The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 89

Alex turned around and his eyes were pitch black and there were these black veins running over his chest and arms. He had a smirk on his face, and it sent chills down Freya’s spine, and not the good kind she usually got from him looking at her. He looked absolutely evil right now and she couldn’t believe this was happening. They'd talked about what to do if it did, but she tried her best not to believe that it would come down to that. Those thoughts went out the window as she looked into his eyes and saw nothing. Her mate was no longer there, and her heart was breaking. She felt so many emotions, but the biggest was sadness. Inside her head, she could hear Seraphina and Celestia howling for the loss of their mates. They weren’t dead, but their consciousness was not there.

Suddenly she felt a hand grip her arm tight and pull her forward. Alex had her by the wrist and was applying so much pressure that she knew if she didn’t get loose, he would break her wrist. She pulled and pulled but her wrist wouldn’t budge from his vice-like grip. He pulled her to his chest and put his head in the crook of her neck and her body froze with fear. She had no idea what he was planning to do to her, but he sniffed her neck inhaling her scent, then whispered in her ear, “Bite me now! We don’t have much time. I can’t fight this too much longer. You have to put a mate tracker on me. Do you remember how to do it?” Freya shook her head yes but was still in shock. “Good girl. Do it now! My wolf and Lycan are trying to hold back this magic with my magic but it won’t hold much longer. Freya, baby, please remember what I told you. Stop me by any means necessary.”

Tears flowed down Freya’s cheeks as she kissed him quickly but passionately before grabbing him and biting the left side of his neck deeper than she did for the mate mark. Blood dripped down his neck and his body relaxed in her arms. She heard him say thank you and that he loved her as she was sealing the wound. Almost as soon as she was done, she felt a powerful push on her chest that threw her ten feet back into a tree. She shook her head as she tried to stand up, but she was a bit dizzy. What the hell happened? When she looked at Alex, she saw the darkness back in his eyes and he stared at her with a snarl on his face. He was gone again. Her heart ached for the loss of her mate.

“Are you okay Freya?” David asked her as he helped her stand.

“Physically, I’m fine, but emotionally I’m broken. He made me put a mate tracker on him while he still had control. I pray to the Goddess that I did it correctly.”

“Mate tracker or not, I think we’ll know where he is when the war starts. Bellevue and those dark witches have just taken control of the world's most dangerous killing machine. Goddess help us all.”

“We may have to help ourselves.”

“What do you mean?” Freya kept eye contact with Alex and when she saw that evil smirk return, she knew something bad was about to happen. A blast of black lightning was shot from his hands and straight at David.

“Shit!” shouted Freya before she quickly pushed him behind her and took the full force of the blast. She gritted her teeth and took the pain as long as she could while struggling to call forth her powers to shield them. Thankfully the blast ended seconds later though it felt like hours. She fell to her knees and David stooped down to hold her up.

“Why did you do that you crazy woman? You could have killed yourself. If you die who will lead us?”

“You will, like you did the last time. I’m not the official Queen remember. I did it because he’ll hate himself when we get him back if he finds out he killed his best friend and Beta.”

“He’ll hate himself more if he kills his mate.”

“Look at his eyes. The blast stopped when he realized he hit me and not you. A part of him is still fighting in there.”

Alex laughed suddenly and everyone’s attention was now on their king. He took a couple of steps forward until he was directly in the middle of everyone. David helped Freya stand up and she leaned some of her weight on him, but her wolf and Lycan were already healing her injured body. Thankfully her hair wasn’t singed because she would have killed him for that, he knows not to touch her hair.

“You all need to get this through your heads. Surrender now and I won’t kill you all. Please don’t make me hurt you. You have served me well all these years, but that is over now. It is time for Lycans to take full control. No matter handing out with wolves and mating with them or any other species.”

Bellevue and the dark witches all had looks of shock on their faces. “Was this not part of their plan? Why do they look so shocked? I thought this is what Bellevue wanted to happen.” Freya thought to herself. She focused back on Alex as he was currently the biggest threat at the moment.

Alex turned and looked at the dark witches and Bellevue and his smirk got bigger and even more evil if that’s even possible before he spoke again.

“Why the shocked faces? Oh, I think I get it now.” He laughed to himself and even that sound was evil. “You thought that I would be under your control. You fools actually thought that you could control the most powerful Lycan to ever live. That only proves how incompetent you are and are not fit to be a part of what I’m going to do in the future.”

Black lighting sparked from his fingertips, and he walked towards the dark witches first. He stopped two feet from them and sniffed the air.

“Ahh, I love the smell of fear. Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. My Queen wouldn’t want me to do that yet, but I will have to subdue you for a while. You may be useful later.” He waved his right hand and five boxes like the one they kept Tabitha in appeared and each witch was imprisoned before they could blink. Then he turned his attention towards Bellevue and walked closer to him like he did the witches.

