Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 188: A Dream Too Real

Mariella reached out, trying to pull his pajama collar open a little more.

She really wanted to see what his chest looked like.

He grabbed his collar tightly, his gaze burning as he stared at her. "Want to see? Then you'll have to take responsibility."

Mariella looked at him in amusement.

That sounded oddly familiar. He'd said something like that to her before.

She scratched her head, a little confused about why he was here. "Why did you suddenly come knocking in the middle of the night?"

"Don't you want me to?" He leaned lazily against the doorframe, but his hand never let go of his collar.

Mariella pouted and threatened him, "If you want to come in, take off your pajamas first."

He lowered his head and said nothing.

Mariella noticed the suspicious flush creeping up his ears and smiled. "Why is your face red..."

Before she could finish, he suddenly pulled her into his arms.

The kiss came out of nowhere.

...

The next morning, Mariella woke up pounding on the bed.

"I'm screwed, I'm screwed!"

She and Chandler had lost control after drinking.

No, he'd only had one can of beer. That shouldn't have happened.

As she gradually came to her senses, she realized there was no one beside her.

The large Yulasian-style leather bed only showed wrinkles on her side. The other half was perfectly smooth and untouched.

That was when it hit her that it had all just been a dream.

Oh god, could anything be more embarrassing?

She couldn't believe it, and she was even starting to question her own memory.

She got up and checked the surveillance. Sure enough, everything had been a dream.

Chandler had never knocked on her door, never shown off his chest, and definitely hadn't kissed her.

So it really had just been a dream.

No wonder she couldn't find her phone in it, and the virtual display in her space had disappeared too.

Now that she confirmed the truth, she felt like she'd been struck by lightning.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. Chandler's low, familiar voice came from outside. "You up?"

Chandler clearly hadn't expected her to answer the door in pajamas. He paused, then politely looked away.

"It's already past nine."

Mariella yawned, trying to hide her awkwardness. "Yeah, I was exhausted, so I slept in a bit."

She absolutely could not let him find out about that humiliating dream.

Seeing the faint blush on her face, Chandler somehow felt a little uneasy too.

"I'll wait in the dining room. Breakfast in ten minutes." With that, he turned and left.

...

After washing up, Mariella went downstairs to find that Chandler had already set out a table full of hot breakfast.

Her appetite was instantly awakened. She sat down, took a bite, and was amazed. "This custard is so soft! I don't even remember where I bought it."

"I made it," Chandler said.

Mariella paused, instantly intrigued. "So you can cook too."

"I'm a retired special forces soldier, so I picked up a bit of everything during overseas missions," Chandler replied evenly.

As she savored the silky custard, her gaze toward him brightened, and she teased, "You're basically the perfect all-rounder."

Chandler lowered his head and continued eating. After a moment, he changed the subject. "No idea what's happening at No. 98 since last night."

Inside the space, they were completely cut off from the outside world. He couldn't even leave, so he could only worry.

Mariella said with certainty, "Since Black Bear and Tigre started fighting, it won't end anytime soon. They're the same type of person, so Black Bear's manipulation tactics won't work on Tigre."

Everything Black Bear promised Tigre's men, Tigre had already given them.

And by now, everyone knew how greedy and cruel Black Bear was. The guards and bodyguards who joined him were exploited to the extreme—scraping by on leftovers while being pushed to the front lines as cannon fodder.

Meanwhile, Tigre's men wouldn't easily defect, and this was bound to turn into a prolonged standoff.

Chandler nodded. "Makes sense."

After breakfast, he cleared the dishes and went to the kitchen to wash up.

Mariella gathered the trash, then suddenly remembered something and stepped out onto the villa's balcony.

She took one look and froze.

The four-story villa had become five stories. There was now a second basement level, and the virtual display showed that the total area had expanded to 13,000 square feet.

The garden had grown by another 4,000 square feet, now spanning a full acre. The small pool had also turned into a pond, and it was shimmering under the sunlight.

And more importantly, the distance between the garden and the sky no longer seemed limited by the villa's height. Which meant oversized items were no longer restricted by the space's height limit. She could store them directly in the garden now.
