Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl Chapter 155

The yard at the clubhouse is bustling with so much energy. There's drinks, there's food, there's music.

We decided that the reception be held much later in the evening especially because of how our morning went.

Besides, my wife needed the full details of what happened this morning including a meeting with Donovan.

Whatever wife wants, wife gets.

Speaking of her, I see her striding up to me in her third outfit for the night. A short, flared out dress. Her long legs are on display, and fuck, if she bends just a little bit, she'll be flashing everyone.

We've barely had time to be together since after the wedding and the meeting with Donovan. We've been pulled this way and that, especially because this reception did not need an event planner.

We wanted to throw a proper MC wedding reception, so I'm not surprised when I hear gun shots being fired from a distance.

Thankfully, all the kids are at Ray's with the nanny, and my mom.

Once Wren is close enough, I yank her towards me. "Jesus, do you know how sexy you look in that dress? You're killing me. Are you trying to seduce me?"

"Is it working?" She teases.

"Hell yes." I slide my hand down the curve of her hips and slap her bum.

"EJ!" Ray scolds. "No one wants to see that."

Quincy laughs. "I do!! Go ahead, newlyweds."

Wren flushes, and hides her face in my neck. I chuckle, rubbing her back.

From the corner of my eye, I see Ajax nursing a drink with his angry eyes fixed in one direction on the field. I follow his gaze and I'm not surprised to see that he's glaring at Judi who's dancing with one of the bikers.

I nudge Wren. "Look at AJ. He's killing off that man Judi's dancing with, with his eyes."

She turns and laughs. "They like each other."

"Who? Judi and the biker?"

"No. Judi and Ajax. It's been three years since they met, tell your brother to make a move."

"Like he'd confide in me about his love life." I snort.

Unlike Beth and I, Ajax is the most reserved. And the most cool-headed, always rational with his thoughts and actions no matter what.

"You can try," she says. "Judi's been hopelessly single, and I think she's waiting for him too. If he keeps her waiting for too long, she'll move on."

"Look at us, barely married yet we're trying to play matchmaker."

She wraps her arms around my neck. "We're not playing matchmaker. We want everyone to experience our kind of love too."

"Yea?" I sway us gently, ignoring the fast beat of the music that thrums in the yard. "And what's our kind of love?"

"The selfless kind," she replies. Her eyes turn wistful, a soft smile on her face. "The kind that doesn't run at the slightest inconvenience. The kind that fights for us, the kind that consumes us in the best way possible. And most importantly, the kind that promises a better tomorrow."

Those words strike something in me, and it reminds me of how we got here. Wren's right. Our kind of love is worth emulating, it's worth experiencing.

"Our kind of love sounds beautiful," I murmur.

"It really is."

We sway quietly, my mind thinking through what she said.

Thankfully, my legs feel much better and I can stand for long now, swaying my wife.

When I had the episode in the car, Mitch was horrified. He didn't know how badly he'd ruined my legs, and he spent the better part of the ride apologising over and over again.

I forgave him. In fact, I'd already forgiven him.

I hadn't had an episode in nearly two years, so for a second, I forgot how painful it used to be. I'm so fucking glad I made it to my wedding on my own two feet.

Our dance is cut short when I'm tapped, and I look up to find Donovan.

Wren's grip tightens on my shirt. She's still wary, and that's alright. I hold her firmly to my side, a silent declaration that I've got her.

"Hi, Wren," he croaks. "I just wanted to say congratulations again. And I'm still so very sorry about everything that happened. You may not believe it, but after the incident, I had to sit with myself for a while...."

He runs a hand down his face, the loss of two fingers from when Ajax shot his hand, doesn't fail to catch me off guard.

"It's fine, Donovan. You've already explained."

"I know, I just...I'm just so sorry, still. I shouldn't have done what I did, and I'm thankful that you accepted me for this wedding. It means a whole lot."

It really does. Because Donovan looks like shit. When we ambushed him earlier, he was nose deep into coke, jittery as fuck.

And then he tried to attack but how could he? One against the number of us. So, he broke down. Swore that he didn't want to fight, swore that he just wants to live his life.

I believed him. I still do.

Before I knew it, I invited him to the wedding. I thought...if Mitch could forgive me for what happened with his brother, how couldn't I forgive Donovan for what happened to my child?

