my mate. I’ve had enough of all the chaos to be honest. I feel his arms circle my waist and I look up at him to see my eyes have turned red through the reflection in his eyes.

“I’m just so frustrated. Ever since we’ve found each other, there has been one incident after another. I just want us to have a little peace, at least as much peace as a royal couple can have anyway.”

If he gets into her head and messes up all of the progress, they were making...” I sigh as I follow his train of thought.

“Then we’ll be facing another damn war and possibly one more deadly than the last one.”

He runs his hand over his face and nods. We have to do something about Mr. Bellevue. What I can’t understand is his motive for taking Tabitha. I’m sure he doesn’t know that her powers have been stripped or that she is basically in a magical coma that I’m sure he doesn’t have any idea how to break. She is basically useless to him in this condition. Sure, his mate rejected him, and his daughter wants nothing to do with him, as well as told everything he has been doing, so why not just run away by yourself and try to live? This course of action makes no sense to me.

In my mind I saw us meeting and getting to know each other better, which we did, and then just planning our futures and running our pack together. Never in a million years did I think that I would be mated to the Lycan King and get kidnapped before my coronation ceremony. It has been a whirlwind of events and not all of them have been good. We are definitely going on a vacation when all of this is over.

We pulled apart from each other and headed back to our bedroom. Alex showers first, and I search for a book to read until he finishes. When he is done, I go into the bathroom and strip before setting the temperature in the shower and stepping inside. The hot water massages my shoulders and other muscles. Once I was more relaxed, I started to wash and condition my hair and then my body. I turn off the water and am almost sad that I’m getting out. Wrapping one towel around my hair first, I step onto the shower mat and grab another towel to wrap around my waist. “I love this shower more than anything in the world.” Strong arms wrap around my waist, and I feel his nose skimming along my neck as he breathes in my scent. “So, you love the shower more than anything in the world, do you? Where does that leave me, my little mate?” He kisses my mate mark, and a soft moan leaves my lips while a shiver runs down my spine. I giggle.
