The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 108
He chuckles softly but I managed to still be able to hear the sound.
“He actually told you some information about our kind that’s worthwhile. That’s good, but he forgot to tell you that he is different. You don’t have this ability because I can sense all of yours and this is not one of them. My grandfather had me track down the former king and with some soldiers bring him back here for sentencing with new charges of escaping custody. We found out that he had some help in escaping and those were sentenced to ten years for aiding and abetting a fugitive. The former king was furious of course saying that he was the king and we couldn’t do anything to him by law, but he was very wrong. No monarch is ever allowed to break the laws set by the council. The council was taken down by the very rules they made. I’d all that ironic justice, wouldn’t you? Anyway, once everyone that had anything to do with the crimes against those women were in jail or dead, my grandfather took over as King and dismantled the council. Now, all rules are made by the current king and he can add new rules or take away old ones as long as whatever is added isn’t something that will favor one side or give anyone in the royal family the ability to break a rule and get away with it.”
“Okay, if the council and your great however many times grandfather were taken down by the very rules they made, how do you think Alex is going to make it out of this without going to jail?” I was starting to panic because I couldn’t get him back just to lose him to jail or death. He laughs and shakes his head. “I’m not finding anything funny about any of this.” I yelled at him.
“My dear mate you were not paying attention and if you aren’t going to pay attention then I should just start killing.” he growls low in his throat.
“I was paying attention to your story. You said if you break the rules by the council that you go to jail no matter if you’re royalty or not.”
“Yes, my dear, but I also said that the council was dismantled, and the rules are now set by the current king in charge.”
“Okay, then what happened?”
“He was incarcerated and awaiting punishment for a few months before he disappeared. The people had been outraged that he was not sentenced to die like he was supposed to be, but instead was sentenced to be shackled in silver and given wolfsbane for the rest of his pathetic life. You see, my grandfather didn’t want to go down in history as the first monarch to have a previous monarch put to death. The older generation always seemed to care more about stupid things like image and status than ethics and morals. The whole situation was a mess but lets get to the good part shall we?”
“The good part? There’s a good part to all of this?”
“Oh yes, there is, which is the whole reason all of this is happening now. Like I said, the people were in an outrage when they heard the sentencing and so was I or should I say your Alex. Nobody knew, but he tried to talk to his grandfather about what was happening and tried convincing him to execute the former king but his pleas as well as the pleas of the people fell on deaf ears, so he decided to handle the situation himself. He went into the cells and let the man out using the guise of helping him to escape and it worked because they made it out of the kingdom and up north to Canada before anyone noticed the man missing. Nobody looked for Alex or even implicated him in the escape.”
“So, you’re saying that he is still alive and has been living in Canada this whole time?”
“Not at all. He’s very dead and by Alex’s own hands.”
“You’re lying! My son would never murder anyone even if the person does deserve it!” shouts Alex’s father. Before Alex can do anything, I turn around and raise my hand shooting blue mist out at the former king which silences him.
“You were warned to stay quiet Mr. Trudeaux. Since you can’t follow the rules, I am going to keep you like this until he is done speaking.” He frowns at me but nods in understanding that I just saved his life. “Alex, please finish. What do you mean he was killed by your own hands? Why would he do that?”
“Nice touch, but he will still die when this is through. I meant exactly what I said Freya. We stayed in Canada for about a week before I started to torture him. I had him tied down in the basement of one of our properties there and I inflicted every cut, bruise, and abuse that he inflicted on those poor women. You see, Alex and I weren’t always dual personalities. I am the side that comes out when he needs to fight in battles. This went on for weeks until finally he begged me to kill him and I happy obliged. I took a very sharp silver knife and flayed him from head to toe, then cut off his appendages and I do mean all of them, leaving the one between his legs for last and watched him bleed out. Once he was gone, I buried him and didn’t mark the grave. I figured that was a fitting death for someone so evil. After we returned home, Alex couldn’t take what we’d done and somehow, he was able to permanently block me and all memories of what happened.”
When he finished talking, I could hear gasps and soft crying which I knew came from his mother and surprisingly from Michelle. Then again, she was his friend for a very long time. I just stood there in shock at everything that I had just heard. Alex would never do anything like that. I mean he couldn’t have done what he is being accused of doing in a million years. This has to all be a lie.
“This can’t be true.” That’s all I can bring myself to say.
“Well, it is very true. He suppressed his memories and separated me from his personality. Blaming me for what happened like he wasn’t there. He refused to believe that I was a part of him, and he was the one that was in control. He was the one that made the decision in his bedroom to help him escape and kill him. I had nothing to do with that part, yet he blamed me anyway.”
“And now you're taking it out on all of us? This is just crazy. Why not just shut him out like he did you? You possibly could have gotten away with that for a while. Or maybe you could have talked to him about it when you were set free.”
“I’m doing this to make everyone involved pay for what happened.”
“Wait what do you mean everyone? You killed the one that hurt those women and only Alex shut you out, so who else was involved?” He smirks and looks behind him. Two men are walking with a man in the middle that resembles Alex and his father.
“Grandfather, glad you could join us. Would you mind filling them in on what I mean by everyone, or do you want me to continue with my tale?” Everyone looks at his grandfather waiting for an explanation, but his grandfather never said anything after several minutes. “Okay then, I will explain. You see, the common misconception in this whole situation is that Alex came up with the entire idea himself. Yes, he was in control and made the decision to kidnap him and torture him, but he planned on bringing him back alive. Our dear grandfather was called by Alex to let him know what he’d been up to, and grandfather made a special trip to see Alex in Canada. The trip included an Alpha command that said to kill him in the most gruesome way possible and not to return home until the job was done.”
“So you’re telling us that Alex had no intention of killing him and none of this would have happened if not for your grandfather’s command. Then take it out on your grandfather and not everyone else. He’s the reason for you being blocked and for everything that happened afterwards. This is madness. You can’t hurt innocent people because of something that someone did to you in the past. Revenge is not the answer. It only causes more problems at best. Stop this nonsense before more innocent people get hurt or die.” I plead with him in the hopes that Alex will come through.
“He will get what’s coming to him, trust me and so will everyone else.”
A huge surge of power erupts from him and one minute we see his grandfather and the next, the man is up in flames screaming. Everyone is in shock because it happened so fast that even I couldn’t react in time to put him out before his body fell to the ground dead.
