The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 61

Freya’s POV

I woke up the next day feeling so much better after talking to Alex. Getting out of bed, I head to the bathroom for a shower and comb my hair into a high ponytail before getting dressed in jeans and a yellow t-shirt and white sneakers before heading down to the dining hall for breakfast. The aroma of fresh brewed coffee, eggs, bacon, and something sweet hits my nose and makes my stomach growl. David sees me first and stands up from his place at the table to greet me.

“Morning Freya. How are you?” He looks tired. I give him a sympathetic smile before answering.

“I feel how you look, though maybe a bit better than you look. Are you still not sleeping?”

“Hard to sleep when you’re patrolling all night and dealing with paperwork all day, not to mention still trying to figure out how to deal with Tobias and make time for my mate. I have no idea how Alex does this by himself and I have help and still look like death.”

“I can probably help with some of the paperwork if you want. I’ve been trained to be a Luna my whole life plus Alex’s mother has been training me since I’ve been here on how to be a Luna Queen so I’m sure I could at least help a little. I’ll also help in the training if needed. As of today, we are going to start training everyone of age. No more school until this war has ended. I know this will possibly postpone graduation for some but there may not be a graduation at all if we don’t stop Tobias.” Everyone that had been listening to us seemed to shake their heads in agreement. “I know that I don’t have the authority to make that decision yet, but I’m sure you have to agree that this is the best option.”

“I agree. The last thing we need is for him to attack while the children are vulnerable in the school. We have to try to lure this battle somewhere far enough away from the kingdom, especially the city. There’s no way to get in touch with him even if that were an option, I doubt he would agree. He seems to like all the chaos.” says David.

“What he likes is to torture, degrade, humiliate, and kill. I don’t know how I didn’t see his evil heart before we mated. That bastard stole so much from me including my Lycan but kidnapping my daughter is the last damn straw. He will pay in blood and death for that crime.” says my mother with more malice and venom in her voice than I’ve ever heard and the look on her face goes with the saying “If looks could kill” right about now.

“Mama don’t worry. He will pay in blood, but he will beg for death, and we will not grant it to him. He will receive torture for all of his victims. There will be no rest or respite for him just as he never gave any to his victims. Only when we tire of his existence will he finally get released from this life.” Suddenly, I get a mind-link.

“Freya, are you awake?” It’s Alex.

“Yes. Are you okay? Are you on your way back?”

“I’m good my love. I’ll be heading back as soon as I find something to eat. I’ll have to hunt a deer or something, but I'm on my way. Have no idea where I am just yet so I can’t say how long it will take.”

“Okay baby. I can’t wait to see you again.” He chuckles at what I said.

“You can’t wait to see me or do more?” I can tell he is smirking. So conceited and I tell him just that.

“You are a very conceited mate. I don’t know why I even miss you.” I giggle.

“And you love all of it my love. Every inch of me inside and out is why you miss me.”

“You’re right. I love and miss every inch of you and can’t wait for you to be home and holding me. When I woke up in that strange bed and those men came into the room, I’d never been so angry in my life, especially after they started talking so casually about what they were going to do to the people I love as well as myself.”

“Freya, be careful. I don’t know how long it will take me to get to you and the others. I have a feeling something is going to happen soon. Maybe I am just being paranoid, but I rather be safe than sorry. Tell David to remember the promise he made me in case I am not back in time. Don’t badger him to know what it is because he won’t be able to tell you. Remember that I love you and no matter what I will return. I have to go now. I see a bear and I need to eat quickly so I can head back.”

“I love you too and I will do as you ask. Please be careful and return to me safely.”

After we cut the link, I see everyone looking at me. I smile at them all and then grab David and pull him to the hallway where we would have more privacy. I tell him everything that Alex told me and when I mentioned the promise, I see a frown came over his face and then he gets a serious expression and just nods. We enter the dining hall again and sit down in our normal chairs. Every now and then I look at the chair that my mate normally sat in and a sadness comes over me. I know that he is coming back, but I wish he was already here.

Once breakfast is done, we head to the training fields and start training everyone. Some of them have become so complacent with being Lycans that they have never even considered training. They have that old world belief that they are superior and don’t need that much training. The conceitedness of these people is just beyond me. After I put more than a few on their ass, I saw some of them change their minds. The older ones are the ones that will be the hardest to change, but they will either change or get left behind. Alex and I have talked about the prejudice that has been going on all these years and we aim to change that under our rule. Nobody is better than the next or more important and that’s just the truth.

A soldier comes running towards us and David comes over to where I am. When the soldier reaches us, the look on his face tells me that what he is about to say will not be good news. He starts talking almost immediately and hands me a note. I open it and start to read, and instantly my blood runs cold. The note falls from my hands as shock takes over me. I can hear people talking to me, but I can’t respond. David picks up the note and starts to read and his face turns pale.

“Triple the patrols!” he shouts and men start running everywhere. “Freya, you need to pull it together. Our people cannot see you falling apart right now.” I take a deep breath and start to feel my blood boil.

“I am going to tear him limb from limb, and I will do it so slowly to drag out the pain. Our original plan is out the window now. Alex will just have to forgive me. Tobias will die.”
