The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 17

We run for about ten more minutes and finally I burst through some trees and see my beautiful mate lying on the ground with torn clothes surrounded by three males and one female. All of them look worried and scared and the woman is crying while clinging to the older male. He looks very familiar to me, but I can’t think of where I know him from now. My mate’s next scream drew my attention back to her and the reason I came here. The male that I haven’t figured out who he is yet, bends down and dabs a wet cloth on her head and moves some hair from her face. Inside I know he is only helping her, but my animal counterparts don’t approve of this male touching what is ours and a loud ferocious growl escapes my lips that has the animals in the area scurrying away quickly. They all look up at me with fear in their eyes and I notice that even my Beta and Gamma have taken a few steps back. “DO NOT TOUCH HER!”

David walks up to me and gently puts a hand on my shoulder. “Alpha, you must calm down. You’re scaring them and remember nobody but us and your mate knows who she is to you.” He whispers this so that only the two of us can hear it and I try to calm down as much as I can. Then he walks ahead of me but he doesn’t get close to my mate and addresses the one near her. “What is your name son?”

The boy looks at us and then at the others who also moved closer to him and my mate. I smirk. As if their little united front could do anything if I was here to do them harm. I shake my head and lock eyes with my mate. I notice that realization hits her now clear gaze and I shake my head a little at her indicating she is not to say who I am, and I see sadness on her face. I mind-link her and tell her that I am not ashamed of her, and this is for her safety for now. I hear mumbling and turn my head to look back at the boy and my Beta.

“My name is Zachariah Sams. I am the future Beta of this pack.”

“Zachariah, I am Beta David, of the royal pack. May I ask who you are to this girl?” The boy looks at him with a confused expression as if he is wondering why my Beta is asking him this question.

“Well, I am her friend. Her brother over there is my best friend, the future Alpha Nicholas, and those are his parents, Alpha Facundo and Luna Charlene Cabrera.” We all turn and look towards them. I felt like I should put my future in-laws at ease, so I decided to speak, cutting off whatever David was going to say.

“Hello Alpha and Luna. You don’t have anything to fear from us. I heard the screams while leaving from visiting a friend at a neighboring pack. Do you know what is wrong with her?” Every part of me is itching to touch her, but I need information first. Keeping my aura in check is getting harder the longer I stand here with that male so close to my mate. She screams again and I can no longer take it anymore. I quickly moved towards her and pushed the boy out of the way cradling her in my arms. She is burning up and sweat is beading all over her skin. Damn! I need answers now.

“Okay no more being subtle here. I need answers and I need them now! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HER?” My aura is blasting out and I see all of them kneel and bare their necks in submission.

“Your majesty we didn’t recognize you. We didn’t want to give information to someone that could be looking to harm us.” Her mother says trembling. I reign in my aura so they can all stand again and try to tamper down my anger.

“Forgive me. I didn’t mean to get so angry. I just don’t like seeing my subjects suffering.” Her mother looks at me for a bit and then a smile slowly comes onto her face. I see her eyes glaze over and then so does her mate’s and I can tell they are mind-linking. When they finish, both are smiling but they quickly hide it, though not quick enough from me. She moves closer to me and kneels after taking the wet cloth from Zachariah.

“Zach darling, I need for you and Nick to go back to the packhouse and have the staff make up three rooms for our guests. I can’t let them travel this late and they did come to help when they thought we were being attacked. Also, have the cook prepare something for our guests to eat. We will meet you all there shortly.” The boys look at us and then at their Luna and Alpha.

“Go on boys. Nick, your mother and I will be fine and so will your sister. We’ll be inside after we take her to the pack doctor and have her checked out.” Said the Alpha. I just sat on the ground holding her and pretending that I knew what I was looking for checking her body for wounds. Once they left her mother wrapped her arms around me and I mind-linked my Gamma and told him to go with the boys and possibly get a shower before we get there. He looked puzzled as to why the woman had her arms around me and I told him to just let it go for now. He nodded and walked away towards where the boys had gone.

“If I am correct then you must be my daughter’s mate. I am so happy for her and for you. She is a great girl. Stubborn and willful as hell but I’m sure you can handle her.” She’s rambling and her mate grabs her and holds her near him chuckling.

“I’m sorry about my mate your majesty. She can get a little over excited sometimes.”

“It is quite alright, but I need to know what happened to her. And yes, I am her mate.”
