Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 174: Prove It or Die
Mariella suddenly realized she might have overlooked how her teammates felt.
She shrugged and quickly reassured them. "Okay. We'll end this fast."
Harvey's heart tightened. His voice trembled as he spoke. "Mariella, if there's another life, I'll definitely—"
Before he could finish, Mariella kicked him to the ground.
With Harvey down, Roxanna lost her backer. Her face turned pale.
"Harvey, you have to protect me!" she cried, trying to move closer to him. Mariella stepped in front of her, blocking the way.
She pulled out a combat knife. The blade gleamed cold and sharp.
Roxanna froze. "Don't kill me! Please! I'm your real sister!"
Her eyes filled with tears. They fell one after another like beads slipping off a string.
She looked fragile. Pitiful.
Mariella was stunned by her shamelessness.
How could she even say that? Did she think Mariella was still the same fool from before?
That same soft, helpless act had deceived Mariella in her past life. She had gotten lost in Roxanna's sweet calls of sister.
Whenever danger came, she had always stepped forward first, shielding Roxanna behind her.
Thinking about it now, she wanted to slap her past self.
"Smack! Smack!" Instead of hitting herself, Mariella moved fast and slapped Roxanna twice.
Roxanna was already close to collapse. The force sent her flying.
She hit the ground, clutching her face. Her ears rang. She was completely stunned.
"You still dare to put on a show?" Mariella sneered. "Your skin must be thick. Two slaps didn't even wake you up? Fine, take another one!" She kicked Roxanna hard in the chest.
Roxanna's eyes rolled back. She almost passed out.
Harvey closed his eyes and pretended to be dead.
Chandler pressed his lips together but said nothing. He turned and went back to work.
He cleared one helicopter, shut off the engine, then moved to the next.
He dragged the pilot's body off the control panel and tossed it out. Then he knocked out the trembling doctor with one punch.
He threw the doctor off as well, arranged the medical kit neatly, and shut down the engine.
Mariella didn't stop either.
She knocked Jennifer unconscious first. Then she tore the tape off Connor and Fannie's mouths.
Connor could finally speak, but Mariella's ruthlessness shook him.
He stammered, "Sweetie, listen to me—ah!"
Mariella kicked his knee. He nearly jumped from the pain.
"Who's your sweetie? I don't recognize a monster like you as my father!"
Fannie screamed in terror, shaking all over. "Don't kill me! I had nothing to do with this! I don't know anything!"
Mariella bent down and grabbed her by the hair. Her voice turned cold. "Say that again. You had nothing to do with selling me off? Nothing to do with killing my mom?"
Fannie was terrified, but she knew she couldn't admit it. If she did, she would die.
Mariella was ruthless now. One wrong word could end badly.
"No... I swear... it was all your father. I know nothing!" Fannie insisted.
Mariella finally let go of her hair. She turned to Connor. "So it was just you? You killed my mom alone?"
"She's lying! I didn't kill your mother!" Connor panicked. "Mariella, you have to believe me."
Mariella waved her hand. She said darkly, "I don't believe empty words. Prove it."
She pulled out her knife and sliced through the rope tying Connor.
Clink. The knife dropped to the ground in front of him.
Connor quickly grabbed it. Before he could move, he heard the sound of a gun being cocked.
Mariella aimed her AK at him. "Don't try anything. Whether you live or die depends on what you do next. Or..." She glanced at Harvey, who was still playing dead. "You can be like your son-in-law. Would you rather die than hurt the woman you love?"
Connor stared at the dark barrel pointed at him. His whole body shook.
"D-don't kill me! There's been a misunderstanding—"
Bang! Mariella fired. The bullet hit his left foot.
One of his toes blew off. Connor screamed, hopping in pain.
Roxanna, who had just recovered a bit, clutched her head and screamed again. She almost fainted.
"Say one more useless word and the next shot goes through your head. Don't test my patience."
Connor wasted no time. He grabbed the knife and lunged at Fannie.
Fannie had never seen her husband look so terrifying. She screamed, "Don't! Please don't kill me!"
