Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 167: No Room for the Weak
"Harvey, watch out!" Roxanna rushed forward and grabbed his arm to steady him.
Harvey glanced at her. His gaze looked strange, hard to read.
"Harvey, why are you looking at me like that?" Roxanna felt a chill. His gaze wasn't the same as before. "Are you okay?"
Harvey pressed a hand to his forehead. He didn't answer. Even he couldn't explain how he felt.
"Mr. Graham, what should we do now?" Connor asked, clearly worried. What he cared about most was the stash of supplies he had hidden. "Things don't look good. Should we head to the official base and lie low?"
After a long silence, Harvey let out a cold laugh. "And what would I use to trade for a spot in the base?"
A small helicopter could only be traded for five spots. He had no intention of wasting them on people who were useless.
"We took over Villa No. 7, 8, 9, and 10. All four have helipads. They should each have a small helicopter," Connor said. He had been watching closely and kept a clear count in his head.
The villas closer to the center were bigger and more luxurious. Their private helipads were larger too. Some homes even had more than one helicopter.
Harvey's eyes flickered. His voice turned cold. "They probably traded their helicopters for supplies ahead of time. I only found one. The rest... won't get us many spots."
From the start, he had made sure he had a way out. He just hadn't expected Black Bear to move so fast.
Even if he had to leave, he would only take people who were useful.
People like Connor and his wife... In the past, he might have taken them along for Roxanna's sake. But not anymore. He wouldn't waste valuable spots on them.
Connor frowned, clearly suspicious. "Only one? That's impossible."
"Why is that impossible?" Viola shot back without holding back. "If you're so capable, go find a few more helicopters yourself. You make it sound so easy."
She was sick of that family. Not one of them was useful. All they did was drag everyone down.
Roxanna clung tightly to Harvey's arm, as if he would leave her the second she let go.
"Harvey, what's your plan? Don't keep me in the dark!"
Harvey tried to pull his arm free, but her grip was too tight. Her nails dug into his skin, and he hissed in pain.
"Let go of him!" Viola reached out and pinched Roxanna hard on the arm.
Roxanna cried out and finally let go.
"Guards, take them out," Viola ordered when she saw her grandson had no interest in dealing with them.
The guards rushed in and dragged the family of three out.
"Harvey, let me stay and take care of you! Please, I don't want to leave you!" Roxanna cried, her face wet with tears.
Harvey thought about her failed surgery in his past life and how she had died and left him. His chest tightened.
"Fine. You can stay."
Roxanna felt like she'd just been pardoned. She broke free from the bodyguard and rushed into his arms.
As for Connor and Fannie shouting and crying in protest, she didn't spare them a single glance.
She clung to Harvey again, eyes full of tears. "Harvey, don't leave me behind!"
Harvey raised a hand, signaling her to be quiet. Then he turned to Viola. "We need to find a way to move to the official base as soon as possible."
Viola nodded. "Do it. Make the arrangements right away."
Harvey had lived through more than four years of the apocalypse in his dreams. It had felt like hell. His emotions were all tangled up.
In his past life, Mariella had fought for him on the front lines. She had handled most of the trouble.
But in this life, she had slipped out of his control. Now they stood on opposite sides. He had to deal with the mess on his own.
Did she remember her past life earlier than he did?
Harvey felt regret. Maybe he shouldn't have killed Mariella back then.
But there was no going back. By the time he realized it, it was too late.
Things were even worse now than in his dreams.
In his past life, there had been no terrifying group like Black Bear. He had been able to stay in control.
Back then, he didn't go to the official base until a year later. He had more supplies, though they were quickly used up after he got there.
In this life, he had lost the advantage. Kieran had taken over two companies before him. Harvey got them back later, only for Black Bear to steal them again.
Even though he had already sent some supplies to the official base, it wouldn't last long.
Harvey couldn't worry about everything anymore. Right now, he just wanted to get out.
"Roxanna," he said gently, "the situation is bad. We have to leave right away."
Roxanna nodded quickly. "I understand. Take me with you!"
"But the spots I secured at the government base are limited. I can't bring your parents." Harvey looked straight at her. "So what will it be? Stay here with them or come with me?"
