Treasure Of Dragons, Royal Dragons Book 1 Chapter 76
Elizabeth
I had no idea I would even further freak out these poor idiots. Of course, this should be interesting for them when they have to face that video call with my family. Of course, my fathers can kiss my ass, but I am very sorry my mother and sisters will probably be distressed at my plans.
When we left the plane, I was the last one, cause there was no way I was letting them walk behind me, I saw the vehicle waiting for us. It’s cold and there’s snow everywhere even in April. I already knew that would be the case. I feel a sharp tug and I know what it means, so I look around and I see him.
I stop and smile, dropping my bag on the snow-covered tarmac. Finally Micheal and his brothers turn to see what I am doing and realize what is heading for me at full speed. They are yelling at me to get in the car, but I walk forward to meet him.
I drop to my knees and he stops in front of me. He goes to his belly and turns over. He’s absolutely huge. He easily dwarfs me several times over, but his white fur is beautiful, and his feet are ginormous. I can’t get over how large his feet are. The Landrys are left stupefied as I pet the tummy of a giant Polar Bear. My mother and I share a very close affinity for animals. I have realized over the years that I have a few aspects of the trait that differ from hers, but I have always loved it.
I talk to him for a moment, but I know I need to leave and go to their house. I have other aspects of my plan to get going. I whisper to him, “Remember me, and come and find me again. I will be away from these morons in just a bit.” I stand up and pat his head.
He sits there and watches as I get to the car and get in the very back so none of them are sitting behind me. I know I have to play this as the most paranoid person in history. I’m not actually, but they probably think I am. It’s a very quiet ride to their house.
We arrived at a huge stone mansion. I knew it would have to be big to accommodate dragons. We leave the car and walk towards the house as the second surprise catches them off guard. We hear flapping wings and I look up just in time to see the snowy owl before he lands on my shoulder. I put out my arm as he’s very big for my shoulder unless I tilt my head all the way to the side. He accommodates me and moves to my arm, being careful not to claw me. It reminds me of the owls that my mom often talked about.
He’s beautiful, and he makes soft calls and talks to me. I laugh and pet his chest feathers. I hear a throat cleared behind me and the owl looks up. The 3 Landry brothers are sitting there again, totally surprised, but also impatient. None of this has gone as they had anticipated. So, I tell the owl goodbye, and he lifts off to fly across the white expanse of the Northern Territories.
We walk into the house, and again, I keep them all in my sights, and the gun is still in my pocket, and my hand is on it and ready to defend myself. Probably with a dragon, and dragon healing it wouldn’t kill them, but it would get my point across.
They lead me to a room at the end of a hall, and I see double doors just beyond where we are, which is no doubt a master bedroom. Wise of them to take me someplace else. The door is flung open and Michael is pointing inside.
“You can stay here. We will discuss what we are going to do at dinner. It is at 7 pm.“ With that they all 3 walk off and I go into the room, shut the door, and lock it behind me. I put my bag down and started pulling out all of my stuff. I have plans to get ready.
At 7pm I leave the room, prepared to defend myself still, but ready to at least be a bit cordial, we’ll see how they act, and I shall meet them equally. I wander around looking for where I should go. I finally smell food and head towards it. I hear angry French so I figure that’s them.
As I enter the dining room the voices cut off, “You don’t have to stop because of me. I don’t understand French, so feel free to speak among yourselves all you want.” I grin cockily at them.
They sit down and I sit at the opposite end of the table from where they are, and there are heavy sighs all around. At this point, it’s just stupidity. What? Did they expect me to suddenly change how I think because we are now in Canada or something? Did they not hear what I said on the plane? Nothing has changed, so I don’t see why they are surprised by my behavior. I place the portfolio I brought down with me on the table next to me.
Plates of food were brought out and set in front of each of us. I thank the person who brought it and she startles and looks at me and gives me a slight head nod. That’s interesting, is she not used to simple thank yous with these dick heads?
“We must figure out a way to move forward Elizabeth. You will be our mate as per the agreement. So, you need to lose your anger and attitude and do your duty.”
I smile and get up, pick up the portfolio, and carry it down to Michael, and set it in front of him. Then turn and sit down again.
He opens it and reads it, then he looks up at me with anger, “You were telling the truth. You will have no ability to ever bear children.” His brothers grab it and read it, looking equally angry.
“Maybe my dads will give you an exchange. Sarah's only a few months old, so she wouldn't have any feelings about being a person and not a breeder.” I gave them a glare with all the rage I felt.
They all storm off. I smile and finish eating. Then go upstairs, get my things, and walk out the front door into the blizzard blowing around me.
