The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 101

As the night drew closer, Alex had the army and everyone else assembled in the courtyard to give some kind of speech, but in reality, it was nothing more than threats. Basically, he told them that if any changed their minds about fighting that he would kill them and their families. In my experience, fear can be a good motivator to get people to do what you want, but there are consequences to using fear. After they’ve done what you said and are out of danger, there is always the chance of retaliation later. There’s a saying that the problem with having your foot on a tiger’s neck is that you can never let it up. He has his foot on a lot of tigers’ necks right now and I feel bad for the real Alex when he comes back because he’ll have to deal with all the backlash.

When his motivational speech was done, which I heard none of because I was thinking of other things, he came over to me and asked if I was ready. I just looked up at him for a second before walking away from him. He and I haven’t been communicating since our little blow up when he found out that I was marked. I’m still not understanding what he was so angry about because it isn’t like I was ever going to share a bed with him. I’m not crazy or naive by any means. He forgets that I am older than he is, and I can tell when a man wants me. I told him when this first started that nothing would ever happen between us. This is just business. He is to help me end my life in exchange for me helping him and I’ve done my part. Now, I haven’t gone completely soft because I told Freya that if there’s anyone, she cares about she had better keep them off the battlefield. I will try my best not to hurt her family or friends and their mates with the exception of Michelle. She got one of my fellow dark witches killed blabbing to them about Bellevue. I’m a guardian witch by birth but I no longer consider myself a witch of light. I’ve done too much to even consider that life anymore and have embraced the darkness and my fate to die when this is over or before.

A strong arm grabs me and pulls me back right before I reach the stairs. My front slams into his chest and I look up to see his nostrils flaring and his eyes have turned red. A normal person would be scared at the sight, but I just continue to stare at him. Nothing in this life scares me anymore, least of all him. If he does decide to kill me now, then I guess I’ll be going before the battle and that is just fine with me. I’ve already said my goodbyes anyway.

“Why do you continue to test my patience, Tabitha?” he growls at me.

“For the same reason you ask me dumb questions Alex, because I can.”

“How is asking if you’re ready a dumb question?”

“When have I not been ready? I’ve done everything you’ve asked in record time even though you pestered me every step of the way. Then, when I need to take walks to meditate and get in touch with nature, which is one of the sources of my powers, you accuse me of going to be with my mate and possibly betraying you. And still, I am ready. Does that answer your question?” I ask him sarcastically with a hint of annoyance.

“I’ve told you about talking to me that way. I am your king, and you will respect me.” He growls even louder than before and I only stare at him.

“And I’ve told you that you are not my king. I am a witch, and we have no monarchs. Remember, I was mated to a Lycan, but I am not one. As for respecting you, that’s laughable. You command respect but give none. You take out your anger on a whole kingdom when the cause of your pain is the one within you. At least my revenge was on those that actually caused my pain by killing my mate.”

“They deserve everything that I am doing to them and then some.” he yelled.

“That’s a lie and you know it, but what do I care. I won’t be here much longer. I’ll be with my true mate soon.” He looks at me with a little shock on his face and I just chuckle. “Did you really think I didn’t know that you were planning to kill me when this is all over? Silly Lycan, why do you think I chose to work with you? I’m the one that put all of this in motion because I knew that you are the only one capable of killing me. The surprise was how this played out because I didn’t expect there to be an already evil side to the Lycan King. Had I known I could have saved myself a lot of trouble. Anyway, what’s done is done and I’ll soon be gone.” I turned away from him and started walking up the stairs and to my bedroom to change my clothes.

Once I changed into black jeans and a royal blue blouse with white sneakers, I headed back downstairs to find that he had changed his clothes as well. He is now wearing royal armor which makes absolutely no sense to me instead of his jeans and t-shirt from earlier. He watches me as I continue down the stairs and walk past him while rolling my eyes at his attire.

"Nice clothes.” I say as I pass him heading to the front door. When I see him standing there and not moving as I open the door, I just smirk at him. “You coming or are you not ready your majesty?”

“I’m always ready.”
