The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 33

I cut the mind-link before he can respond. Holding her close to me I breathe in her scent and slowly drift off to sleep.

The next morning, I wake early and go for a run before taking a shower and getting dressed. Ethan went into town and got us some fresh clothes to wear and the Alpha is lending us a car to use. I’m glad he told the patrols about us so we didn’t have any unnecessary accidents while I went on my run. After running for two hours, I head back to the packhouse and to my guest room for a shower. Freya is already gone from my room when I get back, so I shower quickly and change so that I can have breakfast a little time with her before we leave.

Quickly I make it downstairs to the dining hall but she is nowhere to be found. Her parents greet me and tell me that she is at the training grounds. I forgot she usually eats breakfast before going to train. Sitting down at the table I decide to talk to them and my Beta and Gamma instead of going to find her.

“I’ve been going back and forth between taking her with me and leaving her here. If I take her with me there is a greater chance of enemies finding out about her, but she’ll be well protected. On the other hand if I leave her here and they find out about her, that could put her and your entire pack in danger. If called upon we can come to your aid but who knows if we’ll make it in time.”

“Your majesty...I mean Alex, I understand your dilemma. What can we do then? It seems like either way a chance will get taken but as you’ve said, she’ll be better protected there with you and the other Lycans.” said Alpha Facundo.

“Why don’t we ask her what she would like to do? I mean I trust both of your opinions, but maybe she’ll take whatever you decide better if she has a say. Facundo, you know our daughter, and that girl can be stubborn especially when she feels like her choices are being taken from her.”

“Luna, I had no intentions of doing anything without her permission. I just kind of wanted to get an idea of what you both think of the situation. Life won’t be easy for anyone with this rogue problem, but it will be even harder for anyone that is royalty or has royal blood. I need her to understand everything she is going to be dealing with and I told her and she said she wouldn’t reject me. These rogues are going after anyone allied to the King.” I feel another presence and stand up immediately on alert. They are not close to where we are but they are close enough for my Lycan senses. I sniff the air trying to catch the scent, and it is familiar. When the doors open and she enters the room with her bags, the idea I had last night and while running comes into my mind and a small smirk comes across my lips.

“Ah, just the person I wanted to see. Renee, I had a talk with the king last night and it seems that you won’t be needing your bags just yet.” They all look around the room and then their eyes land on me.

“I’m sorry but why won’t I be needing my bags? I’m going home with my mate.” She walks closer to Ethan and grabs his arm. “I’ve waited to find my mate and to be taken from here, so I’m not staying here without him.” I feel my eyes flash to black as I fight my counterparts for control.

“Alex, why isn’t she coming with us? She’s my mate and I want her with me. We talked about what happened yesterday and everything is okay now.”

“Well, the king feels that a punishment is in order. Both of them will be punished. Renee should be happy that she isn’t going to the castle, otherwise she’d be getting the same punishment as Freya or worse since she did provoke her.”

“What is to be my punishment? How did I provoke Freya? The only way that what I did could have provoked her is if she is your mate. Is that what this is about?”

“Oh, she does have a brain, yet she chooses not to use it all the time. Do you know how much danger a newly turned wolf can be to those around him or her? No, you don’t because obviously you didn’t pay attention when they taught you about wolves.” I turn away from her before I did something that wouldn’t be good. My Gamma is growling low in his throat but I don’t take offense, because I know that is his animal nature to protect his mate.

“Look, your punishment is only for you to not come to the palace until the mate ball. Thank the goddess that is all he is giving you.”

“That’s almost a month away. I can’t stay away from my mate for that long.” Ethan says.

“You won’t have to stay away from her. The king gave you permission to stay here with her if you wish. He understands how it is with mates so he is granting you this time with her.”

A look of relief comes over his face after I tell him that part then I turn to David to tell him that we need to be leaving soon when the doors open again and in walks Nicholas, Freya, and Zachariah. A low growl comes from me and she comes near me and rubs my arm. I start to calm down instantly but then have to return the favor as she starts to growl when she sees Renee. Instead of running away or hiding behind Ethan, she actually moves closer to Freya. Is this girl insane? This time I will not stop Freya from hurting this girl.
