My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate Chapter 188
Epilogue
Lilith's POV
One Year Later
“Liam! Logan! Spit that out!” I snapped, swiping a giant spicy beef stick out of my toddlers’ sticky little hands.
“Who left this out where they could grab it?” I hollered, though I knew no one would answer. The packhouse was always bustling, and my voice blended into the background noise.
I watched my little explorers wobble across the recreation room on their chubby legs, their laughter drawing smiles from everyone they passed. Pack members stopped to coo at them or ruffle their dark hair. Liam was the fearless one, with Caleb’s boundless energy and curiosity, while Logan had inherited Caden’s gentle sweetness. Their latest obsession was rubbing their hands on everything and everyone. Maybe it was a sensory thing, but I found it endearing. My favorite moments were naptimes, when I’d have them snuggled on either side of me, their tiny hands brushing against my arm as they drifted off to sleep.
They looked nothing like me, though. Both were the spitting image of their Ashford lineage—something everyone loved to remind me of daily. I couldn’t help but hope baby Ariel would tip the scales in my favor. After all, I’d done all the hard work: carrying them, birthing them, and functioning as a 24/7 milk bar.
I glanced down at Ariel, strapped snugly to my chest, her soft blonde hair peeking out from her blanket. Only two weeks old, and already she had me wrapped around her tiny finger. Three kids. Lilith Ashford, mother of three. Who would’ve thought? I should write a letter to the makers of shifter birth control—it was a complete joke. It bought me some time, but clearly not enough.
Absentmindedly, I stroked Ariel’s downy hair as I rocked her gently, savoring the quiet moment. My peace was short-lived, though, as Sophia walked in, scooping up Liam and Logan effortlessly. I sighed in relief and collapsed onto a bar stool, propping my feet up on another chair.
My life had become a whirlwind of diapers, spit-up, and sleep deprivation. My children were the ultimate cock blockers. What even was life anymore?
“Breaking news: Reporter has kids and forgets the world exists. Tune in never, because this is it—just trying to keep tiny humans alive,” I muttered under my breath.
From behind me, I heard Violet’s voice: “Oh, look! It’s your big cousin, Emma! Aren’t you two just adorable, Liam and Logan?”
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, instead daydreaming about a margarita the size of my head. Violet, ever the maternal goddess, was practically glowing despite being pregnant with twins. She and Liam had been through so much, and seeing them happy now was undeniably heartwarming. Still, I couldn’t help but groan when she teased, “It’s only a matter of time, Lilith.”
“Keep those twin cooties over there!” I shouted playfully.
Rose, of course, had to chime in. *Bring them over here!* she taunted through the mind-link.
I stuck my tongue out at her like the mature adult I was.
Ariel stirred against my chest but stayed blissfully asleep. She was a little diva already, waking up only to eat or complain about being uncomfortable. Unless, of course, one of her daddies tried to get frisky—that was her cue to demand all my attention.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, and I fumbled to pull it out. “Briar! Tell me everything. Leave out *nothing*,” I demanded, drumming my fingers on the bar in anticipation.
Briar laughed before dropping a bombshell. “I, uh, mated a couple of nights ago,” she admitted.
My jaw practically hit the floor. “Wait. Fated?”
“Nope. He’s a fox shifter—a friend of a friend. He’s Italian, a music producer, and we can’t keep our hands off each other.” Her voice was filled with awe, and I couldn’t help but smile.
“Oh? Details. Dirty ones. Don’t hold back.”
*Lily, you don’t need to hear that,* Rose scolded. I ignored her, fully invested in the juicy gossip.
As Briar recounted her steamy escapade, I quickly mind-linked Sophia to keep Liam and Logan for a few hours. She had already planned to, thanks to the slip-and-slide and kiddie pool set up outside.
Then, I contacted my mates. *Get home. Now. No excuses.* I didn’t care what they were doing or where they were—I had waited long enough.
Back home, I laid Ariel down in Liam and Logan’s bed, padding it with pillows just in case, though she wasn’t going anywhere. For once, the house was quiet. My little princess might want to rule my life, but tonight, I had plans of my own.
