Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 166: Harvey Remembered

Only then did Mariella remember the trade she had arranged for supplies. She had left everything to Matthew to handle.

"When did they come pick it up? I didn't even know!" she said.

She had been so busy fighting and stocking up that she forgot all about the deal.

Good thing Matthew was reliable. He dealt with Terrence directly, so she didn't have to handle every detail herself.

"At 4:30 this morning," Kieran replied. "Terrence came in person with his people to collect the goods. He also delivered everything you asked for—gold, jewelry, jade pieces, antiques, paintings, and hardwood furniture. All priced exactly as you requested, not a dollar off."

Mariella's eyes lit up at once. She was ready to head to the warehouse and check everything.

"Hey, don't rush off!" Kieran had been waiting for her for a long time. He wasn't about to let her go that easily.

"Say what you need to say. I'm busy," Mariella urged.

Kieran hesitated, shifting awkwardly. "That bodyguard of yours can really fight. At first, I thought he just won you over with his looks. Now I get it, he's actually strong."

"Of course he is. My guy doesn't disappoint," Mariella said, not modest at all.

Kieran gathered his courage. "Can I be one of your guys?"

"Huh?!"

"I mean... can I join you?" Kieran sent a cute photo of a puppy rolling over for belly rubs. "I don't mind sharing you with him. And if you just... spend time with me once a week, I'd be happy."

Mariella widened her eyes. "What?!"

After that, Kieran sent a flood of flirty messages, full of cheesy pickup lines. He even snapped a few photos he thought looked attractive.

Mariella felt sick just looking at them. She immediately fired back a series of harsh reviews.

"This one looks way too greasy."

"This one is trying too hard."

"This one—your collar is way too low. I can see your nipple."

"And this one—your belt is loose. What, are you rushing to the bathroom or something? Then why are you flirting with me? Go deal with that first!"

...

Kieran had no words.

His trick didn't work on her. Not at all.

He had met plenty of women before, but never someone like Mariella, impossible to charm.

That bodyguard really was something. Maybe one day, he'd ask him for tips.

...

After Harvey woke up, the bad news kept coming. One after another. It felt like the sky had fallen.

But he didn't seem to hear any of it. His eyes were blank. He just sat there, like his soul had left his body.

Viola paced back and forth, anxious. She looked at her grandson, who hadn't said a word since waking up. She asked the doctor, "Is something wrong with his brain?"

The doctor hesitated. "From what I can see, Mr. Graham doesn't show clear signs of a concussion. But it's hard to say... Some concussions don't cause dizziness or vomiting. The patient might just stare off and seem out of it."

Roxanna grew even more worried. "Even if it's a concussion, it shouldn't look like this! Could it be the anesthesia? Maybe they gave him too much during surgery and it affected his brain?"

Connor panicked. "Then what do we do? We haven't moved our supplies to the official base yet. Who are we supposed to contact now? He didn't leave any instructions!"

Fannie wiped the corner of her eyes, her voice shaking. "If something really happened to him, who's going to save Kingston?"

Damian listened to everyone, then glanced at Harvey's empty stare. A thought crept into his mind.

If Harvey had really lost his mind, he needed to start planning his way out.

Just as everyone stood there, each with their own thoughts, Harvey suddenly spoke.

"I remember! I remember everything! But why is it different from my last life? Everything is different!"

His sudden outburst and the strange words startled everyone in the room.

Viola quickly stepped forward, full of concern. "What do you remember? What do you mean ‘different from your last life'? What are you talking about?"

Then she turned to the doctor. "Check him again. Make sure there's nothing wrong with his brain."

Harvey waved the doctor off. He turned to Damian and asked, "Did we send out the cargo ships to move our supplies to the official base?"

Damian had been uneasy, but hearing this question made him feel a little relieved.

Still, his face looked grim as he reported the bad news. "Black Bear played dirty. After taking losses, he came after us. Last night, he sent his men to take over Imperial Crest Plaza and Greenfield Organic Farm. They seized all the supplies."

Harvey was shocked. "Did they move everything already?"

"Not yet," Damian said. "Luckily, they lost their cargo ships, so they couldn't move everything right away. But once our ships come back, he might try to steal them too."

Harvey quickly tried to get out of bed. But he moved too fast and almost fell.
