The Lycan King and His Mysterious Luna Chapter 84
People were running to find shelter while others were busy fighting for their lives. The Coven of Light witches were using spells to keep people safe as well as to counterattack the dark witches. Freya and Bellevue were locked in a death match, and neither were letting anyone else interfere. Both had wounds pouring blood that soaked their fur, but Freya was healing a lot faster than Bellevue. Alexander and Tabitha were the only ones not moving. They just stared at each other as if holding a conversation within their minds. Nobody went near them as if there was an invisible forcefield surrounding them.
Suddenly a dirty brown wolf ran up behind Alex and lunged for him, but sensing the wolf, Alex sidestepped and grabbed the wolf by the back of the neck as he flew past him. Holding him away from his face to avoid the snapping jaws of the wolf, he used both of his hands and snapped the wolf's neck before tossing him to the side. The whole time he and Tabitha somehow never looked away from each other. After staring a little longer, Tabitha smirks at him before looking up at the night sky.
“I’m genuinely sorry for what is going to happen. I have no choice this time, but at least when it is all over, I’ll be at peace and with my mate.”
“What do you mean?” asked Alex.
“You will see. I’m secretly hoping that you and your mate survive this, but if you don’t...”
At that moment, Tabitha lifted a vial with dark purple liquid into the air and before Alex could react, she threw it at his feet. A thick purple smoke rose from the vial and surrounded the Lycan King. He tried to move but his feet wouldn’t budge no matter how much he struggled. All he could do was watch as the smoke billowed up in what seemed like slow motion towards his nose. Tabitha held eye contact with him, but he saw something that seemed like sympathy flash in her eyes. She had said that she didn’t have a choice in what was happening this time. Alex shook his head trying to clear it of those thoughts and concentrate on how to get out of this mess. He couldn’t understand how he couldn’t break free when he was supposed to be immune to magic.
As if sensing his thoughts, Tabitha slightly smiled and looked away for a second to survey what was going on around them. Nobody was coming near them and there were fights happening all over the grounds. She turned back to look at Alex and watched him struggle to break free. She could feel it when his power rose within him, but it wasn’t able to break free. Part of her wished that he would break free and end all of the pain and suffering that would come if they were successful with this plan, but the other part knew that this was the only way if she wanted to be reunited with her mate again. She no longer wanted to be in this world and longed to be with her mate in the afterlife. Unfortunately, she isn’t capable of committing suicide, her powers wouldn’t let her. They had taken on a life of their own throughout the years and seemed to protect her from harm to herself. The only being more powerful was the Lycan King and he proved that fact when he defeated her months prior. He seemed to be struggling with the fact that he can’t break free from the power of the potion. She took the time to enlighten on why he couldn’t get loose.
“You really should stop struggling your majesty. Breaking free of the spell of the potion is futile and all you’re going to do is cause yourself more pain. Don’t worry, I will enlighten you. You see, we know that you are immune to magic but there is always a loophole in magic and the goddess should have thought about that when she gifted you. You are physically immune to magic being used against you, but not magic used on something else. We made the potion from natural herbs found in nature but used magic to enhance the properties of the herbs. The herbs used are what white witches have used for centuries to make bonding potions so that if a witch was lost, they could find her without scrying. It is almost like your mate or tracker marks.”
Finally, the smoke made it to his nose and entered his body. He could feel his own magic battling with the potion for control. His wolf and Lycan came forth and fought for control as well. His body trembled as the battle went on within his body. He looked around and tried to find Freya. He needed to at least know that she was okay, and when his eyes landed on her, he saw that she had Bellevue pinned and was getting ready to rip his throat out when she was hit by a black bolt of lightning and thrown a few feet back. She stood up and shook out her fur while growling loudly. Her growl shook the ground and stopped everyone from moving for a few minutes.
Freya focused only on Bellevue, because he is the one that caused all of this mess. She was in a defensive stance when she felt a pain and a feeling of panic course through her, but she knew that these weren’t her feelings. She looked around frantically for Alex and when she found him what she saw made her breath catch in her throat. His entire body was shaking as though he was having an internal battle with his wolf and Lycan but she saw the last of a purple smoke trail going into his nose. Her wolf and Lycan came forward and they all looked on to see what was happening to their mates. While she was distracted, Bellevue took the opportunity to try to sneak attack her. She turned but it wasn’t in enough to prevent an attack, so she just braced herself for the impact, but it never came. When she looked a huge grey wolf leaped in front of her and tackled Bellevue to the ground. The wolf wasn’t as big as her or Alex, but it was big enough to be a normal sized Alpha Lycan. She knew the wolf wasn’t from here, but she would know that scent anywhere. Dylan had shown up right before Bellevue had a chance to get to Freya.
Dylan and Bellevue got up and started to circle one another looking for weaknesses. Bellevue was older and should have been more experienced, but Dylan was the nephew of Tobias and was trained well. Tobias was a psycho but he knew how to fight. His downfall was getting into a fight with a Goddess kissed and Goddess Blessed pair. If they had been regular wolves or Lycans, then he would have more than likely made it out of the fight alive.
Freya had no time to thank Dylan because she needed to find her mate and find out what was going on with him. Wolves and Lycans went after her as she made her way through the battlefield to reach her mate. She ripped into them one by one and used her powers to help her get through faster. Once she got within two feet of him, she found that she couldn’t get any closer. There was some kind of protective barrier around him. She pushed with her powers to get through the barrier, but nothing seemed to be working.
Alex started to shake and his eyes became blood red as his Lycan took over and he doubled over howling loudly. The howl wasn’t a distress call but a warning and everyone stopped. When he stood up straight, he was facing away from Freya but she could tell that something was wrong by the smirks on the dark witches faces. The barrier was suddenly gone and she started to walk towards him when her wolf and Lycan said at the same time, “Freya, something isn’t right. I don’t think we should go near him.”
What was wrong with them? How could they think that they shouldn’t go near him. “Freya, please don’t go near him. I don’t know what it is, but something isn’t right about our mate. Something is terribly wrong here.” said her wolf and Lycan again.
“Stop it girls. He’s our mate, so if something is wrong with him then we need to try to help him.”
They shrank back in her mind and just watched through Freya’s eyes since she shifted back to her human form. Freya walked cautiously up to Alex and put her hand on his shoulder which she felt his body stiffen. What startled her the most was the fact that she didn’t feel any tingles when their skin touched. What was going on here? “We told you something is wrong.”
Alex turned slowly and everyone that could see him gasped.
