The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 20

Nick and I spar together and start off very evenly matched. We are both sweating and throwing punches and kicks, with some landing and some missing. A crowd has gathered around us watching my brother and I try to take each other down. I go to sweep his legs and he jumps back avoiding the attack before quickly running at me raining punches down on me, but I manage to block them. When I see an opening, I go to uppercut him, but he grabs my arm and propels me forward pushing on my back. I stumble for a second before gaining my footing and hear him coming from behind, so at the last second, I side-step making him run past me. When he turns to launch an attack, I duck when he’s almost on top of me and using both my hands push up into his chest lifting him over my head grabbing onto him while he’s in the air slamming him onto the ground. He lays there dazed for a few seconds before getting up and getting into a defensive position. Before we can continue, my father walks up and yells “It is a draw” and everyone claps and cheers. “Good job my children. You both will make great warriors and leaders one day.” I giggle.

“Daddy, you always say that.” He laughs.

“Yes, and I mean it. I believe you and your brother will make great leaders one day and your fighting skills will only help you protect your packs better.”

“Daddy, there is no certainty that I will be mated to another Alpha.”

“I know honey, but you could be matched to a Beta. That’s still a position of leadership.”

“What if I’m not mated to anyone in a leadership position? I could be mated to an Omega. We don’t know.”

“Darling daughter I just have a feeling that you are going to be in a leadership role, but whoever you are mated to, I know that you will do great. Though, I don’t believe the Goddess would have given you the ability to excel at all the training for both combat and as a Luna if you were not bound for greatness.” He kisses my forehead then tells me to go get washed up for dinner and takes my brother to his office.

Instead of heading to my room to shower and change, I head towards the forest and take off running. I’ve always been fast being that I’m an Alpha, but my speed has increased tremendously along with my appetite and energy. The trees whip against my skin as I fly through the forest running along the perimeter twice in less than ten minutes, and we do not have a small territory by any means. The wolves on patrol don’t pay me any attention now, but when this first started they were startled. The looks on their faces were comical. They knew I wasn’t a rogue because they could smell me, but my speed had them confused and curious.

Two hours later, I was lying on my bed fresh out of the shower and waiting on dinner to be ready. I chose to wear pajamas because I was not getting fully dressed just to eat dinner and get undressed again. I’m wearing my favorite cotton pajamas with care Bears on them. As I’m laying down watching one of my favorite shows, I start to feel a little hot and itchy. I figure I’m feeling this way because I didn’t dry myself completely or put my lotion on yet, so I sit up and stand to walk to my vanity for my lotion when pain radiates throughout my body. Muffling a scream, I grabbed onto the bed to steady myself and just as quick as the pain came, it left. “What the hell was that?” I shrug it off and walk to the vanity and pull out the chair to sit when pain hits me again and my knees give out causing me to hit the floor. The heat in my body starts to get hotter and hotter like there’s an inferno inside of me. I’m in so much pain that sound doesn’t even come out when I try to scream. Curling up in a ball, I hug my body hoping the pain leaves soon like the last time so I can get up and call for someone. Trying to mind-link gives me an excruciating headache, so I give up on that idea quickly.

It feels like an eternity that I’ve been on this floor, and the heat just gets hotter, but now the itchy feeling has increased, and the feeling causes me to claw at my body. I’m starting to become thankful that I don’t have my wolf yet, because my claws would have torn through my clothes and my skin, and I’d be a bloody mess on this floor. The last thing I would want to do is try to explain why it looked like a murder took place in my bedroom. These clothes must come off. Not only do they make me feel restricted, but they are uncomfortable as well. Why did I wear this instead of just a T-shirt?

Suddenly I can hear footsteps coming upstairs from downstairs and when they hit my landing and I hear them coming towards my room, hope fills me. “Please let them be coming here.” I sniff the air and know that the scent belongs to my mother. I try to call for her so she can hurry, and my voice actually works this time. “MAMA!” The pace in her footsteps picks up and I know she could hear the urgency in my voice. I never call her “mama” unless something is wrong. She bursts through my door and I’m lying on the floor clawing at my body. She stands there stunned, just staring at me.

“I’m too hot! I can’t take these clothes off. They’re all stuck to my body. Help me! Mama what’s wrong with me?” I’m crying now. I never cry. The pain increases worse than it was before, and I scream louder than I have in my life. There are more footsteps and then another figure shows up to my door. My father’s frame takes up the entire space of the doorframe and he is staring at me on the floor. Somehow, I manage to stand up on shaky legs and hold on to my bed. “Daddy what is happening to me? It hurts so much.” I’m panting and out of breath. My body is tired, and I just want to lay down, but I get no reprieve. The itching intensifies and I start clawing at my chest and arms while pulling on the clothes trying to take them off. My mother walks towards me and I don’t know what comes over me, but a voice in my head tells me that I need to go to the forest. Before she could reach me, I bolted towards the window crashing through it and landed on the balls of my feet, then took off into the forest. I run as deep into the forest as I can go, then stop and collapse onto the ground. The voice comes back, and it is very soothing. The heat and pain subside while the voice talks to me. “I’m sorry that you must go through all of this, but you must endure the pain a little longer. All will be revealed soon but for now just hold on. I’m sending someone to help you through this but you’re in for a long night my child.” After she finished talking, I passed out.
