My Beastly Fertility System Chapter 119: Perfect Match

4 min 2 views

Claire took the fur tunic and felt how soft it was. There was no bad smell at all. Instead, it carried a light floral scent. It fit her perfectly.

"This is great! Why would I mind? Let's go!"

She grabbed Marcus's hand and led him outside. Only then did she see where the stone house stood.

Grimstone was built along a mountain. The houses were stacked layer by layer up the slope.

Marcus's home sat at the very top. From his doorway, he could look out over most of the city.

Even with snow falling, the city still looked lively.

Stone houses stood close together in neat rows. Thin streams of smoke rose into the air, adding warmth and life to the cold place.

The streets were busy with beastfolk. Some traded goods. Others gathered in groups, chatting and laughing. It felt full of life.

Claire couldn't help but sigh. The people back in small clans would never imagine a place like this.

Marcus followed closely beside her.

Inside his home, he moved with ease. But once outside, he wasn't as calm.

He felt a little nervous, but even more excited. Every sound caught his attention. He held onto the corner of Claire's tunic and kept asking questions.

Claire answered each one patiently. She even described the sounds of the market in detail, which made Marcus even more excited.

It had been a long time since he left the house. Before this, he had been stuck in a quiet, empty world, slowly wearing down his own heart.

But now, Claire's voice painted everything for him.

In that moment, Marcus found himself liking this girl he had known for less than a day.

Her voice was so gentle and pleasant. He thought her face must be just as beautiful.

Maybe the Beast God hadn't abandoned him after all. Maybe this was a sign—that he should bond with her.

"Oh? Isn't this Mr. Holland? You finally decided to step outside?"

A harsh voice broke the peace.

Claire turned and saw a tall male beastfolk staring at Marcus with a mean look.

Marcus frowned but said nothing. Instead, he grabbed Claire's hand and tried to pull her away.

Claire didn't move. She looked at the man with clear annoyance.

"And who are you? Watch your manners."

The man burst out laughing.

"You don't even know me? I'm the city lord's right-hand man! What, are you blind too? Haha! Perfect match—blind with blind!"

Claire let out a cold laugh. "Oh? So you're just a guard dog. How embarrassing."

The man's face twisted in anger. "You!"

Claire only smiled wider. From his reaction, she realized that insults worked pretty much the same way in this world.

A passing beastfolk tugged on her sleeve and whispered, "That's Maxim Hopkins. Don't provoke him. Take Mr. Holland and leave now!"

Marcus pressed closer to Claire and urged in a low voice, "Claire, let's go home. I don't want to walk around anymore."

Maxim sneered. "You think you can just leave? Not so fast!"

He rushed forward. In mid-air, his body shifted into beast form—a large tiger lunged toward them.

Roar!

Hearing the tiger's roar, Claire felt her heart tremble. The king of beasts really lived up to its name.

But this Maxim clearly meant harm.

Claire stood her ground and stared at him.

"Are you going to break Grimstone's rules and bully a woman?"

Maxim roared back, "I don't care about rules! I am the rules! If you dare insult me again, I'll bite your head off! Stay out of my business!"

The tiger looked fierce, but he was only a Level 1 beastfolk.

Claire wasn't afraid at all.

Even though she no longer had her anti-tank launcher, her storage still held several modern weapons. A machine gun was more than enough to deal with him.

The tiger pushed off the ground and leaped at her.

Just as Claire was about to pull out her weapon, Marcus suddenly broke free from her hand and stepped in front of her.

Woo!

Marcus shifted into his beast form.

At first, Claire only saw a round, fluffy backside, with a small tail wagging slightly. It looked oddly cute.

She moved to the side and finally saw him clearly.

Marcus was a giant panda.

The panda stood there, soft and round, yet fearless. It let out a roar at the tiger, refusing to back down.

The surrounding beastfolk all stared at him in fear. Even Maxim hesitated and didn't dare move forward.

Clearly, Marcus's beast form carried a strong pressure. To the others, the sight of that panda wasn't cute at all. It was terrifying.
