The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 111

Author’s note: The fire that was used by Tabitha is equivalent to the fire that was used in the Harry Potter movie in the Room of Requirement just to give you a sense of how powerful the spell was that she used. Okay, now on to the story. We’re nearing the end everyone.

A week later, I woke up in the hospital along with hundreds of others. When I awoke, I was told that Alex was in a comatose state and so was Tabitha. A month has passed since then, and they are both still not awake. The witches were able to draw the dark magic out of Alex, but they couldn’t do the same for Tabitha. Now it is just a waiting game to see when they will wake up. After everyone woke up, we were visited by the Moon Goddess as well as Gaia, which was a huge surprise since Gaia only appears to her witches.

We were told that they both stepped in right at the last minute to stop them from destroying the planet. The blast didn’t just knock everyone out that was in the vicinity, but also reached a 500-mile radius by the time they appeared. They have revived those affected by the blast and repaired all the damage to the areas of the blast radius. Ethan informed Alex’s mother about what happened to Alex when he was younger involving his grandfather and great-great-great-great-grandfather and from what I am told she was furious. I couldn’t blame her at all. Her son was used to do something horrible. The Moon Goddess told us that she knew about what happened and that is why he never came into more of his powers until he took over as king and gained more access after he found me. She never wanted him to be used like that again. That pissed me off because I feel like she could have stopped all of this by stopping what happened back then, but she said that what happened was fate and she cannot interfere with the future.

Every day since I woke up I’ve been visiting Alex in his hospital room. Everyone was moved back to their respective homes and packs or back into the castle. Alex’s parents, with the help of David and Ethan, have been running the kingdom and taking care of pack business. My focus has only been on my mate. The thought of him never waking up makes my heart hurt in a way that I’ve never felt before in my life. I just keep telling myself that at least he’s alive. The Goddess said that he will wake up when he is ready. His body is fine, but his mind is in turmoil, and he must resolve what is going on within him on his own. He has to accept what happened and forgive himself in order to get his dual personalities back together.

Every day I sit in a chair next to his bed and hold his hand while talking to him. I tell him everything that has been going on and how much we all love and miss him. One day I thought that I felt his fingers twitch, but they stopped almost as soon as they started. When I told the doctor, they just said it was probably involuntary muscle spasms. Since his fingers never twitched again, I assumed that the doctor was right. “Baby, please wake up soon. The dark magic is gone and the doctor says that it is up to you now. You’re strong and I know you can do this baby. Please come back to me. I love you.”

My wolf and Lycan both whine inside my mind. They miss their mates as well. Since he’s been back, they’ve both told me that they can’t communicate with Khal and Stryker. I try not to think about him never waking up, but the longer he stays in the coma, the more that possibility becomes a reality. What will happen to the kingdom? He has no heirs so there is technically no one that can take over the throne. Legally, the Beta becomes the next Alpha if something happens to the previous Alpha naturally and not through an Alpha challenge, but in this case, things are different because the Alpha in this case is a royal.

As I’m sitting there holding his hand, the door to the room opens and the doctor walks over to where I’m sitting. He checks the machines and his vitals and writes down what he sees. The same routine every day since he has been in the hospital. Tonight, a nurse will come in and give him a sponge bath. After the first time, a male nurse gives him the bath now since I almost ripped the female nurse apart for touching my mate, everyone thought it was best to make the change. David and Ethan have come by on many occasions in the beginning to try and take me back to the castle to eat and sleep but I growled at them both and refused to leave. A bed was brought in for me after that and I eat my meals here. There’s a shower in the bathroom in his hospital room so my parents brought me a bag of clothes to change into every day.

“Freya how are you holding up?” asked the doctor.

“As good as can be expected. I just wish that he would wake up.”

“We all do. This kingdom hasn’t been the same without him. He really did a lot of good for us. There was some doubt when he first took over as king that he’d be just like the other kings, his father being an exception, but he soon proved that he was different. He really cares about treating everyone as equals. There has been so much bigotry and classist behavior for centuries.”

“He told me a bit about that and how he was hoping to change the narrative. Wolves and Lycans were both created by the Moon Goddess and no one species is above the other. He just has to wake up. There is so much more good for him to do for everyone. I need him and so does this kingdom.”

“I’m sure he will my Queen. He just needs some time.”

“Call me Freya. I’m not the Queen yet and never will be if he doesn’t wake up. I feel like the more time he stays this way the harder his chances of waking up are and that scares the hell out of me.”
