Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl Chapter 105

Wren

My eyes drift to Ezra for the tenth time this night. Since the call, he's been much more quiet.

"Baby?" I lift a brow, watching him twirl the spoon around his food. He's been eating really slowly too.

He forces a smile. "Yes, love?"

"Are you going to tell me what the call was about?"

"It's nothing really."

"You look like you have a lot on your mind."

"I'm just thinking," he replies. "Eat, love. I'm fine."

"You're not eating either."

"Okay then. Let's eat...both of us."

I agree. No one says anything again, both of us trying our best to hold down our dinner.

In about thirty minutes, we push our plates away and drink some water, eyes staring at each other over the rim of our cups.

"I'll place them in the dishwasher." I stand.

He stands too. "Don't worry, I'll do it."

"No." I frown. "You cooked, I'll clean."

"We cooked together—"

"Sit babe. Let me." I take the plates away, giving him the time and space he needs to get his thoughts together.

When I get back, he has his face in his hands. I run a hand down his back, and into his hair.

"Talk to me," I coax softly. "What's bothering you? What did Ray say?"

He heaves out a deep breath. "We're meeting Reggie's president in three days. And we've been asked to come with you."

"Me?"

"I'll never take you there. We need to find your decoy."

"What? Why?" My brows pinch. "They're not gonna hurt me, are they?"

"We can't say, but there's a chance anything could go wrong."

"I can come with," I tell him. "They need me right? You and the guys will be there, I'm sure I'll be fine."

He scoffs. "Absolutely not, Wren."

"Think about it. If they find out it's not me, they'll be upset."

"That's why they won't find out and also why we need a good decoy."

"Ezra, babe," I sigh. "Let me—"

"No, Wren." He pushes to his feet, striding up the stairs.

I follow quietly.

I'm worried. This decoy thing will not work, I know it. I've seen movies and shows and it never works. You cannot deceive bad people...not entirely.

You'd always get caught. And repercussions are worse.

"So do you have a decoy?" I ask instead.

Honestly, we don't have to fight everytime so I'm trying to be as calm and as supportive because that's what he needs.

He's in his head. Already thinking of all the things that could go wrong. I don't want to add to it, it'll be insensitive.

He shakes his head and whips off his shirt. "No. Not yet. We're looking into it."

I force my eyes away from his toned chest and arms.

"But it has to be someone from the club, right?"

"Yea. We can't drag outsiders into this." He takes off his shorts.

Heat flames my cheeks. "So you'd rather risk another person's life for me? Isn't that selfish of you and Ray?"

"We won't force anyone."

I shake my head. "Ezra..."

He curls an arm around my waist and nuzzles my neck softly.

"You're trying to distract me," I complain.

"Is it working?"

"Not even a little."

He snorts and drags his shirt off my frame before taking me to bed and throwing the covers over us.

"We still have three days," he murmurs, playing with my hair. "Let's not talk about this tonight."

I trace his chest, his heartbeat powerful against my ears. "It's not going to be fair."

"It would only be a willing participation."

"And what if no one is willing?"

"Someone would be."

"But what if—"

"Let's think about this tomorrow, sweetheart. Please?" He begs, arms wrapped tightly around me.

I pout. "Okay, I guess. I still think I should go with you guys to—"

"If you don't stop talking, Wren, I'll fuck you to sleep."

My jaw drops in horror and I smack his chest. "Ezra!"

His body shakes with silent laughter, and I huff.

[Three Days Later]

"There's some resemblance," Ray mumbles looking at Kelsie—my decoy.

I press my lips together, swallowing down the laughter in my chest.

Kelsie is a dark-haired slender lady. Mrs Dee's niece. The only thing we have in common is our blue eyes, though mine is still a tad brighter.

But with the bronde wig she has on, and the little makeup...she looks like me by twenty percent.

Hey, it's better than nothing.

Ezra nods. "Yea..I can..I can see... some?"

I snort and Kelsie chuckles.

"We just need to take some videos of Wren in the car," Ezra says. "Just in case they ask for photo evidence or video evidence."

"Jesus, this is crazy. Just let me come with you guys!" I throw my hands up in exasperation.

"No!" Ezra and Ray chorus.

Quincy lets out a tired chuckle clutching her bottle of water. I give her a small smile. It's only a matter of days now before she pops.

We're at Rays going over this deceit that they plan to do.

"This isn't going to work."

"Not with that attitude, it won't," Ray retorts, glaring.

I shrug. "Suit yourself then."

"You can't come, Wren. It's easier when they realize it's not you and send us away, than for them to see it's you and hurt you," Ezra explains.

I guess when he puts it like that..."So what next then?"

"We'll take pictures and videos of you in the car. Kelsie will sit wherever you sit. And that's it," Ray says. "After that, you get back in the house and stay with Quincy until we return."

I roll my eyes. "Fine."

Everyone except Quincy files out of the house and toward the car.

"Are we ready to go?" Clay gruffs from his bike.

Ray tips his head in acknowledgment. "Not yet. Donovan, come help us with a picture."

Torch frowns at me. "What's going on?"

"Just some extra precautions." I form a camera with my hands and make a 'click-click'.

His eyes widen in understanding. "Ah. But—"

"Come on, Wren."

Ezra guides me into the car. A look passes between us and I know what look that is...Tomorrow, we tell Ray about us.

God, I hope everything goes well and we don't have to postpone again.

Donovan takes the videos and pictures while I manage to look as helpless and as sad as possible.

When he stops and stares at me, a chill runs down my spine and I brush it away, forcing a smile on my face.

"What is it?" I ask. "Do I have something on my—"

"You don't."

That's all he says. So curt. So...I don't know.

His jaw ticks and he hands the phone to Ray. I shake off the chills and step out of the car.

"She has texted," Ray announces. "They're waiting."

"Get in Kelsie and Donovan," Ezra says then gives me a small, barely noticeable smile. "Love you," he mouths.

I make sure Ray isn't looking when I respond, "Love you."

And they drive off, Torch and Clay following on their bikes.
