Apocalypse Queen: My Space, My Rules Chapter 82: Trouble at the Door

The three of them were still chatting when Stanley quietly revealed an important piece of information: bank staff would be arriving at Celestine Ridge today to refill the cash inside the ATMs.

They were arriving together with the police on the same speedboat.

Mariella immediately understood. This meant the bank was planning a scheduled cash replenishment for the mountain estate's ATMs. As expected, things were moving exactly as she anticipated.

While they were still talking, Lucky suddenly erupted into furious barking and bolted forward.

Almost instantly, screams rang out from outside—sharp cries from a woman, a man's furious shout, and the whistling sound of a blade cutting through the air.

Mariella rushed into the courtyard. Lucky was already lunging at Harvey, teeth bared, attacking him with relentless fury.

Roxanna stood nearby, screaming in terror. Harvey had drawn a short blade from his waist and was desperately trying to fend off the dog while stomping and shouting, "Get off me! Damn dog!"

Lucky looked at him like a sworn enemy, eyes blazing with hatred, growling low in his throat.

"Ms. Townsend, please restrain your dog!" Stanley called out quickly.

"Lucky, come back." Mariella's voice cut through the chaos.

Although unwilling to let Harvey go, Lucky obeyed and retreated.

Roxanna immediately threw herself into Harvey's arms, trembling. "Harvey, I was so scared! This dog is insane!"

"Mariella!" Harvey finally shoved Roxanna aside and turned on her in fury. "I told you to get rid of that dog! Why are you still ignoring me and doing whatever you want?"

Mariella gave a cold laugh. "Why should I listen to you? Who do you think you are?"

"Woof! Woof! Woof!" Lucky barked again furiously, backing her up.

Harvey steadied himself, only then remembering why he had come.

"Officer Button, Ms. Townsend kidnapped Kingston! She's also illegally storing firearms and leaking my company's trade secrets! Otherwise, how could a normal employee afford this villa and hire a private security team? I demand you arrest her!"

Stanley's expression turned serious. "Mr. Graham, do you have any evidence? Defamation carries legal consequences."

The police were already overwhelmed. They had no time for these side disputes.

Today's mission was to escort bank staff to the ATMs, and everything else was secondary.

Only because of pressure from above had he also asked around about Kingston's disappearance.

Harvey frowned, realizing Stanley wasn't immediately siding with him, but continued anyway. "Kingston had a conflict with her recently and suffered losses. He couldn't swallow it, so two nights ago he borrowed a helicopter and went to settle the score with her, but he still hasn't returned!"

"He came to trouble me, and now I'm supposed to be responsible for his safety?" Mariella interrupted sharply. She turned to Stanley. "Is that written into any law?"

Stanley waved it off. "If you're accusing Ms. Townsend, you'll need evidence. Otherwise, there's nothing we can do."

Roxanna bit her lip and stepped forward again, only to be met with another furious bark from Lucky. She screamed and hid back in Harvey's arms.

Harvey didn't push her away this time. Instead, he said softly, "We will find Kingston. Whoever harmed him won't get away with it."

"Please, don't hurt Kingston," Roxanna cried. "He's our family. Even if he acted rashly, he wouldn't really hurt you. He's been missing for days, and only you know where he is, don't you?" She tried to approach Mariella again, but Lucky's barking forced her back.

She screamed and jumped right back into Harvey's arms.

Harvey snapped, "Control your dog!"

"Shut up." Mariella's tone turned icy. "Even together, you're not worth a single hair on my dog. Get off my property and stop making a scene."

"Woof!" Lucky barked proudly.

He had fully regained confidence that his owner would never abandon him for that man again.

The young officer leaned toward his superior. "Sir, we should head back."

Before Stanley could respond, Harvey quickly added, "Kingston's disappearance is definitely related to Mariella. She's also leaking Graham Group's confidential information! You should arrest her and interrogate her!"

Stanley smiled faintly. "Mr. Graham, aren't you currently supposed to be under detention? Your heatstroke seems to have recovered. You should come back to the station and register."

"I-I'm still unwell," Harvey coughed weakly, suddenly changing tone. "I'm staying home to recover so I don't take up hospital space needed by other disaster victims."

"Oh, I see." Stanley nodded. "You looked perfectly energetic just now. I thought you were already fine."

Roxanna quickly supported Harvey. "Harvey, let's go back."

Only after the two of them left did the farce finally end.

Stanley offered Mariella a few words of reassurance before preparing to leave with the young officer.
