Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 156: Gone Without a Trace

Harvey froze again. He stared in shock. "The helicopters can't be used?"

Damian answered honestly, "The one that went into the water is basically done for. The one that made it back needs repairs. The fuel tank has to be replaced."

Harvey almost fainted.

Roxanna pouted. "Harvey..."

"Zip it!" Harvey snapped. He dumped all his anger and fear on her. "Haven't you caused enough trouble already?"

Roxanna flinched. Her body shook, and tears spilled out.

"Get out!" he shouted.

She was so scared she stopped crying right away. She wiped her tears and quickly apologized. "I'm sorry. Don't be mad. I won't say anything anymore."

Her eyes were wet as she bit her lip. This time, she stayed quiet.

Just then, Jennifer walked out and reported in a low voice. "The supplies are all sorted. But Damian says both helicopters are down. Should we hire boats instead?"

Harvey's foggy mind cleared a little. He nodded at Jennifer. "You're right. Tell Damian to arrange boats as fast as possible. We can't waste time."

Roxanna couldn't help snapping at Jennifer. "Why didn't you suggest this earlier? We could've prepared sooner."

Jennifer curled her fingers nervously. She spoke in a small voice. "Black Bear was here just now... I—I was scared..."

Roxanna was about to say more, but Harvey cut her off, annoyed. "Any woman with a brain would be scared of Black Bear. Only an idiot would walk up to him on purpose."

Jennifer nodded again and again, tears in her eyes. Harvey really understood her concern.

She was just an assistant. If that terrifying man took an interest in her, there was no way Harvey would risk his life to protect her. He would just hand her over to save his skin.

She wouldn't throw her life away.

Harvey stood up. Without even saying goodbye to Roxanna, he walked off.

Roxanna was furious. She slapped Jennifer across the face. "What are you so proud of? Think you look good in front of him now?"

Jennifer stared at her in disbelief. "Ms. Shepherd, you..."

Roxanna had always been soft and gentle, always speaking sweetly. When had she become so unreasonable? And now she was hitting people?

"You dare to talk back?" Roxanna slapped her again on the other cheek. She poured all the anger she felt from her father and Harvey on Jennifer. "Showing off, huh?"

After the second slap, Roxanna finally felt better and hurried after Harvey.

Jennifer held her burning cheeks. She stared at Roxanna's back as she left. Slowly, hatred filled her eyes.

...

At 11:00 p.m., Villa No. 98.

Mariella sent a drone to scan around the house. No ambush. Everything looked clear.

When her team had gone to bed, she quietly opened the iron gate with Chandler. They moved without a sound.

Lucky wagged his tail when he saw them. After getting the signal from his owner, he lay back down in his doghouse.

The gate made a soft noise as it opened and closed. It woke a few people. They glanced out the window, saw Lucky acting normal, and relaxed. Mariella was probably heading out on a solo mission with Chandler again.

On the second floor, a curtain slowly pulled back. A pair of eyes watched them leave.

A phone lit up. A message was sent. "Mariella just left the villa with Chandler."

Using the drone, Mariella had already checked the area around Celestine Ridge. More than a dozen boats were tied up nearby. Most of them belonged to the convict gang.

The homeowners here usually used speedboats or inflatable boats. To avoid theft, they never left them outside.

Only the gang was bold enough to leave their wooden boats tied up along the shore.

There had to be guards on those boats. But not many. And not very alert.

After all, no one dared to mess with that gang. No one would even think of stealing their boats.

Mariella and Chandler entered the storage space and changed into diving gear. Then they slipped into the water.

With oxygen masks on, they swam under the largest wooden boat.

Mariella took a deep breath and reached out, touching the bottom of the boat. "Store."

The boat vanished in an instant. The water rushed in, forming a small whirlpool.

Every time Mariella stored something big or heavy, she felt dizzy. Occasionally it was bad enough to make her black out.

Like the last time she stored a yacht. She had lost consciousness for a brief moment.

That was when Chandler proved his worth.

He reacted fast. He grabbed her and pulled her away from the swirling water.

Splash!

Splash!

Splash!

"Ow!"

"What the—who pushed me into the water?!"

"Where's the boat? Where's our boat?!"

As the wooden boat disappeared into the storage space, the gang members who had been sleeping inside were suddenly thrown out.

One second, they were asleep in the cabin. Next, they were in the water. They had no idea what had just happened.
