"Harvey, my head feels so dizzy. Do I have a fever?"

When Harvey saw Roxanna walk over, he nearly exploded with anger. His vision blurred.

What an idiot!

The moment Black Bear spotted Roxanna, his eyes lit up. Wow... she's gorgeous.

He let go of Harvey right away and turned to grab Roxanna.

"She's my girlfriend!" Harvey rushed forward and blocked him, putting himself between them. He forced a smile. "She's sick—kidney problems. She's not as healthy or as pretty as Mariella. Let's focus on how to get Mariella instead."

Roxanna pouted, clearly unhappy. "You think Mariella is healthier and prettier than me? You've been looking down on me this whole time."

"Shut up!" Harvey snapped. He lost his patience and slapped her across the face.

Roxanna held her cheek, her eyes wide in shock. "You... you hit me... Harvey... you hit me too..."

It felt like everything changed overnight. Her father, who used to spoil her. Her boyfriend, who said he loved her. Now they both treated her like she was nothing. They yelled at her. They even hit her. Why? Why is this happening?

For a moment, Harvey felt drained. He didn't even want to deal with her anymore.

Black Bear burst out laughing. He clapped his hands, clearly amused, and looked Roxanna up and down. "Your boyfriend doesn't know how to treat a lady right," he said with a grin. "How could he hit someone this pretty? I wouldn't do that. No way. Hey, gorgeous, why don't you come with me instead?"

Roxanna looked annoyed, though there was a hint of softness in her tone. "I already have a boyfriend!"

Her voice was so sweet; it sounded like she was flirting instead of refusing.

Black Bear felt his whole body go weak. Now he was even more interested. "Sweetheart..."

Harvey stepped in again, blocking his view. "Tonight's mission is important. We should focus on getting ready."

Black Bear waved a big hand, not taking it seriously at all. "It's just a tiny villa. What's the rush? I like your girl. Hand her over to me. Name your price." He grinned. "I can trade ten women for her. Twenty, if you want."

He had plenty of women anyway. Most of them bored him already.

Trading 20 old ones for one new face? Worth it.

Besides, he could always take her back later.

Split the spoils with me? Yeah, right. Dream on.

Harvey understood exactly what Black Bear was thinking. His face turned dark with anger.

Roxanna actually felt proud of herself. She pouted on purpose and looked at Harvey in a teasing way. See? You don't care about me, but another man is willing to trade twenty women for me. Can you really let me go?

Harvey felt a sharp pain in his chest. He couldn't even tell if it was anger or something else. His head felt foggy.

He had treasured her for years. Suddenly, he didn't understand what had drawn him to Roxanna.

Was it her innocence? No, maybe she was just foolish.

Was she loyal to him? Her body had long since lost that purity, and her feelings didn't seem all that steady either.

Harvey hesitated.

On one side was Black Bear—greedy and ruthless. On the other side was Roxanna—spoiled, reckless, and clueless about danger. Harvey didn't even know what he was risking his life for anymore.

"Black Bear likes you," he said genuinely. "If you want to go with him, I'll let you. I don't want the women he offered, and I don't want any supplies. I just want to respect your choice."

Roxanna froze. She hadn't expected him to say that.

Panic hit her at once. She realized he might really be angry.

"Harvey, I don't want to leave you!" She threw her arms around him, crying hard. Tears poured down her face. "Please don't leave me. I'm begging you. Don't leave me!"

Harvey let out a quiet, bitter laugh. "If you didn't want to go with him, then why did you come here?"

Even someone as naive as her should have heard about Black Bear. He was known for going after any young woman he found attractive.

Most people stayed far away from him. But she had walked right into danger on her own.

Was she just foolish, or trying to cause trouble for me?

"Harvey, I'm sorry! I was wrong!" Roxanna panicked. She clung to him like a drowning person grabbing onto the last piece of driftwood. "Please don't leave me! If you give me away, I'll... I'll die!"

In the end, Harvey's heart softened.

He had loved her for years. Love, after all, can turn into a habit.

He pulled Roxanna behind him and faced Black Bear. "Let's focus on taking down No. 98. We can talk about anything else after that."

In his mind, he was already planning; he would escape in the chaos.

Black Bear didn't push further. He chuckled and started discussing the plan for the night.

But deep down, he was thinking. Once I take No. 98, I'll take this couple too. Both of them look good. I'll keep them both for myself.
