The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 70
**I'm sorry for being absent and not updating but between being sick and physical therapy I have been completed drained. I'm hopng to make this up to you in the next few days. This one isn't as long of a chapter but I just had to give you something. Hopefully I can get more done Friday.
**
My instincts were to rip him away from her, but deep down I know he is only helping and has his own mate. I can’t afford to be distracted by something as insignificant as that at the moment anyway. I feel a light touch on my arm and turn to see the Coven of Light witches standing behind me. All of them have shocked looks on their faces as if they can’t believe what is happening. Cassidy is the one touching my arm and I look at her for a second before asking her what is wrong.
“Well, the spell she is casting is forbidden even by dark magic users. One thing you don’t mess with is the dead. Once they are dead, they are to remain that way so that their souls can go on whether it be to a good or bad place. She is casting a necromancy spell. Necromancy is the reanimanation of the dead but also the one that casts the spell has complete control over what the deceased does once animated. She could get them to harm their loved ones as well as their enemies if she chooses. Tobias’ dead combined with yours will make for an invincible army.”
“How do we stop them, or her?” I asked.
“The only way is to kill her because she won’t willingly undo this spell.” says Cassidy.
“Why can’t things ever be easy?” I shake my head.
“If everything was easy your majesty, life would not be interesting. Though I get what you mean. This would be so much easier if she would just accept her mate for the kind of man he was and end this revenge business. She really was a wonderful person and very gifted until her mate was killed.” She looks at Tabitha with sadness and part of my heart breaks for the woman. When I thought I lost Freya my world crumbled and I didn’t want to live any longer, but Tabitha did lose her mate and I can’t imagine the pain she has lived with this whole time.
“Hopefully we can end this without killing her but I’m a bit doubtful that we will be able to do that, so is there a way to imprison her?” Killing is not something I enjoy doing to someone that clearly is hurting. Cassidy said that she was a very happy person and loved to help people when she could, until she lost her mate. Maybe we could lock her up and strip her powers somehow. “Is there a way to imprison her and strip her powers?” They all look at each other for a few seconds as if having a conversation in their minds like my species does, then they all nod before turning back to me.
“There may be a way to bind her powers, but the spell will take some time. We need to get started now if we’re going to do anything. She’s raising the dead, and I don’t know how long I can keep us protected with a shield and do the spell at the same time.” I think about what they are saying and get an idea.
“How much time would you need to prepare the spell?”
“About twenty minutes give or take, why do you ask?”
“Concentrate on the spell and leave the protection to me.”
As they look at me with confused expressions, I give them a small smile before I start walking out to the battlefield to face Tabitha. I need to keep her attention on me and not the witches. David and Freya turn in my direction, no doubt catching my scent on the wind. As much as I want to go to her, I know that I can’t right now. My focus has to be on keeping Tabitha busy while Anastasia and the other Coven of Light witches work on their spell. Briefly I look at them as I walk past them and David gives me a slight nod that tells me he understands. Freya looks a little hurt that I didn’t go to her, but I see David whisper something in her ear and she relaxes.
In the middle of the field is where I finally stop and look around at all the dead bodies on the ground. A dark cloud starts to form above the witches as their chanting continues, then it starts to slowly spread out around the area. As the cloud touches the dead bodies, they start to twitch and jerk around on the ground. I know that I need to act fast before we have a field full of reanimated corpses.
“Tabitha Williams!” I bellow. “Stop this nonsense immediately. I know that you are hurting because of the loss of your mate, but we can settle this another way. Tobias just wanted to use you to carry out his evil plans, but I know that your reason for doing this is personal. Can we talk this out? I’d rather not have anyone else die.” I say to her in hopes of getting her to see reason.
“Alexander Trudeaux, there is nothing you can say to me that will stop me from exacting my revenge on you and all those that were involved in the murder of my mate.”
“Why didn’t you say that you were mated to a Lycan? Why didn’t he say anything? You do know that had one of you said that you were his mate, he wouldn’t have been killed, right?” She hesitates for a second and I decide to keep talking while she appears to be thinking.
“Tabitha, as wolves and Lycans we take our mate bonds very seriously. The one rule that is absolute is that we do not kill someone who is mated if it can be helped. If we had known that he had a mate, we would have thought up a different punishment. We know how devastating losing a mate can be so we try to cause that kind of pain if we can, but in your case we simply didn’t know.”
