The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 28

“Yes, it did get very painful. My bones felt like they were breaking but in the wrong way. I don’t know how to describe it. My skin felt like it was being stretched in a million different directions and my head felt like it was going to split open. My wolf started yelling at me to listen to you and let her take over to make the transition smoother. I still felt all the pain, but it went much faster, and the intensity wasn’t as high. Thank you so much for helping me.”

“You don’t have to thank me for doing anything for you. Freya, you are my mate, and I will do anything to help you especially if your life is in danger.” I smile at him, and he leans in and kisses me gently on the lips.

“Okay, back to the matter at hand. Freya, there was something that I was going to wait to tell you until the Mate Ball, but that course of action is not a possibility anymore. Being that you are a Lycan, that complicates things with all the rogue attacks sprouting up everywhere.”

“We heard about that actually, and I’ve been training my people even harder just in case they turn their attention here.” says my father.

“That’s very wise. The problem is that the rogues aren’t just wolves but Lycans as well. The whole thing is weird because I didn’t know there were any rogue Lycans until my scouts sent in their reports two months ago. I would have to banish them for that to happen and I haven’t banished any Lycans. Unless...” He looked deep in thought, so I tried to change the subject by asking what it is that he has to tell me.

“Alex, what was it that you wanted to tell me, and why can’t it wait until the Ball anymore?” He looks up at me and turns to my parents.

“Alpha Cabrera, is there somewhere that we can all talk privately? I rather not discuss any of this in the open. I can sense that nobody is around, but I rather be safe than sorry.”

“Yes. Why don’t we go to my office. It is soundproof, so nobody will be able to hear anything.”

We all get up and move to my father’s office and I notice David and Ethan come along as well. I did notice something that Alex said, and I can’t wait to get to the office so that I can ask him about it, but first I want to know why my being a Lycan is such a big deal. After entering the office, everyone takes a seat on the chairs and the sofa that are inside the office. My father goes to his desk and pushes a button that is under his desk and the lockout system is engaged in the room. The room is soundproof, but the lockout adds extra protection. It is like soundproof on steroids. Once we are all settled, my mate turns to my mother and I see a silent conversation between them and after that goes on a few minutes, I can see my mother crying. Quickly I get up to go to her, but my mate stops me and my mother leans into my father, then she looks at me.

“Alex, you are right. It is time I told everyone my secret. I can’t keep this in any longer, especially with my daughter in danger.” Everyone looks at my mother, including my father. I start to ask her what she means, but she holds up her hand as if to say to give her a minute before she starts to talk again. She sits up straight and looks me in my eyes. Instinctively I grab Alex’s hand and sit up straight as well waiting for my mother to tell us her secret.

“Freya, sweetie, I know why you are a Lycan. Before talking to Alex, I didn’t say anything because I honestly did not think it was possible since your brother doesn’t have one. The reason you’re a Lycan is because I am.” Looking around the room, I can see everyone has a shocked expression on their face just like me, including my dad, all except for my mate.

My mother looks at my father for a brief second with sadness in her eyes before turning back to me. “Let me further explain. My family are all Lycans, and my parents were both first borns of their parents. My father actually had an Alpha father and a Beta mother, while my mother had two Alphas for parents. Your father was not my first mate.” I gasp when I hear this and look at my father and I can tell that he did know he wasn’t her first mate and the stuff about her parents except for them being Lycans.

“Mom, none of this makes any sense to me. If you come from Lycans, then why don’t you and Nick have a Lycan?” She takes a shaky breath, and I see tears falling from her eyes.

“Luna, would you like me to explain, or do you think you can go on?” says my mate, which startles me a little because he has been so silent this whole time. My mother nods at my mate and he turns to me.

“Freya, your mother suffered something that no wolf or Lycan should ever have to go through. Her first mate was nothing like your father. He was a cruel being and did unspeakable things. She was to be Alpha when her parents stepped down, but since she had a mate, he would become Alpha, and she would be Luna.”

“Isn’t that how it works though? What unspeakable things did he do?” I asked no one in particular.

“He umm, beat your mother and abused the staff. He raped many of the female staff and basically enslaved the males. The bastard didn’t care if the women were mated or not and your grandparents didn’t know anything that was going on because they left the pack after they stepped down to travel the world. They were still members, but being that far away, even Lycans can’t tell what is going on at home.”

“Oh, mom I’m so sorry for what you had to go through. That had to be horrible for you. What happened to him? Did you kill him or just reject him and run away? I mean you had to have rejected him since you were able to find daddy.”

“No, that’s not how it happened at all.” My mate was speaking again. I noticed that he seemed to know a lot about what happened to say he wasn’t there, and my mother was shaking so much in fear. I don’t know if she was afraid of the memories or of not knowing if my father would leave her or not for keeping this secret so long.

“Alex, how do you know so much about what happened, and do you mind telling me how I’m the only one that has a Lycan?”

“Actually, I only know the part I played in all of this and the rest from what your mother told me. At this point, I can’t tell you the rest without telling you what I was hoping to tell you later. Well here goes. My father was the reigning King at the time, and I was in training. There had been rumors of things going wrong within your mothers’ pack but we only thought them rumors because that pack had never had any problems. They were a model pack and everyone loved them within the Lycan and wolf communities, but suddenly there were many reports coming in of all kinds of unspeakable crimes being commited there. At first, we thought it was just nonsense coming from people who weren’t following the rules and were exiled from the pack, but one day someone came to the castle...” I cut him off from what he was about to say next.

“Hold up! Are you sitting here telling me that you are the Lycan King? That I am mated to the Lycan King?” He shakes his head yes and a hysterical laugh bubble out of me. This can’t be happening. This must be a dream and I’m going to wake up any minute now. If this is true, then that would mean that I am going to be Queen. I can’t be a Queen. Hell, I’m barely Luna material.

“Are you upset that I am not a regular Lycan?” The sadness in his eyes and voice sobers me up quickly and I take one of his hands in mine.

“No. I’m just having some trouble processing that you are the King. Oh my goddess! We have all been so disrespectful this whole time calling you Alex. I’m so sorry your Majesty.” Everyone is looking at me and then they all burst out laughing. “What is so funny?” I ask.

“You are my love, but you’re also very beautiful. My Beta and Gamma are two of my best friends and they call me Alex when we are not in an official setting. I told your mother and father to call me Alex as they are basically my in-laws, and as for you, no matter what setting we are in, you are always allowed to call me whatever you like because you are my mate, and Luna Queen. You are my equal in every way and therefore are the only one that has that right. In official settings of course your parents understand that the use of my title is best.”

“Okay. I understand. Now finish telling me.”
