Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 225: Is She Not Attractive Enough?

He believed they needed a proper meal because they still had to work overtime at night.

Mariella seriously felt like her fiancé worked harder than she did as the boss.

After enjoying a delicious dinner, Chandler cleaned up and washed the dishes.

Mariella was sitting on the fabric couch she had picked out with Chandler, sipping coffee while watching a variety show. For once, she felt a little unwilling to get back to work.

Chandler came out of the kitchen after finishing up the dishes. "Let's go."

Mariella shot him a teasing, flirtatious glance. "It's already dark. Besides work, don't you feel like doing something else?"

He wasn't made of wood. He immediately understood what she meant.

His brown eyes deepened, his throat bobbed as he swallowed, and his body stiffened slightly.

Mariella paused. "Hmm? Why are you making that face? Did I force you to do anything?"

Realizing she was upset, he quickly said, "It's not that I don't like it."

"Then what is it?" She tried her best to look alluring, but she clearly wasn't used to it. Her posture and expression were a bit off.

She got slightly annoyed. Was I not attractive enough?

"Dr. Lester said you're injured and need rest for a few days," he said, avoiding her gaze while trying not to be tempted.

Even though his stomach was full, his desire had never been satisfied.

Mariella finally understood. "So I need to rest for a few days?"

Chandler caught the disappointment in her tone and couldn't hold back anymore.

He walked over, picked her up, and leaned close to her ear, whispering, "It's not completely impossible. We can use... other methods."

Because Chandler was very fast at learning and very willing to try new things, the two of them ended up completely tangled together in a wave of passion. They were so absorbed in each other that they completely lost track of time.

So the night's planned "work schedule" was completely canceled.

After everything finally calmed down, Mariella was so exhausted that she only wanted to fall asleep immediately.

"You can't sleep yet," Chandler quickly stopped her.

She was already half asleep and mumbled, "What now?"

"We're sleeping in the RV tonight." A man who knew how to live never forgot to be frugal.

Mariella reluctantly opened her eyes again. After changing clothes, she let him carry her downstairs.

Chandler carried her out of the storage space villa and brought her into the cockpit of a speedboat.

After leaving the storage space and returning to open water, he steered the boat toward an abandoned office building.

The building's floor-to-ceiling glass windows had already been smashed by scavengers. He carried Mariella to the third floor, which was just above the water level.

Mariella used a rope to pull the speedboat into the storage space while still half-asleep in his arms.

Chandler picked an open area and decided to spend the night there. "This works."

Still drowsy, she took out the RV from the storage space and stayed curled in his arms.

He carried her into the RV, and they fell asleep while holding each other.

Suddenly, Mariella jolted awake. "When did you get this ready?"

"When you were scrolling on your phone," Chandler replied as he gently kissed her. "Go back to sleep. Tomorrow will be busy."

Mariella was speechless.

She already thought she worked very hard, but somehow she ended up with a man who worked even harder than her.

...

As usual, Mariella normally slept until late morning.

But before she fully woke up, Chandler was already gently shaking her.

"Mariella, wake up. You've got a call."

She opened her sleepy eyes to see him holding her phone right in front of her face.

The screen showed that the call was from Denton.

Mariella immediately perked up, guessing that the gemstone dealers had finally reached a decision.

"I talked with the other dealers. They agreed to your trading conditions. They said you can exchange as much as you can handle for now. As for timing, you can decide. But the location must be their warehouse. It's not that they are making things difficult. The goods are too heavy, and transportation costs are very high. They can't find enough boats."

Mariella nodded in understanding. "That makes sense. Moving hundreds of tons of gemstones is extremely expensive, especially now that everything depends on water transport."

"So you're good with it?" Denton asked eagerly. "Just pick a time. I'll have them prepare everything."

...

After hanging up, Mariella noticed Chandler was still lying beside her.

She checked the time. It was already 9:30 a.m., and that made her a bit curious. "Don't you usually go for your morning workout?"

"I didn't want to leave you alone in the RV," he said softly, while gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face.

So that was the reason.

Mariella smiled, then grabbed him and pulled both him and the RV directly into the storage space.

Even though the RV had bathroom facilities, dealing with waste tanks was a hassle. The storage space was simply more convenient.

After washing up and eating breakfast inside, they went out again.