“Pure stupidity. You should have run while I was dealing with the witches, or tried to anyway because lets face it, you wouldn’t have gotten far. Everyone here wants you dead. Some more than others. I only sense one person here that wants you alive and that’s funny since she rejected you. Mate bonds are a curious thing aren’t they.” He looked at Freya for a split second before he turned his attention back to Bellevue.

“Sadly, I don’t need you. I can use the witches to boost my own power if needed but you are of no use to me at all. You’re a coward who used his own daughter to try to get ahead and when that didn’t work, you tried to use dark magic to use me as a weapon. If I liked, you more I’d probably have respect for you.” He burst out laughing and shook his head. “Who am I kidding? I’d never have an ounce of respect for someone like you.”

He waved his hand and the black electricity wrapped around Bellevue and he screamed. His scream was so ear-piercing that we all had to cover our ears. His body started to smoke as it appeared he was being burned from the inside out, even though the electricity was wrapped around his body on the outside. Alex waved his hand again and silenced Bellevue. He was still screaming but we couldn’t hear the sound.

Tears rolled down Freya’s cheeks as she watched the man, she loves do this to someone. She knows how ruthless he can be and that isn’t the part that bothers her. What was bothering her was the fact that he was doing this in front of his people. Their people. He never let what he did in the dungeons be seen by his subjects. They didn’t need to carry that burden. She stood up straight and summoned her powers to do the one thing she could think of to stop this madness. A blast of blue electricity left both her hands, but she aimed one at Bellevue and the other at Alex. She used one to distract Alex so she could end Bellevue’s suffering. She did want him to suffer, but not in front of his ex-mate and pack members. She could be cruel but that was heartless.

“Aww, why did you spoil my fun little mate? I thought you said you wanted him to suffer.”

“Nobody should suffer like that in front of everyone. Suffering is one thing in a dungeon cell, but to do that in front of his ex-mate is another story.”

“Don’t get high and mighty with me! Do not forget who you are talking to Freya! I know your every secret and we have shared many thoughts on how to end his life, so do not stand there in the middle of MY people and act as though you are so innocent.”

“I never claimed to be innocent my love. You do know everything about me, and I know all about you. If you were in your right mind, we both know that never would have happened.”

“Don’t pretend you know what would have happened if I was in my right mind as you say. This is my right mind, just a side I kept buried.”

“This isn’t you so stop trying to convince or yourself that it is and fight it, Alex. We all need you. You’re our King and my mate.”

“Well, you’ve finally said something right, but you also said something very wrong.”

“What are you talking about? Alex will you please stop this and just come back to the palace with me. We can figure this out together. You can’t possibly want to stay this way. Remember what the Goddess told us. You can’t wipe out any species, so what you’re talking about doing goes against what she said. We are all supposed to live together peacefully.”

“Peacefully you say. Were we all peaceful when the vampires and both rogue wolves as well as Lycans attacked us because of Tobias? Not to mention the dark witches.”

“They were being commanded to do that and false promises were made to them. We can’t fault them for what they did. Besides, you slaughtered a great deal of them when you thought they killed me and have since made up for that, so why throw away all your hard work? You’ve been a respectable and trustworthy King for all these years and your people look up to you. Don’t do anything you’ll regret later.” For a brief second Alex’s eyes flashed from the onyx inky black color to his beautiful natural grey color.

“You all need to get out of here. I can’t hold this back too much longer. Freya get them out of here now!”

“Alex please fight it. You have to fight baby.”

“I’m trying. That’s the only reason you all are still alive. Please don’t argue with me now. David get them all out of here before I kill anyone. That is the next move this magic is going to make me do. Quit trying to reason with it. Freya, the mark will work so you’ll be able to find me later but for now get our people to safety.”

“I love you so much. Never forget that I love you.”

“Aww how sweet. You love him and he loves you, but none of that will save you. Now I think I should answer you question about the thing you got wrong and right.”

“I hate you!”

“Freya that hurt. You shouldn’t speak to your king that way. I may have to punish you for that later. Anyway, don’t you want to know the answer?”

“Just spit it out. Say what you have to say and get on with it.” All around them she saw David and Ethan gathering everyone and getting them to safety.

“You were right when you said that I am your King, but you were wrong when you said I am your mate.”

“What nonsense are you speaking now?”

“You see, you and Alex are mates, but you and I are not. My mate has to be someone on my level and you simply won’t do my dear. While you are very sexy and I’d love to make you scream in more ways than one, you don’t have the tenacity I need in a Queen.”

“What are you saying?” Freya felt an uneasiness in the pit of her stomach. If he rejects her then the mate tracker won’t work.

“I’m saying I have a Queen of my own choosing. Don’t worry, I can’t reject you because it’ll weaken him, and I need him strong.”

“Who is your Queen then if not me?” Freya had a feeling who it was, but she didn’t want to let herself think it.

“Now Freya, are you that stupid? I thought you of everyone would know the answer to that by now.” He turned and stretched out his hand to the last person she would have thought he’d pick, but then again this isn’t her Alex. “Tabitha, my love, come and greet your subjects. I don’t think you’ve been properly introduced to them.”
