“Savannah there is someone that I want you to meet so please be on your best behavior. Tonight, I don’t need any problems.

“Of course, big brother.”

“I mean it, Savannah. She is here by my special request so treat her and her family with respect. There’s plenty we need to discuss after this ball. I know that you hate war and politics but if you’re hell bent on staying here then you need to know what is going on and always follow my instructions or so help me, by Goddess, I will have you locked away somewhere until things settle down.” I used my Alpha voice so that she knows I mean business. The look on her face told me that she was finally taking what I’ve been saying and she leaned into me and hugged me from the side.

“Okay big brother, I’ll do as you say for now. Is it really that serious?”

Before I can answer her my mate, her family, as well as my Beta, all walk out onto the balcony, and the look my mate gives me seeing Savannah holding onto me could melt ice. Shit! I have to do something to stop this mess before things get out of hand. Freya’s temper is almost as bad as my own at times. She glares back and forth between me and my sister and I know she is trying to figure out how to attack, but before I can say anything she starts speaking.

“Alex, please explain to me why every time I leave you alone something or someone pisses you off and is usually a woman?” She then turned towards my sister and started walking closer. “Look, I don’t know or care what you had with Alex in the past, but it ends now. I’m seriously getting sick of all of you, and it has only been two weeks.”

Once the laughter calmed down and I straightened things out with her about the woman being my sister, there were ten minutes left before Freya’s birthday so I had everyone go back downstairs and the story will be that I asked to speak to the Alpha regarding a pack matter and also asked him to introduce his Luna, and son since he is the future Alpha.

Savannah left after the introductions, but I did notice that she seemed troubled. I’ll check on her after the party starts even though that will be cutting into my time with Freya. A few minutes more away from her won’t hurt I guess since we will have the rest of our lives to be together. Looking at my watch I see that there is one minute to go so I start to make my way down the stairs and onto the ground floor. People are dancing and laughing and just having so much fun that I wonder why I never thought to reinstate these balls myself.

Midnight comes and I start to sniff the air looking for my mate while walking through the crowd of people. I smell her and immediately start making my way towards the buffet. She turns and starts to sniff the air too and puts down her plate before heading towards me. When we are finally in front of each other we both shout the word “Mate” loud enough to be heard by the others around us. I pull her into my arms as my people start to clap and cheer for me. They even start to shout their congratulations to me and call her their Luna. Even though we already knew we were mates, the acceptance of my people made it feel so much better.

“Everyone, I know that you all have waited almost as long as I have to finally have a Luna and Queen. Tonight I am the happiest and luckiest man to have found her at our first and definitely will not be our last, Mate Ball. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your patience, respect, and most importantly your trust over all of these years. I know that you all have been stressed and worried about this rogue problem and so have I, but I promise you that we are working on plans right now to ensure this problem ceases to exist. For tonight though, I want all of you to enjoy yourself and help us in celebrating the birthday of your new Queen as well as all of the people who have found their long-awaited mates tonight.”

The ball was a success and now my mate and I are heading to our room to finally be alone together. We decide to start with a shower together which I’m hoping will calm her nerves and get her comfortable with being naked together.
