The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 86
Everyone that hadn’t left the grounds yet gasped in shock. What was happening to their king and why would he pick the woman that tried to kill them all as his Queen? All the people were confused and looking back and forth between Tabitha and Freya. Freya stood there looking almost as shocked as everyone else, but her wolf and Lycan told her to snap out of it because everyone was looking. She needed to keep a brave face for their people even if she hadn’t been made Queen officially. Alex, the real Alex, is her mate and she can’t let him or their people down.
“She is not now, nor will she ever be our Queen. Alex would never allow such a person to become our Queen.” shouted one of the men that was rushing to get to safety. Others started to chime in saying the same thing or stuff along the same lines. Alex’s eyes flashed red and Freya moved to step in front of the people that were talking.
“I will not let you hurt them just because they speak their minds to you. Alex, my Alex, has allowed them to do so, and I will not have them punished by a watered-down version of my mate just because what they said bruised your little ego.”
“There is nothing watered-down about me. I am, in fact, more powerful than your mate will ever be if you want to know.”
“No, you are not more powerful. You’re being boosted by Tabitha and those rotten witches. I find it funny how you have to be boosted but Alex never did except when he had to bring back plenty of people from death. Even then he didn’t have to be boosted as much, but from the dark magic I feel radiating from you right now, you are super charged and none of that magic is from Alex. My guess is that you have no idea how to take control of his magic.” Freya smirks while he looks at her with shock on his face for a split second before he masks it with a smirk of his own.
“You really think you are superior, but your own mate didn’t even complete the mating ceremony with you, nor did he make you his Queen officially. Guess we all know where his priorities lie. I mean he could have at least gone through with the mating ceremony since all you need is family and friends for the first part and then you are alone in the woods for the mating part, but he didn’t even do that much for you.” His words stung but she refused to let him see her pain.
“We decided to wait and do everything together because we wanted everyone to attend. Our people are our family so why wouldn’t we want them present for such an occasion? Furthermore, why am I explaining this to someone who doesn’t know what the concept of love or having a true mate is to understand what I am even talking about in the first place.”
“Oh, I can kind of grasp what it means based on what my own mate has told me. It means being shunned for wanting to get revenge when that mate dies by your own people. It means having to do things you never thought you would to avenge them on your own, then be looked at as the villain. Because of how she was treated, I am going to be her avenger, and I will start by banning all witches of light from my kingdom.” He used his Alpha king voice which even non wolves or Lycans had no other choice but to obey.
“Freya, we have everyone out safely. Get yourself and David out of there are soon as you can and be careful.” says Ethan.
Freya looks at David and then back at Alex who has pulled Tabitha closer to him. Looking at them together makes her skin crawl but she can’t think about them right now because she needs to get these people, herself, and David out of here. She tells David what Ethan told her and has him usher the few people that are cowering behind her off the grounds and to safety. When he begins to protest, she reminds him that he can’t hurt her and to just go. David ran off with the others and headed out of the castle grounds to meet at a safe location.
“You think taking them away will save them?”
“No.”
“Then why make them leave?”
“Everyone needs some hope sometimes. Besides, it gives us more time to chat, among other things.” Freya smirks and winks at him.
“Flattery will get you nowhere with me, but I like your attitude. I may keep you around. You’re nice to look at anyway.” Freya giggles.
“Yeah, that’s what I’ve heard my entire life. I know that I’m gorgeous and have never needed validation in that area. So, flattery won’t work on me either.”
"Now I see why he keeps you around. I was wondering what it was about you. You’re a feisty one and would be a good choice, but your morals don’t align with what I have in store.”
“Why are you doing this? None of this will bring your mate back, but you could possibly have a second-chance mate out there or could even fall in love with a warlock or just someone else in general. Alex and I talked about it and we were not going to kill or imprison you because you were not fueled by anything other than heartbreak. Yes, revenge was what you wanted, but that stemmed from a broken heart and feeling betrayed by your coven which is supposed to be your family. I can’t say that I get it because my family has never betrayed me and I haven’t lost a mate, but I can tell you that we are still willing to help you through your grief if you want us to help.” Freya spoke to Tabitha from her heart and the witch could tell that she was sincere in her words.
“Don’t try to sway her to your side by talking about her dead mate. She is mine and we are going to rule this kingdom the way I see fit. I’m going to give you one chance to run away with your little friends, because if you stay here any longer, I will keep you as a slave.”
“I’m not trying to sway her to my side. I’m only offering her what nobody else has. She deserved to be treated better than she was while she was going through her grief. Yes, what she suggested was against coven rules, but they could have offered her alternatives instead of just basically telling her to get over it because they don’t get involved in shifter affairs. She deserved to be consoled and heard but that didn’t happen for her.”
“Like I said, quit trying to convince her to leave me or what we’re doing.” He growls at Freya.
“That’s not what I’m doing!” Freya growls back at him.
“Both of you stop it! I can speak for myself. She isn’t convincing me to leave you or what we are working towards so calm down. Freya, thank you so much for your kind words, but I am afraid they are too late. I can’t turn back now, but I will tell you the same thing that I told Alex. I hope you both make it through all of this but if you don’t, then I hope to see you both on the other side with me and my mate. All magic, whether light or dark, comes with a price and sometimes with a loophole. Remember that in the days to come.” She smiles at Freya before looking at Alex and nods slightly. They both raise their hands into the sky and say a few words that Freya doesn’t understand before black hot electricity shoots out of their hands destroying every building it touches.