Stripping down without a care for appearances, I settled myself in the middle of our bed. There was no time or energy to bother with being seductive. I had one goal. And so, I waited.
And waited.
*Where the hell are you? I’m naked and WAITING,* I snapped through the mind-link to my mates.
Caleb’s voice shot back instantly. *Naked? Why didn’t you lead with that?*
*Do I need to hire a skywriter with a blimp? Because I WILL!* I retorted, utterly exasperated. This was the only time I’d ever summoned them home in the middle of the day for non-pack-related reasons. If it were business, I’d be in their office… potentially naked.
*Someone get in this bedroom with a hard-on RIGHT NOW. Baby one and two are gone, and baby three is asleep,* I shouted, my patience running thin.
Moments later, I caught the familiar scent of Caden and the sound of his hurried footsteps on the stairs. Smirking, I got on my knees, arching forward to give him an unfiltered view of my backside and the way my fingers teased myself.
“Oh, damn, baby,” he groaned, his hands finding my hips as his tongue went exactly where I wanted it.
I moaned softly, though it wasn’t enough. “Get naked. Now,” I commanded, my voice low and full of intent.
Barely ten seconds passed before he was inside me, his movements anything but gentle. Rose purred in satisfaction as my head tilted back, eyes rolling with pleasure. Time blurred until Caleb finally graced us with his presence. Slipping beneath me, he completed the overwhelming sensation of having both my mates at once. These moments had become rare, but nothing in the world could compare.
When we were done, we collapsed into a tangled heap of limbs, marveling at the miracle that Ariel hadn’t woken up. As shifters, we didn’t need baby monitors. We could always feel our pups’ heartbeats when they were close, and the steady rhythm was soothing.
“I love you, Lily,” Caden murmured, stroking my hair. “We don’t tell you enough how incredible you are as a mate, a mother, and our Luna. You’re the center of our world, and you amaze me every single day.”
The sarcastic part of me itched to respond, but the version of me who truly appreciated his words won out. Was there still a part of me that missed the old days, that felt like I’d lost a piece of myself? Sure. But those moments were fleeting. No matter how much I joked about my little savages, I’d never let them feel anything but wanted and deeply loved.
Motherhood was nothing like I’d imagined—it was better. Being surrounded by the pack that helped me raise these tiny humans made me feel profoundly grateful. If I’d been in my mother’s shoes, only able to have one child, it might have destroyed me. I wanted Liam and Logan to have what I saw in the Ashfords: a bond to share life’s highs and lows.
And Violet? Despite her relentless drive to singlehandedly double the Blood Moon population, I’d grown as close to her as I ever thought possible.
“I love you too,” I said softly, tracing my fingers along Caden’s jaw.
“I love you more,” Caleb growled, his voice thick with desire as he leaned down to kiss me, his lips finding their way to my breast.
And just like that, Ariel’s cries filled the air. Because of course.
“I’ve got her. She probably needs a change,” Caden offered, rolling off the bed without bothering to grab any clothes.
I couldn’t help but wonder when I’d have to start wearing more than a tank top and panties around the house. For now, I reveled in the freedom.
“I’m so proud of you, Lily,” Caleb said, his tone soft yet serious as he kissed the back of my hand. “We couldn’t be happier, and I hope you feel the same.”
His sincerity, combined with how effortlessly gorgeous he looked even after all this time, made it hard to resist the urge to tease him. But I knew better than to deflate moments like these.
“You’ve got me right where you want me, Caleb Ashford,” I said, giving him a mischievous grin.
With a wicked gleam in his eyes, he grabbed me and pulled me beneath him, making me squeal.
“Every day with you is the best day of my life, Lilith Ashford,” he murmured, his voice rough with need. “But don’t think I’ll let that sharp tongue of yours go unchecked.”
His lips found Caden’s mark on my neck, and I groaned, feeling his arousal pressing against me.
Before I could process it, we were lost in another heated embrace. Caden returned moments later, baby-free. I didn’t ask where Ariel was. I didn’t care.
For now, I had my Alphas all to myself, and I wasn’t about to waste a second.
