The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 21
When I opened my eyes, I had trouble focusing at first, but slowly my vision began to clear. I could see my parents, brother, and Zach standing around me and they looked worried. My body was on fire and my clothes were drenched in sweat, well the pieces of clothes that were left. Pain rippled throughout my body making it hard to focus on much of anything else. Between the sweating, feeling like my body is on fire with how hot I am, and the excruciating pain, focusing on anything else is hard as hell right now.
My parents are talking in whispers, at least they think they are whispering, because I can hear them very well which is strange. I mean I’ve always had supernatural hearing, but this was like supernatural times a million. The creatures, stream that was at least 10 miles from here, were all very clear to my ears. My parents were worried because they didn’t know what was happening to me, not to mention I jumped through a window from the third story of our home and landed on my feet, then took off running into the forest without breaking my stride. If I were feeling well, all of this would be something to worry me as well, but now I don’t give a damn about any of that stuff. I just want this pain to stop.
As if on cue, the pain flows through my body again and a blood-curdling scream rips from my throat. Why isn’t this pain stopping? What is happening to me? My body begins to spasm and the pain flows through me again making my back arch off the ground and I scream again. The wind changes direction and I smell the most wonderful scent in the world. It can’t be him. I must have passed out again and now I’m dreaming. “Alex, please, help me. It hurts so much. I can’t take it anymore. I wish you were real and not a dream so you could be here with me now.” I whimper as pain shoots through me again then another scream rips through my throat. Tears are falling from my eyes and I’m sobbing softly curled up in a fetal position. Thankfully my body stopped spasming because that only made the pain worse.
Zach takes a towel and starts to pat the sweat on my forehead and cheeks. I’m happy that he hasn’t touched me again. When he first showed up with the others, he and my brother tried lifting me but I screamed so loud from their touch and they stopped. Nobody has tried to touch me again and I am so grateful because of the pain but I wish my mother could hold me in her arms right now, or even better, I wish that Alex could hold me. It had to be my imagination at work when I thought I smelled him. That is just impossible. Suddenly I heard a growl so loud that it shook the ground and all the animals that were curious about what was happening here, quickly scurried away. My eyes try to focus on the figure standing a few feet away from us. Zach goes to grab me and hold me so that the intruder doesn’t get to me in this state. I scream because his touch makes the pain worse, but I know he is trying to help me. “DO NOT TOUCH HER!” I hear the man say and I know instantly who it is, and I try to get to him, but my body won’t respond the way I need it to which pisses me off. My Alex is real and he’s here.
There’s plenty of talking going on and even though I can hear them, I cannot understand them with the pounding in my head from all the pain. My pain is too much to focus on anything. I understood bits and pieces but have no idea what the conversations are about. From what I heard, his Beta’s name is David and something about the Royal Pack. Then there was more talking, and Alex came over to me and pulled me into his arms while I saw my brother and Zach head towards the pack house, and a few minutes later, I see a huge man follow them. The man named David is a huge guy, but then again he is of Beta blood. He must be about 6’5 with huge biceps and thighs full of muscles, and I can tell he has a six pack through that T-shirt he’s wearing. His hair was kind of shaggy in the front and cut short in the back and light brown color and his eyes were a beautiful light blue shade. His skin was perfectly tanned, and he had a chiseled face. He was handsome but his looks screamed danger, yet I could tell that he was only dangerous to his enemies.
Now that my focus is coming back a bit and the pain is not as bad with Alex holding me, I can see more clearer and move a little better. I cuddle into his embrace as much as I can, inhaling his scent which calms me. A few whimpers escape my lips, and he rubs my hair and holds me tighter. If this is a dream, then I hope to not wake up. I will gladly endure the pain if it means I get to be in his arms. All those nights of him not being in my dreams were not pleasant for me. Many times, I was very cranky with everyone because my sleep was horrible. My mother throws her arms around him from behind and is hugging him tight, but I can tell that it doesn’t bother him, but it takes him by surprise. In my daydreaming I must have missed something for this to happen. My parents have never been in my dreams before with Alex, so this is new. I am starting to wonder if this is really a dream or not because everything feels so real. She is suddenly pulled away, and I hear my father chuckle a bit and tell Alex that my mother is just excited. Yep, I have definitely missed something while lost in my own thoughts. What is she excited about?
Excruciating pain ripped through me and my body began to convulse and it felt like my bones were breaking. Oh wait... they are! If I didn’t know any better, I would say that I am shifting but the other symptoms don’t make any sense. My body contorts then goes back to normal, and it does this multiple times before staying in my human form again. I am drenched in sweat and my clothes are completely non-existent at this point. My entire body hurts from my head to my toes. Hell, even my damn hair hurts. Alex let go of me and everything felt a million times worse. He was looking at me with sadness and another emotion I couldn’t quite place. His eyes glazed over and so did his Beta’s and I knew they were mind-linking each other. What are they talking about that we can’t hear? A scream rips from my throat and he goes to hold me again but then stops. The wind blows again and his scent hits me full force. My mind starts racing as a realization finally hits me. Everything starts to make sense to me. My parents, brother, and Zach were never in my dreams with Alex, so it made no sense that they would be in this one. Plus, there are two other people, his Beta and whoever that other guy was that left. My imagination has never been that vivid to where I could conjure all of this in my dreams. I start talking but it sounds like I’m mumbling. He got closer to me and sat next to me on the ground holding me again, then leaned in to hear what I was saying.
“You’re real. You’re real. I wasn’t dreaming.” Pain hit me again and he loosened his hold on me which made me scream more. “NO! Don’t let me go. The pain is worse when you aren’t touching me. Please Alex, make it stop.” I am so tired and don’t know how much longer I can do this.
“I won’t let you go sweetie.” He holds me tight, and I sigh as the pain subsides a little for which I am grateful.
The wind changes again and I hear someone sniffing the air, but I ignore it, until my mate does the same thing and his body tenses. For a second I think he will let me go, but then he held me tighter and I’m relieved. Are we in danger?
“It can’t be, can it?” I heard Beta David say before he looks at my parents and asks a question that stuns us all. “Is she your biological daughter, and do not lie.” His voice is rough, and I can see his breathing picking up. He’s angry but I’m still trying to process what I just heard him ask my parents. Pain hits me again and I whimper snuggling closer to Alex. At this rate, I’ll be inside of him.
“Yes, she is our biological daughter. Why do you ask?” They look confused again. Before David could say anything, my mate looked up at them. He was looking as if he needed to look into their eyes even though I knew they weren’t lying. I am their biological daughter. I stayed quiet not only because of the pain, but also to hear where they were going with this question. My mate then spoke to my parents.
“He is asking because if you are telling the truth, being mated to your daughter just put us all in a hell of a lot of danger.”
“What do you mean?” My mother asks. All of us are looking at him now, just waiting to know what I have done to cause us all to be in danger.
“I rather not say everything here but what I can say, is that your daughter is not a regular wolf. I don’t know how, but she is a Lycan, and she is having her first shift.” After hearing what my mate has just said, I pass out again.
