I watched Drago's face as he hardened his resolve, “I’m willing to try something new Ria. You have no idea the fear I have that you will find a way to sever our mate bond. I’m honestly not sure I would live through that.” I sighed.

“Drago I don’t know what you want me to say. I have been searching for that for almost 19 years, and I’ve never found anything. In my opinion, it probably doesn’t exist. Would you really have that hard a time if I were no longer your mate? I will always be the mother of your children, nothing can change that, so I wouldn’t physically go anywhere.”

“Yes, we would all miss that part of you, that light I carry in my chest where I feel you. To me you are what’s good in me, to lose that would be devastating." 

I paused at that, to me the bond felt different, probably because of the hostile relationship I had with my dragon. I knew it was there, but I didn’t really feel it so to speak. Every so often, I would feel somewhat of a tug, especially if it was an extremely strong emotion, but other than that, I think she held it.

So, I was in no way expecting him to say that. I mean, I know they have always felt more for me than anything I have ever felt for them, again, not sure if it is because my dragon and I don’t get along at all? Who knows, it has changed everything from the beginning. I guess, it’s hard for me to wrap my mind around it when they say they love me, when so often it doesn’t seem that way from their actions.

“If you want me to believe that, Drago, then stop acting otherwise. If you really want me to believe you love me, then show me, and I don’t mean in the bedroom, I mean, really show me. That goes for all of you. If you say you love me, prove it to me.” I looked at all of their faces around the table, and now I just wonder if they will follow through. If they do, I have to figure out what I’m going to do. 

‘After this baby is born, I will arrange with Dr. Surenka, and Dr. Paskal to perform the same type of operation that Elizabeth had. You guys’ healing is one thing, I don’t think dragon healing will include growing something back from nothing.” Again, I watched their faces.

“As long as you’re not in danger I have no issues with it, I agree 20 is a lot, so I can more than understand you being done.” Cole nods after saying that.

“I agree with Cole, 20 is far beyond anything we could have imagined, but it’s a lot. So, as long as you’re safe, then okay.” Drago emphatically nods his head. 

The others just nod, I guess they agree with the previous sentiments of the others. Now I have another agreement they will agree to, or so help me god, I will kill dragons. 

“Never, ever, any arranged matings again. If any of our children mate, it will be because they fell in love and decided mutually with their partner to mate, that’s it, that’s all, no discussions. I can’t take the idea of this ever happening again. I don’t know if I will survive that.” They all sigh and nod their heads.

“Okay, one last question, for right now, because I am only able to deal with so much right now, so, what’s with the Patel Dragons in New Zealand? Was there a specific reason why they weren’t invited to shit, or considered for the agreement?”

“No, that was more a matter of logistics. The other 3 families live in areas that are wider in range, so they were having the same issues we were about being able to cover all of it, or when something spilled over borders. New Zealand, well, it’s an island all unto itself. Yes, Australia is there, but again, it’s an island unto itself. So, down there typically they don’t have issues crossing borders. Now, we have exchanged information with the odd case that spanned their territory, but the main one was just location, and need. Then when I spoke to them, they didn’t want an arranged mating. So, there was that.” Drago listed it all out for me. 

“We should speak to them about a visit at some point. Let us and them get to know each other. As you’ve said repeatedly, Royal Dragon Males can only mate and have kids with Royal Dragon Females. It may come to nothing, but just in case there is something someday with one of our daughters, then we should extend an olive branch.” 

“I honestly hadn’t ever considered that. I will be honest and tell you that the idea of them coming and spending time with our kids as they grew never occurred to me either. The whole situation with the girls makes me wonder if that would work.” Ash looks around the table at all of us, and I can see the guys thinking about it.

“It’s totally different Ash, before you dropped that bomb on them about being sold to the other families, and totally scrambled their entire world, they had no problem with them being here. It wasn’t until you dropped the bomb that they became enemies. If no bombs were dropping, it would be totally different.” I see that they get that ah-ha moment. 

“Thank you for talking to Brand, I know that couldn’t have been easy, and I'm sure it will be an ongoing conversation. I don’t honestly know what will happen with all that. Also, if he didn’t tell you, he heard us on a few occasions with discussion even though we were being super quiet. He says he hears everything, so that could be one of his dragon abilities or something, I don’t know.” They all nodded, but I had no idea if it was just a general agreement, or an acknowledgement of prior knowledge, but I decided it didn’t matter.

Elizabeth, I pray that wherever you are, you are safe. Mari, mama is going to try to help bring you back to us. Desi, I love you little girl, and I always will. I don’t blame you and I’m not mad at you, I understand probably more than you ever realized I did. 

Now, we are supposed to do the dreaded trip to see Dr. Surenka in a couple of days, then there is the horrific trip to that damn dinner, so I have to get myself psyched for that. 

Then I wonder what’s going to hit me in the fucking ass next? Will I be able to help my daughter? Will we find Elizabeth?
