Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 153: Fame, Firepower, and Fallout
Connor felt a chill run down his spine. Something was off. "So... you're not taking me with you? Roxanna won't agree to that..."
Right then, Jennifer walked in to report some account issues. Harvey used the chance to brush Connor off. "I've got work to do. You should head back."
He turned away and started asking Jennifer about Imperial Crest Plaza and Greenfield Organic Farm.
Connor got brushed off hard. He walked out, frustrated, and went to find his daughter, hoping she could fix this.
...
Mariella returned to her room. She stored the Gatling gun in her storage space, then took out her phone to call Kieran.
She would need his help for the next step.
But the moment she unlocked her phone, she paused. The homeowners' group chat was blowing up with messages. And the topic was... her.
No. 98 had just won its first battle. Mariella had become famous overnight.
Kieran kept fanning the flames in the group chat, praising her loudly. "Mariella from No. 98 is incredible! We're grown men—are we really going to let her outshine us? She's already taken the lead. Are we going to follow or not?"
The homeowners jumped in right away. "We're all following Mariella's lead! Just tell us what to do, Mr. Hancock! Yeah, we won't fall behind. Give us orders!"
Someone asked, "Does anyone have extra reinforced glass or electric fence systems? Or know where to get them?"
Another said, "Mr. Hancock, help us figure something out! We want to upgrade our homes like No. 98. It's much safer."
Kieran replied directly, "I know a middleman who might be able to get some, but it won't be cheap. If you have your own connections, try those first. Only buy from him if you have no other option."
Mariella read the messages, then sent Kieran a private text. "I have some bulletproof glass and spare high-voltage fencing for sale," she wrote. "But it won't be cheap. Also, let's talk about our next move."
...
Fannie saw Connor storm out, his face dark with anger. Her heart dropped. She hurried over. "Mr. Graham didn't agree?" she asked.
Connor looked furious, his face ashen and tight. He was about to speak when he saw his daughter walking over. He quickly stepped in front of her.
"Roxanna, you need to talk to Harvey," he said. "Convince him to send our supplies to the official base. If he runs off on his own and leaves us here in Celestine Ridge, we're as good as dead!"
Roxanna pursed her lips, clearly annoyed. "Because you hid supplies, Harvey already has a problem with me. Why should I go make things worse? Let it go. If I push too much, he'll just get sick of me too."
Fannie's eyes filled with tears. "Roxanna, you can't ignore this. He's your man. Your father and I will have to rely on the two of you from now on."
That only made Roxanna more irritated. "Stop crying all the time! It's making Viola and Harvey like me even less."
"What?" Fannie froze, stunned.
Connor had already been holding in his anger. Hearing that, he snapped. He raised his hand and slapped Roxanna across the face. "You ungrateful girl!"
At that moment, Jennifer stepped out and saw everything. She gasped. "Ms. Shepherd... are you okay?" she asked, alarmed.
Before Roxanna could answer, Harvey came out in a hurry.
"Mr. Graham, Ms. Shepherd isn't feeling well. Should we call a doctor?" Jennifer asked carefully. She knew Harvey cared a lot about Roxanna, so she didn't dare take it lightly.
Roxanna was already crying, her face wet with tears, looking hurt and wronged.
But Harvey didn't even seem to notice the red mark on her face. His voice was cold and impatient. "If she's sick, go see a doctor."
Then he walked away without another word.
So annoying. Black Bear had just lost the fight, yet instead of going after Mariella, he came looking for trouble with him.
Harvey cursed him in his head, but he didn't dare show it.
Not yet. As long as he was still in Celestine Ridge, he couldn't afford to fall out with Black Bear. If things turned ugly now, he might not get out at all.
Meanwhile, Chandler led his team outside to collect the spoils. Their main target was the convict gang members. They searched the bodies for firearms.
The results were better than expected. They gathered a large pile of guns and ammo.
By the time they finished, the Bentley had already been fitted with new tires and driven through the gates of No. 98.
Everyone came back loaded with loot, grinning from ear to ear.
Matthew took charge of the inventory. He logged every weapon, every round of ammo, and every blade, then stored them all in the warehouse.
Chandler personally checked the Bentley—no damage, no hidden bugs. Once he was sure, he drove it into Warehouse No. 3 in the courtyard.
Mariella wrapped up her discussion with Kieran. They had settled the price, the terms, and their next move. Only then did she head downstairs.
She told everyone to rest. Then she went into the warehouse to inspect the spoils herself.
In total, they seized 23 firearms, 35 spare magazines, and over 200 rounds of ammo.
