Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl Chapter 75

Wren

"What?!" I shriek.

My breath ceases in my lungs, stomach hollowing out.

Ezra slumps down on his bed, hand in his hair.

"Yea," he croaks, lifting red-rimmed eyes to me. "We're on a search for a boyfriend worthy of you."

The words come out bitter, dry.

He told me about Ray's dumb idea to get me a boyfriend. And I'm speechless, at a total loss for words.

"W-what did you say?"

"What would you have me say, Wren? Ray will never approve of this, he's not going to accept it."

"B-but we can try." I stand between his legs. "We have to try, baby."

His jaw tightens. "He's gonna hate me."

"He'll understand."

Tugging his hair, he sighs. "Fuck! This...we should not have let it get this far, Wren."

The breath leaves me in a whoosh. I stiffen, mind racing a million miles.

"W-what are you trying to say?" I whisper.

He peers up at me, then tugs me closer to him, wrapping his arms around my waist. I breathe a little easier, massaging his scalp.

He groans in my tummy. "I can't lose you, sweetheart. Not when I've gotten this close... it's impossible."

"I don't want to lose you either."

"What the fuck are we going to do?"

Bending at the waist, I kiss the top of his head and just keep holding him. We stay in that make shift embrace for as long as we can, both of us lost in our own thoughts.

"What if I talk to him...alone?" I finally speak.

He presses his lips to my tummy. "Whatever we do, Birdie, we do together."

"Okay." I heave a sigh.

"Maybe after this Reggie case is settled, alright? We'll talk to him, get it over with and respect whatever he decides."

"After doing our utmost best to convince him we're perfect for each other, right?"

"Absolutely, sweetheart." He chuckles. "The clubhouse has been tense for a bit, Ray suggested I host a party at one of my bars tomorrow night."

I frown. "Is this really the time to be partying?"

"Everyone's on edge, jumpy. He says he needs us to relax a bit."

All because of Reggie and the rest of Tristan's men. Even in death, Tristan still finds ways to keep me unhappy, to torment me... and my family.

"Am I invited?"

"Of course you are. I wouldn't leave this house without you."

My whole body hums, cheeks stained with blush.

"We should get some rest then," I say. "Looks like we'd have a long day tomorrow."

He pulls away. "Not exactly. Arwin and others will set it up for us, and also close it down for the patrons."

"Still, I'm exhausted, and you should be too." A yawn breaks out at just the right time, emphasizing my point.

Ezra eyes shimmer. "You're right. We need to rest. Come here, darling."

We crawl up on the bed and snuggle beneath the blankets Ezra throws over us.

The sound of his steady heartbeat in my ears quickly lulls me to sleep.

Everyone is drunk, high...or both. It's a raucous in here.

Music is blasting through the speakers, chatters seeming to drown out the music but never really doing so.

There's people dancing, drinking some more or even in a drunken haze.

"Jesus, Ezra, it's barely an hour," I yell over the noise.

His grip tightens in my hand, pulling me through the mass of bodies.

"They deserve this," he yells back when we're out of the crowd.

"VP!" Clay shouts, waving frantically.

He's held up by Donovan who looks bored out of his mind. Probably the only person sober.

They stumble—well, only Clay stumbles—toward us.

"EJ," Donovan greets with a nod. "Prez is around here somewhere, although he said he'll need to be home soon."

He looks at me. "Hello, Wren."

Something flickers in his gaze but it disappears before I can think about it.

I smile softly. "Hello, Donovan."

He's one of the guys that Ray assigned to guard the house. He doesn't talk to me much, not like Torch and Clay.

"Keep an eye on her," Ezra instructs. "I'll go find Ray."

As he leaves, I feel exposed. Rubbing my arms, I look around the room.

"I'll go, urm..." my thumb jerks towards the bar. "I'll be at the bar."

"Mhm." Donovan grunts, then helps Clay up as they trudge through the crowd.

Arwin and Lizzy grin at me from behind the counter, and that's enough to put my nerves at ease.

"Hey, pretty girl," Arwin greets, standing across from him.

"Hi, Arwin."

Lizzy waves at me. "You look awesome, as usual."

"Where's the new bartender?"

"Tessa? She's under the weather—" her words get cut off when someone approaches her side of the counter.

Arwin slides a glass to me. "Taste it."

I raise a brow. "What's in it?"

"Guess."

"Arwin...come on."

"Trust me, you'll love it."

I glance down at the clear liquid.

It knocks down the back of my throat. There's a slight burn to it, but also a mix of sour and sweet taste.

"Mhm." A burst of flavors explode in my mouth. "No, this is really good. Is it part of the menu?"

"Nah. Mr. Jax won't allow it."

My lips curl downward. "Why not?"

"He's very particular about what goes on and in here."

Definitely sounds like my boyfriend.

Speaking of him, I see both he and Ray stepping out from behind one of the halls.

Arwin scurries away as soon as they start walking this way.

Ezra stands close enough to feel his body heat but far enough to avoid suspicions.

"Hi Chirp." Ray ruffles my hair.

"Stop it," I hiss with a glare, swatting his hand away. "You'll mess up my hair, I just got here?"

He raises his hands in surrender. "My bad. I'm about leaving though, Quincy just texted."

"Oh...she needs you, I guess. My regards."

"Of course." He turns to Ezra. "EJ, take care of her."

When they do their man hug, Ray whispers to him.

Ezra's jaw tightens, and he subtly grips my pinkie.

Well, I guess Ray just pissed him off.

Ray leaves immediately after, and Ezra huffs.

"What did he say?" I ask.

"He's reminding me of the boyfriend thing."

"This is ridiculous." I roll my eyes. "You know what? Let's dance."

He looks around the room. "Here?"

"We'll find a corner."

"That's careless, Wren."

"We both need to loosen up too, let's go upstairs."

His gaze tilts upward. "We sent my bouncers home."

"Even better." I jump from seat. "Let's go."

My body brushes his, fingers skimming across his hands as I walk past him.

His sharp inhale follows me all the way to the staircase and up until I reach the VIP archway.

True to his word, there are no bouncers.

The moment my feet halt by the railing, Ezra presses his body against my back, a glass of whiskey in his hand.

Somehow, the music seems louder up here, the vibrations settling in my chest. The crowd downstairs are lost in their own worlds, none seeming to mind.

But even the thought of someone looking up here, sends a thrill up my spine.

"What if someone sees us?" He murmurs in my ears, kissing my neck.

My lower belly clenches, heart pounding in my chest.

"Th-they won't," I breathe.

Our hips move together with the music. One of his hand curls around my waist.

His teeth tug on my earlobe.

I feel it straight in my core. I shudder.

"Fuck," he cusses when I roll my hips. "Do that again."

And I do.

He pushes his glass to the nearest table, and grips my waist with both hands.

"You want to dance? Let's dance, sweetheart."

His length settles snug against me as I move. Throwing my hands up, I hook them around his neck from behind.

I quickly get lost in it. In his touch against my bare waist and thighs, in his kisses across the plane of my neck and ears.

When he sucks on my neck, my eyes fall shut, lips parting on a soundless moan.

"It excites you, doesn't it?" He curls a hand around my throat. "The thought of being caught, the thought that anyone could walk in and see."

He pushes against me. Goosebumps break out across my skin.

"I...I don't kn-know..." I pant.

"You're a dirty little girl," he chuckles low, palming my breast.

My eyes roll to the back of my head, and he smashes his lips against mine.
