The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 10
Two months have passed and now there’s only one more month before my birthday. Every night I go to that special dream place and meet Alexander and we’ve had some steamy make out sessions. Once my nightgown actually came off and I tore his shirt off. Unfortunately, he has more self-control when it comes to us having sex and he stopped us before things got carried away. He laughed at me when I pouted at him and told me to just be patient.
The day after that dream two months ago, Zach and I did spar together and of course I kicked his ass. Renee hasn’t really been talking to me since my brother commanded her to stay away from him. She blames me for him doing that and no matter what I say she doesn’t believe me. My brother told me that now I know that she was never my true friend because a true friend would believe me when I tell them the truth. He even told me that he always suspected that she was only my friend in order to get close to him. Now that I’ve had time to think about it, I think that he may be right. Oh well, you live, and you learn. Maybe she’ll find her mate soon and leave us all alone. I’d love for him to be a part of another pack so she can be taken away.
Other than my ex best friend giving me evil looks when we pass each other, everything else has been great. I’ve seen wonderful changes in Zach, and he is even more pleasant for me to be around. I had my brother lift the command completely. When I found out he lifted it partially for Zach to talk to me that day at the gym, I was a little pissed, but then I calmed down when I realized why he did it in the first place. He said he didn’t like the thought of me rejecting Zach if he turned out to be my mate. Not only would it hurt me, but it would weaken Zach as his Beta and break his heart. Second chance mates are rare, but they do happen and even though I’m an Alpha and he’s a Beta, that still doesn’t guarantee that we’ll get a second chance.
After practice today, I decided to go for a longer run than normal to get rid of some of this excess energy. Lately I’ve been having plenty of extra energy that I can’t seem to work off during training. Going for a run after training and then right before bed seems to help, but usually by morning most of that energy is back. My appetite has picked up a great deal as well. One day at breakfast I happened to look up and they were all looking at me and when I asked what was wrong, they all just shrugged and said “Nothing” before going back to eating.
Zach finally spoke after we were all done and said that “I had quite the appetite lately” but before I could say anything, Renee walked by with her new friends and said “It is probably cause she’s carrying your baby Zach. You know pregnant women tend to eat more.” She started laughing and so did her new friends but before she could walk off, I was out of my chair and had her pinned to the wall by her throat faster than anyone including myself could have imagined.
“You should watch what you say. Don’t forget that I am not some lowly, mindless, female that will follow you around because I’m desperate for attention. I am the daughter of the Alpha and Luna of this pack, and you will show me the proper respect. I don’t disrespect anyone from Alpha to Omega of this pack and demand that same respect back. Now as you and everyone else here know, I don’t condone violence unless it is to protect my family or this pack but step out of line with me again and I’ll gladly make an exception. Don’t take it out on me because my brother had no choice but to force you to stay away from him. Unlike you, he is choosing to wait for his mate which is an honorable quality in a male wolf. I’ve tried sparing your feelings because I thought you were my friend but no longer. I hope to the Goddess that you are not my brother’s mate because he deserves better than a gold-digging slut like you, and if you are his mate, I hope the Goddess blesses him with a second chance one and that he rejects your sorry ass.” I drop her and watch her eyes water as she gasps trying to catch her breath.
“So pathetic. Had you taken training seriously, you wouldn’t have to fight so hard to breathe. I barely applied any pressure. Do you still think you’re good enough for my brother?” I walked off and ever since then she hasn’t tried to cross me, but she does still glare at me from far away. My parents didn’t approve of how I handled the situation, but she deserved what she got.
Alexander’s POV
“GET OUT!” If one more person comes into my office and tells me that something else has gone wrong, I’m going to murder someone. There is less than one month before the Mating Ball and so far, nothing except the decorations, invitations, and music has been assembled. The menu I sent for the ball is creole and barbecue themed and I have some of the best chefs in the world working for me, but for some reason the ones in charge of ordering the food did not order what the cooks needed. Somehow the list they received of food to order was for some kind of finger sandwiches and other crap that, I was told, was more for a bridal or baby shower.
Honestly, I was so close to firing them, but when they said that part, instantly I knew what happened. I asked to see the paperwork so that I could see who signed off on that list and there in black and white was her signature. She was too stupid to not sign her name on the papers. I mind-linked my Beta and had him call her parents and mine and tell Michelle to come to my office immediately.
“Yes, your majesty.”
My patience is running extremely thin with her, and respect for her parents is the only reason I have not removed her head from her shoulders or put her in the dungeon for her disrespectful ways. I’ve had enough. She crossed the line trying to sabotage my mate’s birthday and the Mating Ball for the other shifters. Thirty minutes later, everyone is in my office looking very confused. My Beta and a few guards stand by the door just in case this doesn’t go as I plan. Michelle has a temper, and she gets it from her father. None of them are strong enough to do anything to me but I would rather not go there because if my Lycan feels disrespected I may not be able to control him with how angry I already am now. My father is the first to break the silence.
“Son, why have you called us all here? What is the emergency?” Everyone looks at me with an anxious expression and I try to figure out how to tell them what they need to know without saying anything about me finding my mate. My Beta is the only one that knows about her, and I want to keep it that way until the Mating Ball.
“I’ve called you all here because apparently the talk we had that Sunday at dinner did not sink in for some of us.” I look pointedly at Michelle and notice that everyone else follows my gaze to her.
“Michelle, what have you done now?” Her father asks her.
“I have no idea what he’s talking about. He said don’t come to the palace without permission or ask him out anymore and I’ve done both. I don’t know what the hell else you people want from me!” She’s yelling by the end of it and a low growl slips out of my lips. Her father quickly reprimands her, though I can tell he wants to defend his daughter.
“Your majesty, if she has done all that you’ve asked of her, what is the problem? I’m a bit confused.” Her mother asks me in her meek little voice. In all the years I have known the woman, I have never known her to yell or raise her voice. She is the opposite of her mate whom I have seen yell and raise his voice at their daughter and others that he deemed to be beneath him.
“Well, it has come to my attention that the menu I had scheduled for the Mating Ball was changed to that of a ‘bridal/baby shower’ type of menu according to my chefs. Now I tried to figure out why and who would do something like that, especially since time is so crucial in getting everything prepared. I mean who would change my menu without my permission and to that type of menu no less?”
“I had nothing to do with...”
“SILENCE!” I cut her off before she could let the lie slip out of her mouth. “Let me stop you before you commit the crime of lying to your King. I would rather avoid throwing you into the dungeons so just stop talking and save yourself.” She hangs her head and I continue talking. “Now before anyone asks, yes, I have proof. You see she signed off on the menu change and used her own name. Michelle, I was really hoping it wasn’t you but when I saw the name and the type of food that was ordered, this had you written all over it. Tell me why you changed the menu.” She remained quiet with her head down and her silence was starting to annoy me. I turned my head to look at my parents when I heard a loud slap. We all turned in the direction and what we saw surprised us. Her meek mother had her hand raised to slap her again, but her father was restraining her. The woman had an angry look on her face replacing her usual calm demeanor.