Wren rubs his arm politely. "It's fine. Though, you should stop the drugs, check yourself into rehab or something."

"Y-yea." He nods. "I should probably do that."

"Yup."

Donovan turns to me. "Thank you, EJ. For what it's worth, you and Ray are the best VP and Prez any MC could ask for."

"Thank you. Are you leaving?"

"Yes, I... I came to say goodbye. Probably for good this time."

I nod once. "Alright. Be safe, Don."

His head bobs and he walks away. Wren sighs and turns to me. "He's a mess."

"Yea..." I trail off, watching him go. "You know, I'm glad I didn't shoot him off. I was so ready to have my revenge."

"I'm glad you didn't shoot him either. He looks like he'd be happy if you did though."

"And that's a problem."

Wren sighs and shakes her head. "At least everyone's partying hard. Brittany RSVP'd that she won't be able to make it for the wedding."

"Did she say why?"

"Nah." She shrugs. "Maybe she's busy, you know."

"Maybe."

"Ugh! It's a happy day for us, let's not get all somber. Look around–" she waves to the people dancing, drinking, eating and talking together, "our friends and family are here. Let's enjoy it properly."

"Yes, wife!"

She smacks my chest with a laugh. "What happened to 'darling', 'babe', 'sweetheart'? Did those endearments suddenly disappear from your vocabulary?"

"No," I snort. "I'm just trying to remind myself that we're actually married. I'm your husband, and you're my wife!"

"Your fucking wife!"

"That's it!"

She throws her head back with a full belly laugh, then tugs me smack dab to the center of the field, among the sea of dancing bodies.

The last time I was in this yard, I was beaten to a bloody pulp because Ray forbade me from being with his sister.

Yet, here I am.

Three years later on this very yard, having the time of my life with his sister, who just became my wife.

If someone told me then that Wren and I will come this far, I'd believe them.

You know why?

Because I was fucking ready to fight for this woman. She would've been mine, one way or the other.

Wren is my other half, my missing piece. She complements me, and she completes me. Everyday and in every way.

And as we dance in the midst of our loved ones, I know for a fact that there's nothing I wouldn't do for this woman, nothing I wouldn't give to her.

Plus the fact she's carrying our baby in her womb? Goddamn, I'll give her the world if she asks for it.

"Hey." I place a firm hand on her waist.

She grins up at me. "Hey."

"I...I want to show you something. Come with me?"

"You know I'd follow you anywhere."

My cheeks flush, and I laugh off my nerves at the blush that creeps up my cheeks. "That was smooth."

Her eyes widen. "Are you blushing?"

"Never. Come on." I tug her by the hand toward the clubhouse.

We make our way inside where we see Mitch, tongue down his girlfriend's—Olivia—mouth.

He pulls away when he sees us, and I wave him off. "Oh please, carry on. Where's Pete though?"

"Asleep. Torch and Clay helped me put him in one of the rooms."

"Alright."

I lead Wren up the stairs and to my former room, clicking the door shut behind us.

"Ezra?"

"Yes?" I shrug my shirt off.

Her eyes narrow but shine with humor. "Did you bring me here to consummate our marriage?"

"What? No!" I laugh. "I mean, we will definitely do that when we get home later tonight. But that's not why I brought you here."

I crook my palm. "Come, look."

She steps closer and I point to my chest— just above my heart— showing her the new tattoos I got.

A gasp spills from her lips, and goosebumps spread across my skin as she traces the names on my chest.

Wren Jax.

Hannah Jax.

Hayden Jax.

"When did you get this?" Her voice thickens with emotion.

"Not too long ago," I reply.

She lifts those pools of blue to mine. "It's beautiful."

"You three—and our future babies—are the most important people in my life. You have no idea the joy you bring me, the peace, the hope...Wren, I know I've told you over again how much I love you, but I need you to know that...what I feel for you, it's more than love.

"There's no word to describe it. You are everything to me, Wren." I cup her jaw, pressing our foreheads together. "There's no me, without you."

A tear rolls down her cheek and I thumb it away.

"God," she sniffles. "What did I ever do to deserve you?"

That question is so simple, and the answer sits at the tip of my tongue...

"You exist."

And that's all she has to do.

Exist.

With that, I kiss my woman...my pretty girl...my wife.

And the love of my life.

After everything...we finally made it to each other's arms.

We fucking made it.

Together.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for our little family.
