The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 86

The days seemed to fly by, and today is the night of the full moon. There hasn’t been any news of Bellevue or the dark witches and nothing out of the ordinary seemed to be wrong with Alex. We had all been watching him closely these days leading up to today for any changes that would indicate he was turning evil. Other than his frustration at us and the situation, there have been no changes. The staff have been running all over the place getting things ready for tonight’s party. Part of me is hoping that nothing will go wrong, and that Bellevue will give up on his plans, but there is this nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach that something is going to happen tonight, and it will not be good.

Alex left early this morning to handle paperwork and to meet with the patrols to make sure that security has been tripled around the border and had been advised not to let anyone in or out throughout the party. We had everything we needed so there were going to be no deliveries or any suppliers showing up. Everyone’s mood had changed over the last week from being very worried to only slightly worried. They seemed happy for the most part and that was very good. We all could use some fun tonight. I’m currently lying in my tub taking a relaxing bubble bath with lavender oil and it feels great. Well, it did until a few minutes ago when I kept getting mind-links from Renee and Shayla telling me that I better not be late for hair and makeup. I’m perfectly capable of combing my own hair and I don’t need makeup. I’ve always hated the stuff and will not start wearing it now. A little colored and flavored lip gloss is all I need. Besides, Alex prefers me without makeup also, so there is no need to even waste time buying the stuff.

Finally, I decided to wash and get out of the tub and start getting myself ready. Once I am done drying off, I put on my undergarments and then sit at my vanity and comb out my long curly jet-black hair. My mother used to ask me why I don’t cut my hair so that it is easier to manage, and I always told her that I manage my hair just fine. She would ask me if I would cut it if my mate asked and I told her that if he can’t accept my hair then that is on him, but I’m not cutting my hair.

Once my hair is combed out, I add some product to my hair to prevent frizzing and then lotion my body. When done, I mind-link the girls to let them know that I am ready for the torture to begin. They laugh and say they are on their way to my room. It was decided that we would all just get ready in my room since Alex was going to be out and David and Ethan would be with him. They are excited about getting all dressed up, and normally I would be just as excited, but there is still that nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach. Alex mind-links me and I know that it is because he can feel my anxiety through our bond.

“Freya, what’s wrong?” he says to me.

“I’m just a little anxious about tonight. I feel like something is going to happen.”

“Don’t stress yourself about something that may or may not happen. Look, we’ve prepared ourselves for the worst-case scenario, so lets just enjoy the party with our friends and handle whatever else comes if or when it comes.”

“You’re right. Our friends and people deserve to have some fun for one night, and seeing their future Queen looking like she knows something bad is going to happen will make them freak out. I’ll splash some water on my face and get myself together before Renee and Shayla get here.”

“That’s my girl. I’ll see you at the party. I’m almost done here and then I have to head back to the office to finish up a few things before getting dressed. You should be out of the room by then I’m assuming.” I can practically see the smile on his face at the last part. He knows how much I hate having people do my hair and how I hate makeup even more.

“Yes, I will be out of the room by then. Your tux is hanging up on the door of the closet and your shoes are laid out on the floor underneath it. Wear that cologne that I love, and you are all set.”

“Thanks babe. I’ll be sure to put it on just for you tonight. I wish you would have allowed me to do your coronation and Luna ceremony tonight.”

“Not this again. With everything we are already dealing with, I don’t want to add getting kidnapped again to the list. Then again, this time it would more than likely be you that gets kidnapped. No, we are going to just wait until everything is dealt with and then we can have both celebrations.” I hear him sigh before he speaks again.

“I know you’re right. I’m just ready to have you become my Queen and Luna lawfully.”

“I can’t wait to be your Queen and Luna also.” The scents of Renee and Shayla hit my nose and I quickly told Alex that I had to go but would talk to him later. He told me that he loved me, and I said that I loved him too before we cut the link.

They walked into my room with the hair and makeup teams following close behind them. Why didn’t I just run away and stay gone until thirty minutes before the party started? That’s a question I have been asking myself all morning. My wolf and Lycan both laugh at me, and I just roll my eyes. They are no help.

“Are you ready to get beautified?” Shayla asks me. I roll my eyes at both of them and sit down at my vanity.

“Let the torture begin.” I say and they both laugh at me.

Unkown POV

While everyone was getting ready for the party in the kingdom, others were getting ready to cause trouble. Bellevue got a tip that the king was sending people into the woods near his bunker to look for him. They don’t know how the king knew where to look, but his source told him that he should move out of there quickly, so he did. For the past few weeks, he has been living in an apartment on the outskirts of the human city. With all the smells around, it was easy for him to blend in until the time came for him to make his move to take over the kingdom. The dark witch coven had been working tirelessly on a way to awaken Tabitha and on the spell to put the king under their control. Once he finally has Alexander and Tabitha under his control, there would be nothing standing in his way to take over the kingdom and rid himself of the royal family.

The dark witches were off somewhere deep in the forest preparing the final touches of the potion. The head which took the vial with Alexander’s blood and lifted the vial high for all to see. The red contents seemed to be shining as if it was made of magic instead of mere blood. They all begin to stand in a circle and link their hands together. The head witch stands over a cauldron that is lit by a magical fire, and she starts to pour in five different ingredients. Then she tells the other witches to begin, and they all begin chanting together.

“Evil spirits from the other side

Come forth and hear our cries

We, your daughters have been wronged

And seek revenge on this night long

Underneath the pale moonlight

Hear our plea

Grant us vengeance on this night

Bind the king to our fight

Bind him! Bind him! Bind him now!”

They repeated the chant over and over again. The wind started to pick up and blew leaves and twigs all around them. The faster they chanted the faster the wind seemed to blow. The head witch poured the contents of the vial into the cauldron and it bubbled violently. After a few seconds the contents of the cauldron started to calm and so did the wind and the chants. Once it was completely quiet in the forest, they watched as the liquid inside the cauldron turned from a vibrant orange color to a dark purple. Using a dropper, the head witch extracted the contents and filled up another glass vial then held it out for them all to see.

“Now we wait until nightfall just before the full moon is at its highest before we make the Lycan King ours!”
