The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 113

“Nobody will ever take us away from you, and after the mating ceremony, nobody will ever be stupid enough to try my mate.” We all speak together.

Once our wolves and Lycans retreated, I laid back down and he turned off the light and put the book down. He wrapped his arms around me and help me tight until we both eventually fell asleep. The next morning, I awoke to an empty bed with a note on the night stand. He had gone to the office to work today but promised that if he got tired, he would relax. I know he is full of crap but I’m not going to argue with him today because I have way too much to get done. I’ll just check on him around lunch.

Renee and Shayla are already in the banquet hall when I finally get there, and they are barking orders as well as doing some decorating themselves. For a few minutes I just stand there watching them and the others putting the decorations on the tables and the walls, and it finally hits me that I am about to not just be a Luna but a Luna Queen. We’ve done this before, but I wasn’t really a part of the decorating and planning like I am this time around and I have to give the former Queens and Lunas their credit because this is a lot of work for one person, yet they all did it with grace and never complained. And not just the Lunas but the workers as well seem to enjoy what they are doing even though I know they have to be tired from all of this work. “I have to talk to Alex about giving these people a raise when this is all over.” I say to myself before walking into the hall and getting to work.

The days pass swiftly and today is my coroantion and mating ceremony. Alex and I had to sleep in separate rooms and neither of us liked that at all. We both protested against it, but his parents said that it was a tradition and we had to follow the rules. His dad laughed at his son’s pouting face and told him that it was only for one night. We all ended up laughing as he stormed off to his office. His mother took me to a suite that was almost as big as the Luna suite but not quite. She told me that I’d be staying here until the ceremony. All of the women were going to the spa in the morning for facials and to get our nails and feet done, then we were going to the beauty salon to get our hair and makeup done. I was surprised they weren’t going to have someone come to the palace for all of this since there is a spa and beauty salon on the grounds, but when I asked, Alex’s mother told me that it was to keep us separate. When we’re in the same place we want to be near each other more and we are not to see each other until the ceremony.

Once we were all done with our spa and hair trip, I must say that I was very relaxed, that is until I saw my dress. We were sitting in the lounge area when Shaniece came into the room with two maids. One was carrying a garment bag and the other was pushing a cart with a bunch of boxes that looked like shoe boxes. How many pairs of shoes would I need?

“Shaniece, what is all of this?” I asked her.

“These are different shoes to choose from and that bag holds your dress for the coronation silly.” she says and smiles.

“Yes, I know that’s my dress, but why so many shoes? I only need a pair for the coronation, which I already picked out to go with my dress, and then a pair for the mating ceremony.”

“Well, the shoes you picked out did go with your dress, but there were some alterations made to your dress.” What did she just say? I must be hearing things.

“Alterations? What the hell do you mean there have been alterations? Shaniece, it took me months to pick out a dress that I liked after the last one was ruined and now on the day of my coronation you’re telling me that there have been alterations!” Now I’m shouting and getting angrier by the second. I see my mother step forward and Shaniece takes several steps back.

“Freya, baby girl, just calm down. I’m sure there’s a reason for the alterations.”

“Mom, my dress didn’t need any alterations. I haven’t gained or lost weight, they didn’t run out of fabric or any other excuse. My dress was already done and ready, so what possible reason could there be for alterations?” I was trying to calm down so that Alex didn’t feel my anger and stress through our bond. No such luck there because I felt the mind link open.

“Freya! Baby, what’s wrong? I can feel your anger.” says Alex.

“I was getting ready for the ceremony and am just now being told that there were alterations made to my damn dress without my knowledge by the way. Alex, I’m pissed.”

“Honey, have you seen the dress yet?” he asked me.

“No, I haven’t but what does that have to do with anything. They altered my dress. You know how long it took me to find that dress.” I was so angry that I was about to start crying.

“Freya, my love, calm down. I’m the one that altered the dress. No, I didn’t look at it, but I asked for something to be added around the collar and the hem of the sleeves and the hem of the bottom of the dress. Also, I made changes to the buttons.”

“Why would you change my dress and not tell me?”

“Because it is a surprise and my sort of coronation present to you. Now, go and see the dress before you ruin your makeup which I hope you’re not wearing but I know my mother. I’ll see you at the ceremony. I love you.” He cuts the link and when my eyes refocus everyone is staring at me and looking scared.

“Mrs. Trudeaux I’ll handle your son later since I now know that he is the culprit behind my dress alterations. Shaniece, I’m sorry for yelling at you. Give me a few moments to wash this makeup off and then I’ll look at this dress.”

When I finished washing off the makeup, which I don’t know why I allowed them to do that to me since I hate makeup, I headed back into the room and unzipped the bag and took out my dress. Everything is the same except that the collar, hem of the sleeves, hem at the bottom of the dress, and buttons are all sparkling with rhinestones. Upon closer inspection, I see that they are not rhinestones at all, but diamonds. Has he lost his mind? I can’t wear a dress with real diamonds.
