Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 190: Fuel, Fortune, and Future Power

Mariella shared the same thought and nodded. "Maybe the next time the space upgrades, the shift distance will increase too."

This added ability was incredibly important. Not only could it easily bypass even the strongest walls, but in critical moments, it could also be used to misdirect enemies.

If she encountered danger, all she had to do was slip into the space, and when she came out, her position would already be different.

Wasn't that basically teleportation?

My storage space ability evolved into something close to teleportation, and who knows what it might unlock next?

Mariella rubbed her hands together, excitement bubbling over. "I really need more gemstones... more gold and silver... more antiques, rare wood, paintings... maybe that'll unlock even more abilities..."

Chandler thought for a moment and said, "Denton has been in the gemstone business for years. He probably knows where the largest mines are."

Mariella's eyes lit up. Only a gemstone mine could truly provide resources in massive quantities.

But then she remembered the coming long night and brutal cold, and immediately gave up the idea of traveling far.

A six-month-long night, with temperatures plunging to minus 58 or 76 degrees. Outdoors, even stone could freeze solid like ice sculptures.

She wanted to upgrade her space quickly, but not at the cost of her life.

Chandler noticed her hesitation and reassured her, "There's time. No need to rush."

Mariella nodded, took out her phone, and opened the Celestine Ridge group chat.

The messages had already stacked into the thousands. Residents were uploading drone footage of the battle between Black Bear and Tigre.

The discussion was heated, but for now, it seemed they hadn't been attacked.

And it didn't look like Black Bear could take down Tigre anytime soon, either. The fight had reached a stalemate.

Mariella skimmed through the messages and suddenly burst out laughing.

Chandler watched her laughing uncontrollably, his gaze deepening slightly. "What's so funny?"

"Seriously, Tigre actually threw Harvey out to deal with Black Bear. And guess what happened?"

Chandler smiled faintly, drawn in by her expression. "What?"

"Black Bear captured Harvey. He didn't kill him, but made him his boy toy instead!" Mariella laughed so hard she nearly doubled over.

Black Bear really had no limits, and he hadn't disappointed her at all.

Chandler's lips twitched slightly, but seeing how amused she was, he played along. "Harvey was always trying to win Black Bear over. Guess he got exactly what he wanted."

"Mm. Let him enjoy it for a few days."

"So, back to Celestine Ridge, or keep gathering supplies?" Chandler brought the conversation back on track.

Everything was going exactly according to Mariella's plan. She made her decision immediately. "We keep looting."

...

Since Mariella had already left Celestine Ridge, she wasn't about to waste the next two days while Black Bear and Tigre were locked in conflict.

The long night was coming soon, and the brutal cold would follow.

Once that happened, everything underwater would freeze solid. Collecting supplies would become nearly impossible.

She wasn't lacking in most resources right now. Aside from gold, silver, and gemstones to expand her space, what she needed most was energy.

After the flood, the authorities had salvaged as much fuel as they could, but there were always leftovers.

Mariella was leading only a small team. Even picking up scraps would be enough to last them for years.

The two of them rode a speedboat and followed the GPS to the aviation fuel depot in Liraelith.

The area was low-lying, and it was one of the first places to be flooded.

Mariella guessed most of the fuel in storage had already been drained by officials, but there was still a chance that tanker trucks had been submerged nearby.

The rain had come too suddenly, followed by flash floods, making drainage extremely difficult.

Even after the water receded, leaving only three to four stories submerged, everything underwater was coated in thick mud to the point of being completely unrecognizable.

Mariella pulled a high-pressure water pump from her space and attached two long hoses fitted with powerful spray nozzles. Then, she brought out a high-capacity battery to power the equipment.

Next came the diving gear. The two of them changed into wetsuits and put on oxygen masks.

Armed with the high-pressure water guns, they dove underwater.

Everything below was buried under layers of thick mud. Cleaning it bit by bit would take too long, so they blasted everything with high-pressure streams.

As the water jets swept across the submerged landscape, shapes began to emerge from beneath the mud.

Mariella quickly spotted a tanker truck.

Same routine. As she pulled it into her storage space, Chandler stayed close, guarding her in case she ran out of strength.

Another full tank!

Mariella felt a wave of dizziness, but instead of worrying, she was thrilled. This haul was turning out to be huge.
