Two hours later, we are heading back to the palace to change into our mating ceremony outfits which are very simple party clothes. I wore a royal blue knee length dress with short sleeves and black stiletto heels, while he wore a royal blue dress shirt and black dress slacks. He looked very sexy, and I couldn’t wait for this night to end so I could have my own fun with him before bed. “Are you ready babe?” he asks me.

“Just a second. I have to finish pinning my hair. Okay, I’m ready.” I say as I place the last pin.

“You look gorgeous as always.” He kisses my cheek.

“Thank you and you look sexy yourself.” He leans in and kisses my lips while pulling me into him. I pulled away and started walking towards the door.

“Oh, come on Freya. They won’t miss us, I promise.”

“I think they will miss the guests of honor who also happen to be the King and Queen.” I giggle and step out of the room.

“You owe me later then.” He comes up behind me and slaps me on the ass.

“Only if you behave.” I smiled at him, and he grabbed my hand, and we walked down the stairs to head to the reception hall.

The party was in full swing when we got there and there were plenty of people that walked up to us to give us their congratulations and well wishes. We talked to everyone that came up to us but when I saw my family, I excused myself and went over to the table where they were currently sitting and eating. We all hugged and kissed each other; my mother was crying, and I could only shake my head at her. My brother announced that he had some news for us, so I mind linked Alex and told him to come over. When he reached me, he put one arm around my waist and kissed my cheek.

“Get a room you too.” said my brother jokingly.

“Oh, we plan on it later tonight.” I say back to him. Everyone laughs at his fake gagging.

“I’ll never get that image out of my head. Gross Freya.”

“Oh, quit being a baby and just tell us what your news is please.”

“Well, I have my Lycan now.” I hug him and congratulate him.

“That’s amazing. I’m so happy for you Nick.” I say to him.

“Thank you, sis, but that isn’t the big news. The big news is that Shaniece and I are going to have a baby.”

Everyone congratulated them and we all hugged Shaniece. I rubbed her stomach which is still flat, but I did it anyway. I was so excited for them but then I thought about something and so I mind linked Alex.

“I thought you said we couldn’t get pregnant until I hit 100 years old?

“That applies to the female Lycans. My sister is over 100 so your brother can get her pregnant. I can’t get you pregnant though.” I nod my head in understanding.

After spending a little more time with them, we excused ourselves and walked around the room talking and mingling with other guests. We danced to a few songs and had some food and drinks. All in all, the night was a pretty good one but I was so glad when it ended. By the time we reached our room, I was almost too tired to even take a shower and when we finished our shower neither of us bothered with clothes. Both of us were out the minute our heads hit the pillow.

The next morning, I awoke to kisses on my neck and hands rubbing my thighs. I moaned softly before smiling and opening my eyes. “Well, good morning to you too.”

“I was hungry and needed a snack.” He says before continuing to kiss up and down my neck.

Every time his tongue glides across one of my mate marks, a shiver runs through my body. I can’t help the moan that escapes my lips and that seems to be all the encouragement he needs. He kneels between my legs and leans down to kiss me before thrusting inside of me. A louder moan escapes my lips right before he kisses me again. Our tongues dance as we move our bodies together in sync. Since he came home from the hospital, I had been avoiding being intimate with him until he fully healed.

We made love for two hours before finally getting up and taking a shower. After we were dressed for the day, we went downstairs for breakfast before heading to our own offices to work for the day. There was still plenty of work to be done, getting renovations done to some homes and building others completed. There was also the situation of the ones that followed Bellevue and wanted things to go back to Lycans being over everyone. We located many of them, but there are still some out there that we need to round up.

“Freya are you busy?” says Shayla through the mind link.

“Yes, but I can spare a few minutes for you. What’s up?”

“I need to talk to you about something. Can I come to your office?”

“I’ll be waiting.”

A few minutes later she came walking into my office and she had a sad look on her face. I gestured for her to sit down, and I put my pen down after I finished signing some papers. We sat in silence for a few minutes, and I didn’t want to push her to talk, but I had a ton of work to get done to stay on track and didn’t want to get further behind. Just when I was about to ask her what she needed to talk to me about, she started speaking.

“How do I get my mother to love me?” she says and that catches me off guard.

“What do you mean?”

“She still wants to die. I don’t know why she thinks it would be best for everyone. She’s willing to break Dylan’s heart not to mention her own daughter. How do I get her to love me?”

“Honestly, you can’t make someone feel what they don’t feel for you. I think she does love you, but she is just too full of heart break that she won’t allow herself to love anyone. The two of you need to sit down and talk about everything and hopefully at the end of it all you’ll work things out to satisfy both of you.”

“She won’t talk to me though. She has been stuck in that room forever. No matter what I say to her nothing changes. Our conversations always end with me yelling at her and walking out because she keeps talking about wanting to die. The woman isn’t even trying to take anyone else’s feelings into consideration. She’s so selfish.”

“I’m sorry that you have to go through all this with her. I really hope that the three of you can figure out a way to make this work.”

“I won’t hold my breath on that happening. She’s selfish and stubborn. Well, I know that you’re busy and thank you for listening to me. I’ll try talking to her again without getting upset.”

“You know I’m always here for you if you need me. I have a feeling that things will work out in the end for all of you.”

“I hope so Freya. I’ll talk to you late and let you get back to work. I’m headed to training and then I have witch training later.”

After she leaves, I get back to reading over proposals and other requests that need to be submitted soon. Once I’m down to the last few papers, there’s a knock on my door and I can tell that it is Alex from the scent. “Come in.” I say as I keep signing papers.

“You missed dinner.” he tells me as he comes around the desk to stand next to me.

“I didn’t realize what time it was baby. I’m so sorry. Okay let me sign this last paper and then we can go have dinner.”

“I already ate but I had the kitchen keep a plate warm for you, so they didn’t have to wait to clean up. Today was a very long and tiring day and you need to eat and rest.”

We headed to the kitchen to retrieve my dinner and I just decided to eat there so that nobody would have to come to our room and get the dishes. After eating and cleaning my plate, we headed upstairs and showered together before climbing into bed. We laid there in silence just holding one another. He rubbed circles on my back, and I listened to his heartbeat while lying on his chest.

9 Months Later

“Alex hurry up! We have to leave within the next fifteen minutes, or we will be late.” I have no idea what is taking that man so long this morning.

“I’m coming Freya. I can’t find my wallet.”

“Your wallet is with me along with the keys. Baby come on, I don’t want to miss seeing my new niece or nephew.”
