Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 172: Betrayal, Blood, and No Way Out
When Harvey confessed and said he felt guilty, she couldn't help but laugh.
Her smile was cold and sharp, like a flower blooming in the dead of winter.
She stepped forward and kicked him to the ground. "Who has time to listen to your worthless nonsense?"
The wound on Harvey's shoulder tore open again. Pain hit him hard, and he rolled on the ground.
Chandler walked over. He bent down and quickly stripped Harvey of all his guns.
Blood poured from Harvey's shoulder. He glanced at Chandler, and his body started shaking again.
Ever since the last time Chandler beat him so badly and that vicious dog tore into him, Harvey had been terrified of both the bodyguard and the dog.
Now, every time he saw Chandler or heard a dog bark, his legs would go weak.
He looked at Mariella and said, "I know you still care about me. I'm the one who hurt you, so you gave this guy a chance. But you don't really love him, right? In your heart, he's no different from your dog. Just a tool—ah!"
Chandler kicked him hard in the stomach. No mercy. Full force.
Harvey felt like his insides were about to burst. He curled up, shaking in pain.
Chandler glanced at Mariella.
She shrugged. "I wanted to hit him too. You beat me to it."
Chandler pressed his lips together. Then he noticed movement inside the helicopter. His eyes sharpened, and he rushed over without a word.
Just as the cockpit door was about to close, he fired. Bang!
The pilot was shot in the head. Blood splashed across the control panel.
Viola and Roxanna screamed in terror. They almost lost control of themselves.
Chandler didn't stop. He fired again, this time at the pilot in the other helicopter.
Bang! The bullet hit him in the back. The pilot collapsed onto the controls, motionless.
A doctor sat inside, clutching a medical kit, trembling.
Harvey struggled to lift his upper body. His eyes were full of anger and despair as he looked at Viola and Roxanna, who were still hiding inside and too scared to come out.
Mariella let out a soft laugh. "Looks like not only your ‘true love' wants to leave you behind; your grandmother is running too. When it matters, everyone looks out for themselves."
Viola trembled. "Take whatever you want, just don't hurt me! I... I don't know anything."
Chandler pulled open the cabin door. He dragged the dead pilot out first, then threw Viola and Roxanna out after him.
Thud!
"Ow! My back!"
The dead pilot lay still. Viola and Roxanna cried out in pain.
They landed right next to Harvey. The three of them stared at each other.
Viola held her side and groaned.
Roxanna reached out and gently touched Harvey. Tears streamed down her face. "Are you okay?"
He looked at her, his face cold.
She seemed to understand why. Through tears, she said, "I'm sorry. I was really scared! Harvey, think of something. Call your men to come save us!"
He had so many people working for him. One order, and help would come.
Before Harvey could answer, Mariella gave a short laugh. "You're worried about Harvey, but didn't you see your parents?"
Only then did Roxanna notice Connor and Fannie lying on the ground, tied up with their hands behind their backs, their mouths sealed with tape.
"Dad... Mom..." She panicked and wanted to run over, but she hesitated when she saw Mariella holding an AK.
In the end, she didn't move. She just glared at Mariella. "How can you do this to them? He's your father too! Are you really going to kill your own father?"
Mariella didn't react. Her voice was cold. "He's not my father. He's a monster. He and Fannie worked together. They had me kidnapped and sold, and they caused my mother's death.
"Too bad he made one mistake back then. He shouldn't have just had me taken away. He should've had me killed. Finished it for good.
"I came back alive. Now he's going to hell."
Connor's body shook. His eyes were full of fear.
He tried to speak, but the tape over his mouth only let out muffled sounds.
Roxanna used all her strength to help Harvey sit up. She leaned into him and looked at Mariella with a smug expression.
"I know you're hurting because Dad and Harvey don't love you. But no matter how jealous you are, it won't change anything. They only love me."
